Re(1): serious PLO question To add to the discussion, I have another question as I have recently started to play PLO h/l: Are there any hand that are really worth raising preflop ' given that no hand is a real favorite preflop against any 4 random cards ' I often find myself raising with good "hands" like AAK2 or A234, then feel sort of committed and make mistakes against somebody who's calling any 4 cards... Two hands to discuss, input appreciated... First hand : flame on ! I know I suck as a poker player as I still can't fold a set, even when I have every reason possible to fold... I know that call on the river is horrible but I wanted to see the AQ, so bad... (PS : so tired of the cooler hand I get every sunday in the million...) Second hand : Am I drawing against AA, KK, QQ if I call or is there a chance that I am facing a wider range here, should I always fold in that spot or almost always call ' Thanks for the input. Re(1): A life poker story Thanks for sharing. Probably something to think about for most here... Family + job + poker are hard to balance. I guess the key is to have rules, I always let my wife know when I am going to be playing poker and not be available, and when I am going to be 100% available for her and the kids. Also I always make sure to go out on a "date" with my wife once a week, spend some quality time away from the house and the kids and reconnect as a couple. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Is it just me or there is something here... The more it goes the less I trust online poker... (And I am usually the first one to dismiss the claims that online poker is rigged...) I am watching the replay from the Pokerstars $530 Sunday million, after checking the stats of the guys who finished 1st and 2nd, I am kind of scratching my head as to what's going on there : - G0T T!LT' : he used to play only $3 and $5 tourneys and then in the past 3 months he only plays >$200 tourneys. Re(1): Cash GAmes now Vs. 4 months ago I totaly agree with that, last spring I was playing a lot of 2/4 NL on Stars and I would very often come to the table with $400 and leave with $1200 or more (I remember one day I went from $400 to $3000 in 2 hours, but that was really an abnormal run of luck...), and I consider myself a very average player. I ran my bankroll from 5K to 15K in 3 months playing a lot of 2/4 NL... Now I can barely break-even playing 2/4 NL... It makes me feel like I don't know how to play this game anymore. You need to realize that the only people making real money in this game are Pokerstars, FullTilt, etc... and 0.0001% of the players, all the others (me included) are in the endless cycle win/lose/win/lose/win/lose... Even people enjoying resonnable success and that don't need to constantly deposit in their account are still losers, they are just wasting their time spending hours in front of a computer rather than having a life...
