Re:At what point do I just quit. This is really getting hard to take He's right. You did raise on the button with an ace, which is a fine play, and you got all your money in as a favorite, which is also fine. The reality is that the more hands you play, the more bad beats you will see, no matter how you get your money in. Don't play weak aces for big pots and you'll be less likely to take a bad beat. Re:What the eff ESPN? I noticed this too. I didn't care since I followed the audio broadcasts, but it sucks for anyone who wanted to keep it to be a suprise. I don't think it's going to boost the ratings of tonights airing either. Oh, well. Eastgate ftw. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Late in 32k...Your Thoughts It all comes down to how much he's been stealing from the button/cut-off and his calling range at this price. Obv his calling range was fairly large, but if he's been fairly aggressive from these spots, it's a nice shove. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Should I have called here? Was I outplayed or was I chasing I wouldv'e check-called the flop but it still looks like they priced you in the whole way, but you are out of position. Not only do you lose control over the pot from out of position, it's hard to get value when you hit. In conclusion, try not to draw from out of position unless you are ridicuously priced in (not here). Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Is this a fold on river? The spade on the turn is very significant. It either completes him or scares him. Bet the turn because it sets up the river. He's probably going to smooth call the turn and look for value on the river with the flush or call the turn with another hand and check the river. Since you checked the turn, you're left guessing. Re:Late in FTOPS 1K Event - Mistake? Open fold. No one is going to call with KJ-KT. At best you're 50-50 against a pair or 60-40 against a weaker Ace. Mostly all hands that are calling here have you dominated (AK,AQ,AA,KK,QQ). Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Should I have called his all-in? Exactly. Never limp UTG unless you are looking to pull off a limp-shove. You hit the best flop you could've hoped for, so get all your money in there. If your hand is no good, then that's because JT UTG is no good. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Hand in 109 If you check-call the flop then you gain no information, especially since you don't know what kind of player you're up against. I would've made the bet a tad smaller (a litte more than 1/2 pot) just for information, that way when he min-raises, it won't kill you to just call and see what happens on the turn. Flush Draws I play in low-limits with "bad" players. When I price someone out of a pot (3/4 pot - full pot bet) and they call, can I rule that they don't have a flush draw' What happens when that third suit hits' Too many times I price people out, sometimes even on the turn too, and they show the flush. What should I do' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Is this a right call? It doesn't matter if you're going to get better than AQ in the next 2 hands. If you lose this one, there won't be 2 more hands. I think BB would call 2 all-ins with some hands weaker than AQ, but could be playing sneaky with AA-KK. What does the SB stack look like' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:hand i was flamed for Check calling a flop where you absolutely whiffed makes no sense. Do you think A4 is good on the flop and you're gonna check-call to the river with your "best hand". Are you trying to make a move from out of position where you just call in order to get him to fold'''' This makes no sense. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:SnG Help!!!!!!!!!!! It's fairly clear he's not folding. I wouldn't put him on AA-KK-QQ since his raise was so big. He'd want to build a pot instead of scaring you out like he's doing right here. It's clearly a shove or fold situation. If you shove, it's a toss-up on whether you're racing against AK (maybe AQ''') or crushing TT-99-88. If you fold you have plenty of chips left and if you shove and win you can basically run away with the tourney. Either play sounds like a good one. It really depends on how willing you are to gamble. Personally, I'd fold and use my average chip ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Low limit MTTs I'm trying to make serious runs in low-limit MTTs ($10-$20), but as you mihgt expect, they're a little bonkers and flooded with *ahem* "inexperienced players". I always seem to bust out in the first hour or head into the second hour under 10 BBs. The basic strategy I apply in these tournaments is to limp alot in position, trying to hit a monster and rake a huge pot from an unsuspecting "inexperienced player", only chasing with very very good odds. I also play my strong starting hands by the textbook, but c-bets fail 80% of the time ("uninexperienced players) ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:KK vs AJK - auto muck it pre? The bottom line is, if you shove in this situation every time, you win more often than not in the long run. If you fold sometimes in this situation, I guarantee you're throwing away the best hand sometimes. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
