Political Rant We all are expected to walk that straight line to Las Vegas to put our poker money in real casinos, real dealers, and real rake. All because Bill Frist, decided to put a couple lines in a bill most likely the result of his 10th or 12th largest campaigned contributor Harrah's. To make a long story short I take down iron man freeroll, win it. Take down bronze and silver heads-up freeroll and head to Trader Joes for a 1/2 pound of smoked salmon to celebrate the win with my full tilt t-shirt on. I get to the checkout and a worker, notices the t-shirt and we take up a conservation and I seem a ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Political Rant About 2 years ago I use to post on this board as a left wing democrat. Anyways Is it time to end the post office' They have been running deeply in the red and would it not be better if they were a tax payer and pay corporate taxes rather than pay no taxes and live rent free on government owned land. We could sell the post office, collect corporate tax, and charge rent to use the post offices to the highest bidder. Is it time to allow people to buy products from non-union shops. I try to go into Fresh and Easy and these union types are out there protesting for the right to take over the ... Posted in: Off Topic |

*** Official "Time to Fight Back" Thread *** The government is at fault. It is legal to play on Foreign online poker sites. If I remember correctly it may be legal for sites to transfer money from the poker sites to your bank account (UIGEA only covered money going the other way). Did FTP and PS shut their sites down to U.S. players, or did the government shut their sites down' "The companies took about a third of the payments as their cut for hosting the poker games, the DOJ said." Las Vegas takes far more! Online poker is far cheaper and safer. The rakes are $3 per hand online and $1.50 after rakeback and bonuses, while casinos often ... Posted in: Poker Legislation |

If you could start up a small business I think a good business might be a metals exchange. Where you can buy-sell copper-zinc-gold-aluminum-zinc-nickle as inflation hedges. A small shop could be networked into a national chain. There is gold vending machine that makes 50K profit a month I think. However, a live shop should do better. When I was a kid in the 1970s minigolf courses, outdoor movies, and bowling alleys were everywhere. I have fond memories of these places. I really feel sorry for the youth of today. 2011 stocks / economy predictions? 3rd year terms of presidents are always bullish. That with some stocks still undervalued, imho will lead to 20% gains. GLD and SLV might correct to $10 per ounce for silver. Real estate is still a great long term investment however it will probably be flat for year, but I think it will clearly show real estate is at bottom. Posted in: Off Topic |

What cities have similar climates to San Diego? I really think if you do the math the most ideal poker spot is Manhattan Beach/Redondo Beach/Hermosa Beach California. If you rent it is not too bad. You have online and you have quick access to Hustler/Normandie/Hollywood Park/TheBike/Commerce casinos. Quick access to catch a flight to Las Vegas too. Sebok I think has a place on the water I think in Redondo. Ontario or Inland 1 mile might be cheaper. Florida might be cheaper overall. Posted in: Off Topic |

Dollar going busto... Well I would keep my eye on the cpi or this site. There is a catch 22. You need a bankroll to play higher stakes and you will lose your money to inflation. I will choose to play high stakes. However, we now have a republican house and a yes man president. What that means is they are going to get tough on spending. Thus, I expect a lot less wanton spending the next 2 years. The democrats still have expiring tax cuts to perform some spending as a blackmail to pay off the crooks that financed them into office. Ron Paul is the only answer. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Should I or should I not claim prize (tourny ticket, etc) using FTP points? If I remember right the best bang for your points are ftops tournaments. US Post Office loses 8.5 billion dollars last year, WTF The post office operated break-even or at a profit for years/decades. I think this year they were suppose to raise rates, but they were stopped. The solution is very easy, increase postage rates until it is break even. It is not suppose to be operating at a loss. G.W. Bush increased the pay of the post office tops. They should fire those fools and go back to low cost labor possible. Using the post offices for a health care clinics could save tons of money for the taxpayers too. Health care is more important that firefighting or libraries that are also government run. Imho , it is as ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Rand Paul Debate October 25th October 25th Debate. #p/u/2/O9tnXpB8he4 Minute 11:02 Presidents Obama 2 trillion dollar deficit. The facts are the deficit is 100% the result of president Bush and Reagans unfunded spending and tax cuts. Bush started with a 2.1 trillion budget and left with a 3 trillion budget (with no new revenues). When the economy was in expansion we were still running deficits. Clinton left with a surplus, in expansion, he did so with pay as you go and cutting government. To blame Obama for $2 trillion in debt, is not even factual, Obamas 1st budget year just ended September 30, 2010. Cutting 0.3 ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Bush Tax Cuts to Expire. We could easily could and should eliminate income, capital gains taxes by taxing only the gross margin of businesses. The whole idea of decreasing taxes to help the economy is logic that is backed by no facts. The best econmy immediately after WWII, where the surplus was about 50% of revenues collected, occurred when the top tax rates were at historical highs 90%. But, the point is when you are in deficit you have two options increase taxes or decrease spending. There is the 3rd option taxing savers (deficit spending), but that is denied by the constitution under the penalty of death ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Bush Tax Cuts to Expire. It pretty much does. If you look at the history of the inflation before 1930, you would see there were periods of high inflation and high deflation but the average inflation was basically zero. Presently we should be in a period of deflation, but Obama the banks, government employees, and federal contractors stole the money that should be going to lower prices (bailouts, stimulus). We should be paying $1.50 a gallon for gas. Just so you understand the congress approves increasing the debt ceiling say from $13 trillion to $14 trillion. Now banks buy this debt, as the interest rates rise from ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Bush Tax Cuts to Expire. Prior to about 1930 we were on the gold/silver standard. Thus, you could go panning for gold and when you were done for the day you could go to the government and they would turn your gold into coins for free. However, after about 1930 and definitely after 1972 the currency was determine by the amount of currency in circulation, not the amount of metal in the coins. Thus, debasing currency would take the new meaning of increasing the money supply and it would be no different than shaving coins. Posted in: Off Topic |

Bush Tax Cuts to Expire. Do you support allowing Bush Tax Cuts to Expire' I went on youtube today, they tried to trick me into signing a petition to keep the Bush tax cuts. According to the Coinage Act of 1792, under section 19 provides for the death penalty for those who debase the currency. Any member of Congress, managerial members of the Federal Reserve, Treasury, or the President that knowingly debases the currency should get death. We are presently running a $1.3 trillion deficit. The national debt is $13,378,000,000,000. Every dollar of deficit debases the currency by 1/13,378,000,000,000th. To keep the Bush ... Posted in: Off Topic |
