Re:Anyone who still plays on UB and has been to Aruba...couple questions
I haven't noticed a decrease in players. IMO, the overall caliber of player changed significantly for the worse 3 or 4 years ago and has been the same since. The MTT's are typically not the donkfest that you see on Stars & the fields are much more managable. Of course, the payouts are less as well. SnG play is about the same as Stars, but it takes longer for games to fill. If UB & AP ever merge into one server, then the cash games will become very profitable. One big advantage of UB is the Ultimate Buddy. It makes it great for a tracking fish. And, of course, there is ...

The Perfect Bluff (long post/ in-depth discussion)
I have found the perfect bluff! The setting - level three of a MTT with the blinds at 15/30 and starting stack of 1000. Thus far, Villain’s play has been that of a nit and Hero has utilized the wisdom found in my book, "Using Bad Luck to Maximize a Total Lack of Skill." The hand unfolds thusly: fold, limp, limp, (Hero) limp, folds, fold, Btn raises to 195 (a little over pot), Sb calls 195, and Bb (Villain) shoves all 1160 chips w/ AKo. (The silly boy in the Bb was trying to squeeze, or at least isolate, the initial raiser. But, he forgot just whom he was up against!) The action ...

ClubWPT / UB / Software Question
I just signed up on Club WPT for grins & giggles. It looks like they use exactly the same software as UB. Does this mean that "our friend" could use his backdoor access to look at everyone's hole cards on this site too' No, I'm not worried about somebody winning 700k play chips or cheating me out of a trip in a freeroll. I'm just curious if the backdoor is vendor specific or universal.

Re:My first and last politcal thread...
And after all this, Barry throws Wright under the bus! lmao! Did you catch that news confernce' He acted surpised and "outraged" by Wright's remarks! rofl Next thing you know, Mikie Moore will fabricate a film of Obama sleeping through one of Wright's rants... that would explain how Barry got so confused. Even Oprah had the sense to realize Wright was bad news & ditched him. Please give me a break. Barry, if you hate your country, go ahead and admit it. This thread proves you will have lots of supporters. But, don't piss on my boot and tell me it's raining.

Re(1): Poker Hating Wife Alert - HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Marriage counseling would be great, but sounds like you are not interested. Let me suggest John Gray's book... Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. He made it into a video series ... get the videos and watch them WITH her. Key focus for her is a man's need for what he calls "Cave time" and his rubber band analogy. Key focus for you is how to listen & pay attention to her in a way that she values. It is important to watch together because it will give you a common language and experience. And no, I don't work, know, or in any way have a stake in John Gray's ...

Lots of us read posts by frustrated people. But how many of us immediately shoot an PM to a person who is barely an acquaintance, offer immediate & beneficial help, share contact information, and say, "feel free to email me any time." I haven’t, but KK has. Say what you want about UB & dis whomever you want. But, I really appreciate this guy.

Re(1): UB's new RAI$E program
KK, you know that I've stayed w/ UB through thick & thin, so this is not a flame. However, I have some concerns about the new program that I hope you can clear up for me: Re Bonus$: As I read it, they have doubled the number of points needed to redeem bonus money. It's gone from $1 for every 10 points to $1 per 20 points for bottom 3 levels & even Icon status pays only $1 per 18 points. (This takes into account the multiplier effect.) Re the value of UltimatePoints: The # of points needed to buy stuff seems to be lower, but not nearly by half. Re tournament buy-ins: It appears ...

leggggggggggy Imposter is back at UB
For those who don't know..... This guy comes around every so often asking if anyone wants to make a deal - ususally TEC/Cash swap. He wants you to think he is our hero, but he lies. This punk is easy to spot - he doesn't have 10 'g's in his name, he doesn't use ALL CAPS, and biggest tell is that he can spell! ;) Anyway, the guy is back. That is all.

Re(1): UB... WTF IS WRONG WITH U ???
The only think I despise more than a whiner is whining myself. However, the situation at UB is beyond ridiculous. I’ve stuck with them through thick and thin, but now I’m asking myself what’s the point' I’m amazed at just how much crap I’ve put up w/ in terms of customer nonservice (great 1 legg…gy); server crashes; stupid decisions followed by foot dragging & minimal resolution; having to go to friends for solutions instead of the company; the current problem of the client using waaaaaaay to many resources; and on and on …for YEARS!! You know, the current tournament-rescheduling ...

Re(1): What is UB thinking???
UB has been my home site since I started playing online a few years ago. Nothing big time - just a few tournaments per day on average. However, now the only time I ever login there is to play the ECREW tournament. And, frankly, since it's not worth the effort to cash out, I'm planning on playing ECREW until my $ runs out or SQ gets tired of the hassle. So very sad that such great features as Ultimate Buddy and the perfect tournament structure go to waste. If Stars or FT ever offers these, it will be all over for UB, if it's not already. So far, Shawn, Legg..gy, SQ, KK, & others have ...

Re(6): What is Party going to do
The more I think about it, the more I think Party is not even payingout the $9.4M that the players contributed! Like he said above, they are paying based on maximum players. That is not great for the weekly and monthly tournaments. But it is ablsolutely horrible when it comes to Grand Final prize pool because they are using today's value of the prize pool, but the future number of players. The prize pool was growing at about $100k per week. It seems to me that they should take the current prize pools and multiply them by the number of current ticket holders and the percentages of those ...

Re(1): Party steps question
Monster freeroll payout is as follows... BUT YOU MUST CONVERT IT TO CASH.. so go to your account and do dat. BTW, when cashing out your money, they give you an option to donate... be careful which button you click. Cash values for each freeroll (not taking into account any future value): Grand final: ( $14,405,786 Prize Pool / 8,000 players ) = $1,800.72 per player Monthly: ( $1,000,000 Prize Pool / 8,000 players ) = $125.00 per player Weekly: ( $100,000 Prize Pool / 8,000 players ) = $12.50 per player Probability of advancing from one tournament to another: Weekly to Monthly = ( 2,000 ...

Re(4): What is Party going to do
True, but this is sooooo much better than just paying out the $9.4M that players contributed to the prize pools. They left their $17M in the prize pool... and this is after their stock dropped from $158 to $16 or whatever it was.

Amazing at it sounds, they are not pulling out their 17M contribution to the prize pools and are distributing the prizes according to the following formula: Cash values for each freeroll (not taking into account any future value): Grand final: ( $14,405,786 Prize Pool / 8,000 players ) = $1,800.72 per player Monthly: ( $1,000,000 Prize Pool / 8,000 players ) = $125.00 per player Weekly: ( $100,000 Prize Pool / 8,000 players ) = $12.50 per player Probability of advancing from one tournament to another: Weekly to Monthly = ( 2,000 players advancing / 8,000 players advancing ) = 1 out of ...
