This will cure you of Bad-Beatitis Pokerstars is all about swings! You may be in a coinflip with AK vs JJ, you will hit on the flop, you may even get two pair on the turn, but the river is going to be a jack. You can call it. I often do. Or maybe you will have 55 vs A3 all in pre-flop. You are in good shape. But each street will bring the guy more outs. The flop will invariably bring a back door flush or straight. It may come on the turn or the river, but regardless how often it SHOULD happen, you will find that if you make a bet the size of your buy-in with someone that you WILL lose, you will make a sweet profit over ... Re(1): Home Game Help...... If it was a first offence or the chick was stacked and there was at least a 5% chance of a shag later, I would handle it like this. Wait untill the decision is made to call or fold. If it is called, then let Player B see the hand and decide whether to play the turn and river. If he says no, the hand is dead and everyone gets their chips back (incl. blinds). If he says yes, the hand plays. Let everybody know that they cannot get advice from anyone else at the table while the hand is in play. Next time the player who does this will lose the pot and their seat. Re(1): 3 seconds apart Hand 1: Lame. If your only play with JJ is the all-in panic push, then you are going to either win small pots or lose big ones. What is wrong with an 8x raise' Lets face it, you would call it a bad beat even if the cards came 279 5 K. You just cant handle losing a race. Hand 2: Lame. He was shortstacked and suited connectors were as good as anything to bust on. If you are even playing the $10 SNGs you really need to move down a level of two. Posted in: Bad Beats |

Re(3): Holy lord...have you EVER seen a worse preflop call than this? What sort of donk shoves from UTG with 12k behind and blinds at 100/200' I mean, you have AA and you make a play that will most often only collect the blinds and antes' What sort of idiot does that' You do know that you cannot get a better starting hand preflop than AA, right' If you dont raise for value with it, with what are you going to raise for value' All you must ever do is shove or fold. You would think that after a couple of these "bad beats" CaliAllStar2 would stop shoving aces, but no, he does it over and over again. Posted in: Bad Beats |

Re(2): Changes to the 2008 WSOP If by hot, steamy tent you mean an oversized hockey shirt, then yes! We can confirm that Phil Hellmuth is entering the Whose-Man-Boobs-Looks-Most-Like-Real-Girl-Boobs heads-up tournament. Word is that Phil is taking this one seriously as a bracelet will be on the line. I expect he will soon begin preperation with gruelling 7-hour electrolysis sessions. Phil has informed me that he reckons his superior nipples will give him the edge he needs. He has told me that he is calling in all his favours from all his famous friends for this one, including the top notch coreographer, Reverend Janet ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(5): So UB rang me in NZ today about a promotion... Bonuses are many people's bread and butter. Take them where you can. If you are a high volume user (ie generates a lot of rake) the sites will love you. So when youre account is inactive for a short time they will often send you incentives to return to their room. This seems a v. good deal, but there is likely a catch, though, probably nothing too onerous. Something like, you have play X raked hands, or collect so many reward points, or maybe a cash out delay. Check the conditions. It may be that you have to do some serious multitabling to clear the bonus in a decent time. lick my balls, ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): Will no longer defend pokerstars... Time off will help. You got unlucky. Are you playing too high' You should play at levels where if you lose AA vs 22, you dont really care, auto-buy-in, and get on with things. You might say "Doh! nkay!" but you dont let it put you on tilt. This will also help you play more aggressively, something which it is difficult to do at too high levels. Posted in: Bad Beats |

Re(1): Will no longer defend pokerstars... You come here, to POCKETFIVES, to complain about pocket fives sucking out on aces' Boy, you got some nerve! And the second one is just bad luck. You may say he should never have called your small raise with a small pocket pair, but that outcome is EXACTLY why people do it. If they hit their low set, you are likely to over value your over pair and they can scoop a large pot. Posted in: Bad Beats |
