Re:Cronk Disaster at the WSOP In this day and age, if you want to make a word stick in popular culture, why not add it to the Urban Dictionary' Anyone can do it, and since I couldn't find anything on Google relating cronk to poker, other than FTP player Del Cronk, I thought I'd check there for one last try. 9. cronk 5 up, 29 down A synonym for the word 'pussy'. You need a shave becaus I can see your cronk thru your skirt. It looks like you're giving birth to ZZ Top! get this def on a mug Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:1st Hand of Tourney - LOL Wow... that's pretty silly. I've employed that "fish finder" strategy a few times myself w/ KK+, and it's usually in the 45man or 180man turbos. I don't think I've ever been looked up w/ such bad holdings though. Great hand, thanks for sharing... I should get a weeks worth of laughter out of that. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Pokerstars $6 45s $6/45's are getting tougher... Even for the top tier players. Maybe do a HH swap and have someone look through your entire game. By you looking through their game, you might find spots where you aren't playing optimally. Swings are not just dependent on the game, but also on your emotional stability. Not dissing... Just saying we all handle the swings differently. Switch to STTs for a bit to get back to easier decisions. Then, hopefully, when you go back you'll feel more confident. Maybe you need a coach' Vers, with SNGMentors, used to charge $100/hr. Google him for his blog, ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Need Advice, Please comment My advice: 1. Read forums... a lot! 2. Get into a online training site and watch videos. 3. Practice what you've learned and come back and post threads of questionable hands 4. Get in with a small group of online players. If you can't find one already working together, create your own. Share AIM names and get their feedback on HH's and those HH's where you are all stuck on, submit to the online forums for broader feedback. By doing this you will be reading threads where others are posing questions that you probably have as well. You will get an understanding of how ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Case where we SHOULD break the 'rules' and fold flopped set early in SNG He could easily be a casual gamer, getting in there w/ KT+, flush draws or OESD. I could see you fold, IF your argument were based on there being a flush and str8 draw out there. However, too much of his range is just that, drawing hands... I thought I was gonna open this and see where 2 guys RR'd in front of you. As is, I think you have too much equity versus anybody's range, whether a noob or a seasoned grinder. Shove em in and move on to next one if you're wrong. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Stars update I also appreciate the update, however if you have the table shrinked the minimum, you lose out of this great feature. I don't see why anyone would care about the tourney ID instead... Maybe on their next release they can move the buy in amount so it defaults to the left EVERY TIME. With a bigger window, it's naturally on the left, but coding must be tweaked as it magically switches after you shrink down. hmmph Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:View: Stars could have a better WSOP satty structure than they currently have for lower limit players. I don't think it's necessarily easier, but this years players are way better than last year when I won my seat through Steps. To be fare, I'm more of a casual player now compared to last years grinding. I've always stayed at a decent ROI in $12/180s so for me personally I think I'd have the confidence to play those more. I haven't tried the rebuy MTT option, and it looks like I won't be able to take any solid shots at seat this year, so I'll plug away at 180s for another year to rebuild my roll. Re:View: Stars could have a better WSOP satty structure than they currently have for lower limit players. I'm a lower limit player, and do play $12/180s so I would be interested in seeing how I did in this structure. 6 steps single table Vs. 3 steps of 180s would be a great debate, hopefully others can provide insight w/ theory. I'm guessing it's easier to know your ICM w/ the current Step structure, even though you are playing a majority of top talent at Step 4+. I see tons of great MTT players in my $12/180s but its such a crap shoot w/ it being a turbo. A non turbo 12/180 3 stepper might be the best structure possible as anything can happy with that many peeps in the field. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:$25NL - open ended straight draw - newbie question I'm a sucker for OESDs. A good friend is trying to help me in cash and he says for these hands you save value by checking here. Small hand, small pot. You could easily check/call here and save yourself money. Don't bet out until you get a made hand, otherwise you're inflating the pot w/ Ten high. Sorry, I don't know if it's correct to call here or 3bet... I guess that would depend on your image and how the other guy has been playing. But I'm sure check/calling is the better option than what you're facing now. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:GL Moneymaker, 2nd in chips heading into Day 2 of 40K I met Dennis Phillips a month ago when I was playing the Venetian DeepStack. My buddy, ryanb9, took down the first event of series, and they were at same table in Event 3. Got a cool pic of them together, and Dennis went on to take down Event 3. I'll agree that I think Dennis is a great guy and deserving of all success, along w/ Chris. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Do you Jam this river Well, now that we have some results... Do you think he's EVER calling the river bet' If not, then you only gained value IMO by getting information about how he plays small PPs. Again, my position is only based on you being new to table and not having any info. If we bet and he folds, we still have little info and we're scooping the pot either way. Re:Do you Jam this river Does anyone think checking the river is good' I say this cuz we're new at the table w/ no prior play against "opponent" (God forbid I say villain... fwiw, villian is not a word... 19yr old NERD) and I mainly say this for information building. We bet, he folds we have no info. By not betting the flop we're not gaining info. By him flatting the turn bet, after 3rd player folds, we're STILL NOT getting much information. Is my thinking THAT FAR OFF where this play is UBER bad' Isn't this the way ahead/way behind scenario' Sure we lose some short term money, but ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:BAX or any other top 20 players... Huh' I didn't mean to imply that I have a NEW standard move. This discussion opened my eyes to at least think about alternatives. Before I would have 100% of the time included QQ+ in the range... Now I see there are spots where it could be taken out. ie. If I've had experience w/ playing someone where I know they don't rush big hands pre. TBH, I didn't look at the situation where peeps 3bet/fold. I'll get to that level of thought one day, but 3bet/4bet range defining is something I'm a novice at and appreciate discussions like this to open my mind. How is this ... Re:BAX or any other top 20 players... I really like your point here about taking the top end of the range out cuz you're right, see flop, let shortie bleed chips. I also had a feeling the situation was similar to bax's response. Great discussion all around, and I agree you can't standardize your play so having this in your bag o' tricks is soo pimp. Don't question the master... Just follow with blind faith and all is well. j/k, I was able to pull out some extra thinking from this post. Thank you OP. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
