Exactly what part about it is so strange' With the exception of TB, all of these cities have watched and welcomed Chipper in their ballpark for 20 years. He is going to be missed and the teams are just saying "good bye" in their own special way. Its not like they are handing the keys to the city to him or anything like that.

Foul was definitely before the inbounds. And for those who will just say "well Horford ended up getting 2 freethrows and blowing it anyways" are forgetting that its 2 freethrows AND possession in that situation. Just yet another (about 18 others) example of the refs doing their best to ensure a Boston win. Nothing short of laughable that KG didn't pick up a foul til the 3rd qtr after molesting everyone on defense and setting illegal screens every trip down court. I hate it when people complain about refs..... but it was absolutely impossible to ignore while watching that game.

And Joe Johnson had a typical game too. He usually goes 0-9 for threes. The whole "we played that bad and it was still THAT close" argument doesn't quite work when the winning team played pretty shitty also.

Were your gifts from Santa wrapped?
Havent checked this thread in a few days- looks like the unwraps made a comeback. I'm not weird afterall. I somehow won the argument (somehow) and my two young daughters received unwrapped gifts from Santa.

For what its worth I asked around at work. So far 6 unwrapped vs 2 wrapped. Seems the ratio on here is nearly the opposite. Question 2 (not starting a new thread): Did you guys have presents under the tree for a week or two leading up to Christmas or were all of them placed under the tree while you were in bed. Obviously the Santa ones wouldn't show up til Christmas Eve but my wife said even the gifts from her parents did not show up under the tree til Christmas Eve. My parents on the other hand had gifts under the tree for 10-14 days or so prior to Christmas.

I had the exact same feelings opening all of my other gifts (from parents). I guess my "big gifts" weren't always from Santa' Can't remember- I'm guessing it was random as far as if my "big gifts" were from Santa or from Mom and Dad. Obviously the gifts that were literally big (bikes, basketball goal, etc.) were from Santa since those couldn't be wrapped. Looking back, I didn't feel as though I missed out. In fact, after my sister and I found out there was no Santa Mom asked us if we still wanted some of the gifts unwrapped- we both said "yes." Some of that anticipation of opening ...

This. I still had plenty of gifts to unwrap. It was just nice to run downstairs and see a few things unwrapped that Santa had left behind. Santa leaves toys....not "gifts." Its not like you see an unwrapped toy from Santa and think "what a thoughtless bastard- he didnt even wrap my f'n gift." Its more efficient (thus believable) to drop off all of your toys rather than have all the Elves make the toys, wrap each one, and have a tag with your name on it/"from Santa", etc.

I think its the opposite. As I previously posted, the gifts being unwrapped had a special feel to it that made it seem as though Santa really was there and dropped off the toys. As other posters mentioned, I would have recognized Mom's/Dad's handwriting ASAP as well as the wrapping paper. Elves made the toys- didnt know they wrapped them too. Pretty inefficient way of doing things. Anyone else ever second guess Santa at a young age when their toys had like a "made in China/New Zealand, etc." label and not "North Pole" on them'

I still had gifts to unwrap. It was about a 50/50 split between gifts from Santa and gifts from parents. The gifts being unwrapped from Santa felt more believable- something about going downstairs and seeing all of the toys laid out that werent there when you went to bed. Im pretty sure Tim Allen in The Santa Clause didnt have his gifts wrapped.

Growing up, my gifts from my parents were wrapped and my gifts from Santa were unwrapped under the tree. My wife had ALL of her gifts wrapped, whether from Santa or her parents. We both think that the other did things pretty strangely. So which was it OT' Wrapped or unwrapped' (Someone feel free to add a poll- not sure how to do that- is it only for MODs')

Pretty sick how evenly matched up these two teams are. Pretty hard to argue that one side is clearly better than the other. I would be shocked if the NLCS wasn't Philly v. Braves (unless SF plays out of their minds at exactly the right time again and luckboxes their way through the post season).

Bryce Harper Blows a Kiss To Opposing Pitcher After Hitting a HR
Standing and admiring the HR for a full 3 or 4 seconds (which is an absurdly long time) before starting your trot is enough to get one in the ear. . . the kiss should be enough to take one in the ear and not be even be warned afterward by the ump since it is so justified. Act like you have hit a homer before next time as opposed to being amazed at yourself that you blasted one over the fence.

I think its simple: If the catcher is blocking the plate (or appears to be blocking the plate as the runner has to make a split-second decision and won't always be right), then he is fair game to get pummeled. What else is a runner to do' Can't slide into home plate if its blocked (which is the difference with the other bases- they aren't blocked. If catcher is in front of the plate where it is obvious he is going to go for a swipe tag- then runner should slide and ought to be fined if it is obvious he is going out of his way to take out the catcher.

I would agree with you if all he was doing was distancing himself from FTP. He is going well beyond that by sitting out of the biggest poker event in the world. His image would be harmed by sticking by FTP' side; playing in the WSOP does NOTHING to hurt his image. For that reason, it is quite an honorable thing to do, not selfish.

**Official Bulls Punish Atlanta Game 5 Crossword Editition**
Nah- it was a mid-range jumper. I also remember several (3 or 4) times that Crawford was fouled behind the arc that wasn't called yet Rose got the call on a number of his jumpers that resulted in 3-pt plays. Bulls were clearly the better team in the 4th qtr and deserved the win but the refs can def make a team look much better and the other team much worse based on the calls. Giving a team an extra shot or two each possession or taking shots away from a team can make things much easier/harder for the team. Also, I GUESS there was a bit of a difference in Boozers elbow and Bynums but ...
