1/2 NL hand at the Taj So ive been grinding on my $200 stack for about an hour and im roughly even. Folds to co who limps I raise OTB to 12 with QdQs SB - loose player calls BB - Young lag calls co - folds Flop 8h 8x 6h SB checks BB leads for 20 Spot 1: Read is he obv has a draw or hit the flop. I feel that leading an 8 is in his range however not 86, 88 or 66. He also just doubled someone up so he was on tilt and defending his blind lightly. SB seemed to be goofing around on his PF call. I call SB calls. Turn 10h. Spot 2: SB checks BB checks. At this point I know the heart is a scare card, and at least 1 ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:tough spot This spot sucks. I think calling turn>raising because he never bet folds turn with an ace however and is more likely to 3 barrel bluff than bet fold turn with an ace. Depending on how tight he is you could make a very strong case for folding. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:call or fold? I'd fold, mainly cause my tourney strategy is to not call off my chips in race scenerios. The math may say this is a call, however I would still lay it down. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Did I play this wrong? Fold preflop>Reraise preflop>call preflop If for some reason you play J7 out of position check raise the flop, and I'm not sure but I think you have to call on the turn anyways, you should have shoved the turn. Anyways this whole hand is a mess and you should simply fold PF to avoid messing around with such a bad hand out of position with only a 30BB stack. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): call or fold You played the flop bad, with the amount of chips you had and the size of a bet just fold. The turn you could semi bluff all in which surely would have made your river decision easier. The river is an easy fold as it is 1/2 of your chips and you only have bottom pair. The better could have no pair and a busted draw or be bluffing even 3rd pair with a flush draw. In addition he is betting OOP which makes me feel like he slowplayed a set. Sure i know you are probably going to say you called and he had a busted draw but in a tournament with a short stack you don't want to be calling either check ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): Results Let me explain my logic for shoving 1. Mathematically-He needs to not have a 10 here more than 1050/1950 times or 54% of the time in order to make shoving -EV 2. He can call me down with a worse hand, suspecting that I am bluffing 3. He can very well fold a better hand such as bottom set or a higher 2 pair 4. Winning this pot is actually very important because a 1950 - 1050 chip advantage is huge in a heads up SNG 5. Re(3): Need advice on AKs You played it fine, if the guy isn't going to fold 2nd pair he obviously isn't going to fold anything to a reraise and your hand beats his raising range. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Heads up $6.50 first hand river decision I have absolutely no read on this guy as it is the first hand, I could raise OOP preflop but being the first hand I decide not to. Putting in the 3rd raise on the turn may have been a mistake but I was trying to knock out any flush/straight draw combinations or combo draws and I am almost 100% sure I have the best hand as the only hands he could have in my opinion that beat me are K 10 or 7-7. River decision.... A. Shove, he can only call with a straight and there is 900 chips in the pot, and possibly he may call with a worse 2 pair B. Check and then re-evaluate on his action/get a cheap ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): 20k gtd easy fold? I dont think leading this flop was the best play. I think you should check and then re-evaluate after its his turn to act. Maybe C/C just to get the turn card. As played he can still have TT or JJ and think you are bluffing or even AK because i feel like your line is weak and is never AA/KK so he can bluff this spot with a wiffed AK or AQ. Re(2): Hand from FTP $163 40k G'td I disagree, smooth calling is the best advice in this situation. You have position on the original raiser and it allows you to get away from QQ in this exact situation. In addition let say you reraise and you still get a caller you lose more chips if an A or K flops. I would probably fold here just because its very early in the tourney, you are probably against AK and there is no reason to race. AA/KK are also options. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): river shove, do you call/fold? No offense but you played this hand really poorly. You can re-raise preflop, but not that important. I very much re-raise on the flop and for sure on the turn. If he has a set on the turn he folds, if he has a K-high flush all the money gets in and our life becomes easy. You can't just play passive poker, thats how you get outdrawn. Re(7): late in a s-n-g In a MTT this is a fine 're-steal' even though it is probably the best hand. In a SNG you need to fold. ICM clearly has this as a fold, shoving is -EV as you will only get called if you are beat and there is no reason to race. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): EVER slowplay?? I think the advise above is terrible. Your opponent was very aggressive and you gave him great odds to call preflop, but it was still a -EV call because you had KK. Therefore your raise was great. You got all the mony in the flop as an 80-20 favorite....so whats wrong with the play. If he had 7-8 and flopped 2 pair then we could say you played the flop poorly, but against a loose aggressive player slowplaying this and letting them hang themselves with 2nd pair on the flop worked out great. You are gambling by not raising a lot preflop but when they hit 1 pair and you have the overpair you get ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Queens early in $55 stars mtt Online many peoples ranges are simply AA, KK, and AK. If you think about their logic, they KNOW you have a hand you raised 7 BBs and there is there is 18.5 BBs of dead money out there. If he has let say AK and repots it to 1300 he is OOP and will get 2 callers. In theory he could have TT or JJ or AQ but there is NO reason why he isn't open shoving AA KK or AK. In addition the smoothcaller may have you beat but that is unlikely. Personally I fold here because there is no need to gamble this early and you know you can pick up a better spot than this. Re(1): This is a flat call right? 99 on button - 14k Guarantee I am assuming you are already in the money. A flat call here might be the best option since you have position. There is no good size for you to 3 bet here because you would need to 3 bet at least t7,000 to get him to fold and at that point you have 40% of your chips in. I think calling then re-evaluating the flop is best. If he fires the flop when it comes A x x you have to go with your read, but I think a shove here is too much of an overbet that he will only call if he is ahead or racing. Re(1): 99 on the button on the Final Table bubble This hand is entirely read dependant. If you think your opponent is restealing then shove...if your opponent is a nit you could make a case for folding.....without a read this is an easy call as you have position and you are getting over 2 to 1 to make the call. Re(1): Check to on the river -- sng hand. I think an all in bet is the correct move. He has 1500 behind, and will only call with an ace or better I assume. You are essentially getting 2 to 1 to shove, and I think its more than a 50% chance he folds. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Late MTT situation If you fold you will be down to chip average with only 13 BBs. If you call and win you will be over 1 million in chips. I think you have to gamble here and race. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
