Re:Menlo= weak-tight? Only 3 possible explanations to the KK hand. 1. He's a superuser and knew a 10 was gonna hit 2. he is psychic and knew a 10 was gonna hit 3. Misclick. Maybe multi-tabling and the 5k popped up and he misclicked fold. Happens to me all the time. Those of you that are waiting for menlo to respond with a logical explanation for folding KK in some particular spot in a winner take all structure are crazy Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Lay down a K high flush? I think that you played the hand fine until the river. With a board of Jc Tc Qc Rag 2c I prolly just check call the river. With 1 player still to act and 4 flush cards on the board, you will often get more value out of your king high flush with a check on the river. When you check you might get hands like 2 pair, sets, and small flushes to bet and you can happily call. As played, you bet 2/3 the pot on the river making it hard for the hands that you beat to call, and you showed strength to the A high flush leaving the door open for a big reraise which put you in an uncomfortable situation. ... Re:Final Table hand please give me some advice Just shove it in pre and scoop the 5550 and increase your stack by 15%. AK is still just a big drawing hand and you should only trap in rare occasions when you have an aggressive table with players left to act that will certainly stick in a raise, in which case you come back over the top. Remember AK is the type of hand where you want to see 5 cards. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:A spot that I find myself in. What is the best way to play it. In a battle of the blinds situation as you described, you need to take a couple of things into consideration. You indicated that your opponent would defend his blind with a wide range of hands. So lets give him a preflop range of about 22+, (A,2+), (K,7+), (Q,8+), (J,9+) and we can even throw in a couple 78s, 98s, ect. The flop comes Qs 5h 3h. You bet and he reraises. Considering there is only 1 overcard on the board this narrows his reraising range to something like 33, 55+, (Ah,2h+), (Kh,7h+), (Qh,8h+), (jh,9h+), (7h8h), (8h9h), or something. QdJd is about a 65% favorite to win against ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

UTG with 9bb Ok first let me explain the situation. I am playing the $230 buy in second chance tournament at the Borgata Winter open. 6000 starting chips with 265 players with 30 minute levels. I have 56k with 15 players left after losing a big preflop race QQ to Ak obv and my table is playing 7 handed. The feild is extremely weak with 1 player 2 seats to my right holding almost 1/4 of the chips in play and is playing his stack very well. The ave is around 106k but my 56k stack still sits around 7th or 8th. Obv the majority of the money sits in the top 5 spots. Blinds increase to 4 and 8k with 1k ante ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): final table 109 With you disconnected, I was thinking 2 to 2.5x. I chose to push because both times you bet on the button with springhiller in the big blind you got repopped all in. And the second time you called with A8. luckily he only had A8. Didn't want to get stuck folding to a weak ace, small pair, Kq, ect. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

$55 25k gtd final table 4 handed Here's the hand. Played with Freddy on several tables throughout the tourny and he played very aggressive , isolated with Q6s against a short stack on the final table. All this said I call off all my chips with AKs after he shoved all in against the small stacks open raise. Bad call or insta call.
