Re:is ub down?
Computer security, security vulnerabilities, and threats are a concern not only to information technology (IT) professionals, but also to anyone who uses a computer. Most companies, and many home users, live with "always on" connections to the Internet – connections that expose them to the inherent risks of viruses, intrusions, denial of service attacks, and other threats. Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA) is a tool that allows a home user or IT professional to scan Microsoft Windows-based computers for common security misconfigurations. MBSA can scan Windows servers and ...

Home game advice sought
Constructive, non-smartass comments only please, I know that's tough here but give it a try. The Basics From 18-30 players per NLHE tourney, we play two a night every other Friday that count toward a quarterly point standings championship final, with starting chip amount based on standings. Currently we have a $25 buy-in, $2500 starting chips, 15-minute levels, starting blinds of $100/100, one rebuy allowed when busted - or $1000 given for an unused rebuy thru the first 30 minutes. Money is pulled from each tourney for the quarterly final as well as a small amount for a str8 flush JP, ...

BoDog vs Absolute
Absolute is like playing in a dark, steamy alley behind a seafood restaurant that spews grease like the flaky spittle of a wasted, semi-toothed, scraggly-bearded hobo on a five-day Pabst Blue Ribbon bender while surrounded by a roving pack of greasy, man-raping Gypsies in search of a hydrocodone fix. BoDog, well, substitute "Krystal's" for seafood and "Melungeons" for Gypsies, then drink pure grain alcohol, throw up on your pants and sit in your own filth for 48 hours straight. Other than that, love those sites...But the winner is ... Doyle's Room and its ...

So glad to have brought your dreary little lives some fodder you can use in your pathetic attempts at humor. Keep it coming all you Junior Seinfelds, actually some of it is pretty cute like "I'm contacting the KGC." Guess we can expect a fine in about seven months. And' Hilarious. So who gives a rat's ass' Unsaid, but good stuff. The Yang comment' Must have taken awhile to cross the Tasman, never heard that one before. A true (and unusual) double-up

Re:Smelling Sushi at Doyles 250k
Was as pissed as anybody - wasted a whole Saturday afternoon ....etc, but much of that time was spent trying to get my AOL to get/stay connected. Eventually found out my usual dial-up numbers and those in nearby cities were down. Yes, flame away for being on dial-up, but that is the first time I have ever had a problem with it, so maybe there were others having difficulties. But ... I truly doubt this. Short of one of the Brunsons stroking out Saturday and pushing up daisies, I would think a guaranteed cash tourney also includes a guaranteed date and time. No doubt the overlay was ...

Re(2): UB's new RAI$E program
UB overlords: 1) Get the correct info inside your tourney lobbies. Have registered for too many Turbo/Rebuy tournies that are 60 minutes until the first break, not the 30 minutes a turbo is supposed to be. A half-dozen emails over a couple of weeks didn't get the problem fixed, the support people seemed clueless. 2) Bring back the Ultra Turbos, such as the 11:50 a.m. EST $11 satellite to the 2 p.m. 100+9. Also the ultras to the Sunday $200 and $500, as well as to any large buy-in tourney such as the new $150+12 and Aruba and WPT super sats. 3) Throw in the occasional Bonus Dollar tourney. ...

Re(5): Are winnings taxable in the U.S.?
at lake tahoe in march, my bank sent 4K via ACH to the casino's bank I was staying at, Mount Bleu. paperwork said anything above $4,000 was reported - as what I don't know. across the street at Harvey's I hit 4 aces on a video poker machine for 4K, and was given a copy of a tax form for 2K of that. less than an hour later, playing let it ride, I had $100 on the 3-card bonus for a str8 flush that paid 4K also, with the chips going right into my pocket b/c table game winnings are taxed differently. years ago I had str8 flush on LIR (long b4 the 3-card bonus) good for 5K that was taxed ...

eWalletExpress users
What poker sites besides UB offer this deposit option' Won a bit at a casino and eWallet charges 10 percent to ship it back to my bank account. Figured it would be easier to deposit at a poker site, then have them send me a check a week or so later rather than lose 200 bucks in fees. Any useful thoughts'

Re(2): Please help clear up my perception of R&A tournaments
Go with the turbo rebuys, as there is less "idiot time." Now, folks are gonna say, "I like having a few moronic donks at the table," which is fine as long as they are filling YOU up. Unfortunately, it's too often the other players who are building up huge chip counts, not me. Boo-hoo. Anyway, it can be frustrating because much of the play is so fundamentally bad, but don't let that throw you off your game, take advantage of it and wait for the moment to strike. Of course, it does suck when the poor play continues well after the rebuy period is over. The first $30 rebuy I played in at Dise I ...

Individual odds to win a UBOC NL event
The following are my individual odds on winning a UBOC NL Holdem event, based on my observations of these players at Ultimate Bet, with an emphasis on recent results, although some UB "old-timers" are certainly included. Some will be left off, accidentally or because I couldn't read the notes I took (some I can't decipher would be ranked high.) May add omissions later, and some ranked players are not as high as some may think they should be, but I don't see their names much at UB. Enjoy. 4-1 mattg1983 5 mkind0516, wild duck 6 randALLin, any UB circuit pro (hellmuth, duke, antonio, ...

Twelve Things You Probably Didn't Know About Bill Frist… Authors: Karyn, Harrison, Jonathan and Bryan Frist Source: (where you can feel free to contact His Dickness). 1) “He can open a patient’s chest and transplant their heart, yet nearly fainted when he had blood drawn for our marriage license.” It was just a little prick. 2) “He was once mugged in college, but fought the muggers off (he has a brown belt in karate) and sent all three of them to the hospital.” Well then, taking on a few hundred thousand poker players should be child's play. 3) “His first patient was his best ...

Two tournies today ... Two exits with 99 vs Ax ... Shot down with A on river. Seems to happen quite a lot to me ... Is it paranoid to believe somebody there doesn't like me' Do they push a "screw this guy on the river" button' Hopefully not. I love you, UB!

Re(3): What is UB Thinking?
Know of at least one site that offers "satellite rounding" like br is talking about, but has really, really lame payout structures, probably because most of their buy-ins are so low. The old "I cashed last night, I'll be back mentality," no matter if you only won a couple of bucks - a quarter of the field are "winners." They do, however, offer some good overlays in their two largest tournies each week as well as the WSOP seat events. JetSet also features the biggest donkey on the planet, the ultracool Edstar. With an IQ in the mid-20s, he is considered the dumbest holdem player ever, altho ...
