AK in the BB when its folded to SB
hey all, i havent posted in a while since i have been in a huge losing streak. Anyways, im in a 10$ SNG at UB and my table image has been really tight. I aam gettin low on chips so i need to move quickly b4 the blinds eat me up. I have AKo/s in BB when the table folds around to the SB who is somewhat loose-passive, but has shown some aggressiveness. He calls the BB an di raise to 600 with 100-200 blinds, he reraises all in, i was happy to call with AK headsup! he fips over T2 o/s! I was like YES! i have a 2.5-1 lead HU! then they dealt the flop...... 922 and the rest was obviously shyt and i ...

Continuation bets. How often do you use them?
when your playing with good players who know what youre doing isnt profitbale and i believe if you make a cont bet into a 3-way pot is stupid. Youre most ikely beat and probably at least a 3-1 dog. Especially when you lead into the field, youre just throwing your money away to gain information. I dont see how this could be profitable if you have no draw or no pair.

I'm Missing Something. And it Sucks.
you dont need to push when your M is 10.. when it gets down to 6 is when i start to push when im first in. Thats the toughest part of the game, picking a spot to move in with a marginal hand due to yor M. If you have an M of 6 and you sittin there with AT UTG, you wana push if you still have fold equity. regards nick

was this a bad play?
hey dunce thanks for the input. Im sorry about confusing you, i worderd it wrong. hopefully this will clear any misconceptions you have. what i meant was: he calls the 30 from the BB then raises 30 more, i call 30 more. pot now contains, 120. then he bets half the pot(60) i raised 180 more on after his 60 and he calls 180 more which the pot now contains 540, then we both checked the turn,(wanting to get my money in on the river) then i go all in after he checks and he calls sorry and thanks again Nick

Folding AA preflop?

hello i definitely think that folding KK this late in tourney is stupid.. If you do lose, you still have an M of 12.5.... which means you are ready to make gamlbes with AJ, or TT or other marginal hands. I believe you have to call here, if you lose, thats poker. If you read the opponent as a solid player, i probably would have folded. I think that this decision depends on what you opponent has done in the past, but if you do call, youre more than likely a 75% fave at least... so i would consider a call here. Again.. if he has AA or something like that,, there is only 4 hands out of the ...

Final Table play with AK
hello. i fold here as well. Based on what you have said about the table, i strongly believe youre behind, most likely a flip, but why would you want to risk for a flip when you can steal or wait for other hands' Since this is a tight table, my first impression on the all in is probably something like JJ or QQ, based on experience, when someone vastly overbets UTG usually means he has some big pocket pair and doesnt want action but a heads up confrontation. Why would the chip leader push all in UTG if he didnt have a hand' If you ask me, i say he wants a call, and figures someone might bite. I ...

sit and go revisited please read
hello likunta2: this is definitely a tough choice in my opinion. I think you need to ask yourself : how does he play when hes heads up with someone who isnt all-in. Aggressive, tight, etc... but also remember that he has a big stack of chips in front of him, so dont get carried away by pushing all-in with your A6 o/s. because youre not wanting to committ all your chips on this type of hand quite yet. You still have the opportunity to just smooth call preflop and take a free flop. You may be a favorite at the time (60%-40%) but anything can happen on the flop, so i think the right choice is ...

Hey....i have a question
hello K! it seems to me you were just on the unfortunate side of the stick. i believe you did everything right besides raising all-in on the flop. even though he was on his flush draw that you put him on, he probably thought you were weak by pushing all-in on flop, and you wanted him out now also. But when you pushed your remaining 2780 in the 1520 pot, he was only getting 2.1-1 odds which doesnt justify him calling with his 4-1 flush draw. Was your Q a spade' if it was than he only had 8 outs. but all in all, the guy made a horrible blunder and down the road that guy wont have the money and ...

Key hand late in MTT...please advise
the only thing i dont agree with is ur play on the flop.. u really dint allow urself for an escape plan. I like to either push all in when folded to me there and take the pot or just raise to 8k and push on flop, i like the push all in on flop play if ur gonna bet flop.. that would put the pressure on him for a huge amount of chips, since ur opps fold equity is very low.. push alll in!!!!!! Continuation bets. How often do you use them?
it is not profitable to bet out with 3 players to make a continuation bet. thats like betting your 99 when the flop comes KJ7. I only make continuation bets when its between 1 other player besides me. GL.... Nick

