"The Takers" is such a sick movie
don't bag on it if you haven't seen it because I thought the same thing.....but action scenes are pretty sweet and storyline actually flows pretty well....it's not like you haven't spent 2 hours on a bad movie before and this isn't even close to being a bad flick

"The Takers" is such a sick movie
IDK if this is a repost, but has to be one of the sickest crime/action movies in a long....even better than "The Town"....and TI produced it, which is even more amazing. Anyone have any thoughts about the movie or disagreements with this statement and why''

that's a dick comment....just seeing if other people in OT might have some valuable experience with this kind of situation....and it appears they do, so keep your shitty comments to yourself My coach is John Gilchrist, head pro at local country club I worked at, used to play at Mizzou, been head pro for 15+ years, etc. I get up and down around 1/2 the time, but I hit around 12-15 greens per round on average 6' 4 240lbs, left handed, go-to-shot is a high draw, but can hit a cut if needed My yardages: Driver - 290-300+ 3 wood - 240-260 3I- 230 4I- 220 5I- ...

My girlfriend is a nurse and we would be splitting rent. Pretty much everything else is on me....I had thought about a side job at night, but that would make it hard to focus on golf....I have 6 months until my work contract is up, so hopefully I can save as much as I can before I dip out

I have had one swing coach in my whole life...he's a great player, better teacher, and we get along really well....and FWIW, I am not a scratch, I was +1 when I struggle and as high as a +4 when I was had it going......I get what you are saying tho....but saving a couple more years means settling into my desk job and gf in my hometown, and that's not what I want...it's pretty much going to start this year or I will pocket the 20k and dump it into MTTs on the interwebz tyvm saxman, always appreciate the support! I like the way you think!

interesting story hostile, I look forward to any story or advice you have. I was thinking a shot at Q-School would be my best chance on at least getting some status somewhere, but if you don't make it past stage 2, it's almost all for nothing.

Wow. I am not one for being sappy, but this is downright inspirational...TY sir. I may not be good enough now(according to choco lol), but I'm going to put everything I can into this opportunity. I have 6 months at my desk job and then I'm laying it all out....if I crash and burn, at least I know. Thanks again for story and GL with all you do sir.

Yessss - I actually really considered this! I wouldn't mind living in an RV, as you know, a place of my own TY sir for the best wishes, I appreciate it. The point of the thread was to find out which place to play at(which state is cheapest to live in) and which route to go as to whether I should just try Q-school or start at a low level mini tour.

Sory sir, but that's completely unrealistic....you're meaning to tell me every single player on tour was always a stud before they made it' Olin Browne shot 93 and was cut from his college team qualifier, before turning pro and playing on the PGA Tour by the time he was 30....so you're incorrect here....and last I checked, 65 was decent....if I wasn't trying to improve, I wouldn't have posted the thread :)

So if you beat Chris Baryla several times, and he made it, what kept yourself from making it' I've played and beaten several people that are making it and attempting to do so....which pretty much gave me the confidence to at least try.

I'm right there with you man - plan on playing usual schedule such as: State Mid-Am, State Pub Links, US Open qualifying, and State AM before making debut at John Deere classic pre-qualifying...good luck to you as well sir, PM me and let me know what your plans are, I wouldn't mind hearing your plans just to compare and see what all of the options are, you know' Is housing expensive' Gateway tour is like almost 20k per year by itself, so I had pretty much written this off as not happening...but I have a buddy who plays in AZ as a pro, and he loves it, so I guess I should look into it...

Yeaaaa, that's why I didn't want to do Hooters Tour during the summer - the traveling and tournament costs are wayyyy more than if I started in a localized tour(Hooters Winter Tour in Orlando or Myrtle Beach or Moonlight golf tour in Orlando)....I'd end up paying around 8k-10k on a full season on those tours. Gateway tour is more expensive, but traveling isn't tough or far away from centralized point.

I thought Florida would be a good spot to start, since they have housing is cheap and that is where the majority of golf tours/courses are located at. What would my other choices be' Is it cheaper overseas somewhere' What would be easier between Arizona and Florida'

ty sir - that's the crazy part is I've never been one to practice on the range much, I just enjoy playing. I know for me to make it, I will need to practice and focus harder than I ever have before.

I know it seems like this :( just noticed how self-absorbed my post seems.....but I'm more looking for ideas such as places to play, state to live in, just go straight to q-school or try smaller tours first....just general advice since I've lived in the same city my whole life and am embarking on this journey pretty much w no experience of being on the road.....just figured poker traveling and golf traveling kind of mirror each other, so poker players could have good insight to this as well.

Here is my situation - I am an avid golfer and have played for the last 15 years(since I was 9). I played all 4 years in college on scholarship and have improved pretty much every year I played since high school. I have been between a +1 and +3 handicap the last 2 years with a career low score of 65 in a tournament. I hit the ball a ton (300+ yards with the driver) and can putt the lights out when I'm on, even though the people I play with say my iron game is my best aspect of my skill. I have 20k saved up to move away and play on a mini-tour and q-school to give myself a chance to make it ...

My situation and some poker questions
I agree, I guess that's why I posted about it.....I play anywhere from $10-$100 SNGs, so I guess I'm just wondering if it is sustainable to do....I just want to be able to grind out the most consistant results I can and wanted to know what my chances were and what might be the best route to my goal - thanks for all the input! I appreciate it all, esp. hearing from people with results to back it up

My situation and some poker questions
What about HU SNGs' Also, I play alot of PLO and PLO H/L, so varience might be more of an issue as well, but people know how to play these games at a much lower level than NLHE....if you had a 3kish roll and you wanted to reach this goal, what would you do' Anyone that feels like replying, please feel free to do so.....more insight would be much appreciated!!

My situation and some poker questions
do you say this due to high varience in HU games and the inability to keep up large stats on a consistant basis, like what the first person said' I can play 2-3 tables at a time, but don't have much experience with this.....would 2-3 tabling HU SNGs be almost like the same thing' would my goal be attainable'

My situation and some poker questions
I understand what you're saying.....but $100 extra per day can't be that diffcult.....so if it's that impossible to do it playing cash, what are my best options' what would you do if you were trying to do what I'm doing' I have a decent enough roll not to have to grind micro stakes.

My situation and some poker questions
I have a real world job that I go to 40 hours a week. I live with my girlfriend who doesn't really enjoy poker or understand it, so my playing time is very limited. I don't play full time professionally at all, but I feel like I have the skill to play to supplement my regular income. Since I can't play frequently, I feel forced into playing HU SNGs and HU Cash to make my money. I have to resort to having a monetary amount goal per day instead of being able to grind a certain number of hours a week. First off, are HU super turbo SNGs beatable with rake' I do not use rakeback either. How ...