Difficult decision with QQ
i think this is a judgement of instincts for u.. but i would definitely call his all in here. Think about it, he doubles BB early, most likely KQ or AT, i would definitely call him down. i believe that 85% of reraises pflop in NLHE are from High cards, but that doesnt matter here because this isnt in general. I would assess harrington's 10% rule here. it would look like this for me: 70% he has OCs 20% over pair and 10% bluff(KQ or lower).70% x 55%, 20% x 20%, 10% x 75%. so the odds are pretty close to 50-50..so it comes down to ur gut.... SNG-quiz
hello all, my initial response to what belly had was jj, but now that i think about it, he could have weaker hands, only having to call 90 and then 180 more preflop, giving him 2-1 odds heads up. he may have called with pkt 5s being high-stacked or 7s. slowplaying on the flop with the nuts or second nuts may have been what he was trying to execute. I think he had pkt 7s or 5s GL ThorKGB Nick

What Do I Do??
hello- My gut says medium pocket pair. OR some overcards too, either way, youre in good shape. As far as what i think you should do with this hand when he raises is: since there is 2327 in the pot pre. he raises to 7200, 6k more for you. there is 9527 in the pot and its 6k to you, 1.58-1 odds, which isnt good odds, but i think its safe to assume youre ahead. I would like to just call here to see a flop and make a stop n go if no A hits or K. otherwise, if A hits, i would check to be on safe side, bc if the A hits, most of the time ppl will check with a mid pair on flop unless theyre savvy. if ...

Do i suck at bluffing??
hello zota- i just wanted to say that i have experienced this myself, but i try to make sure i have an escape plan.... when you pot committed yourslef, you didnt give yourself an escape plan. but on the flop, i do like a continuation bet to possibly throw your opp. off. it was good that you raised in cutoff with A10 hearts as the only hands you fear are the top 5 pkt pairs... and with 3 players to act behind you, it is unlikely they have something. although your M was 20, i dont think you HAD to pot committ yourself against the chip leader as you can lose all your chips. but anyways, all in ...

JJ on button, after small stack all-in, one caller
hello meglomaniacD, the way I was always taught, when someone pushes all-in small-stacked doesnt mean a monster, considering how the player plays. then when a loose-aggressive player immediately calls, means he doesnt have much of a hand, maybe an AQ,or something weaker(small pkt pair) if you say he played his 5-8 and other trash hands, then it makes all the sense in the world to push, to make a stand, with your JJ, because you have to consider that you have the best hand. they both probably have A-rag and AJ or higher. dont you think Spot woulda raised if he had something bigger than your ...

Folding AA preflop?
if u say ur in 9th outta 23 and 22 move on,, and u raise and SB pushes u all in... why would u wanna risk it.. if ur gonna be able to fold to the money to begin with'... if u call... and get busted out... what r u gonna think' According to Harrington... folding is the key option by far, and call me crazy, but if there is no difference between 1st and 22.. folding is the option for u... just basically fold every hand until u make ur seat!.. I'm Missing Something. And it Sucks.
hello. I know EXACTLY how you feel as it happens to EVERYONE. Its not your fault if you get unlucky in MTT, just wasnt your tourney. If you play tight early and pick up one hand within the first hour and end up with 2100 chips., youre still going to have an M of 14 after break. You will then have to tighten up until you have a real hand, since most people at your table will be playing aggressive. A good rule of thumb i like to use is: dont worry about the average stack, but worry about being high stack at your table. It takes time to make a final table and requires lotsa luck. The cards will ...

Did i make the correct call?? (very beginning of $50 90ppl)
i personally would've raised on the flop. Probably a pot raise too, i dont want anyone having any kind of draws to be drawing on me and it is very likely that someone has an AQ or AK so you will get paid off anyways. As far as limping with JJ.... thats outta the question. Why would you want to limp with JJ when you can get to play against one single opponent or 2 instead of 3 or 4 which the odds decrease considerably. You have to figure you have the best hand here preflop to make a nice raise. If you did limp, and 4 people are in with you and the flop is the same,, what would you do now' You ...

attack of the donks on UB!!
first of all i want to let everyone know that i havent posted anything in a while, but this one is great... First of all, i enter the 5$ BI MTT on Aug 24th @11pm. I double up on the 2nd hand with 7h8h, and the flop comes 796, then a 7 on the turn, busting out AA. So i am sittin about 3k in chips when i start catching a hugre run of cards and make a charge for the chip leader, late into the 2nd break.. catching pkt 7s and floping quads and etc. After the 2nd break, i was sittin with 20k in chips after my kk took out AJ for another 5k pot. Then, after the 3rd break, i had taken a couple of bad ...
