Re:Minnesota Poker Players Welcome to MN. As everyone else said, there's no NL here. Best you can get is spread games 2-10, 4-20, etc. Mystic does not have poker, but Canterbury is just down the street. Here are some of the common poker rooms: Canterbury (race track) - Huge poker room. Stud and Omaha also played here. Great tourney's. The Fall Classic in October is awesome. As mentioned, they have the Twin Cities Open coming up too. Running Aces (race track)- New poker room. Haven't been there yet but very eager to check out their tournaments. From what I've seen/heard they have a large poker ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

PokerStars Connection problems I usually play on FTP and wanted to try out PS. I played a few small sngs and tournaments on Friday and could not stay connected. Unfortunately I lost about $80 due to the all-in protection. After, I went back on FTP and played for hours without a problem. Tonight, I played a couple of small FTP sngs, again without a problem (I've never had an issue with my connection) and went back to Stars. Sure enough, I keep getting disconnected. Does anyone else have this issue with PokerStars' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:WSOP on ESPN I sent a private message to the poster above thanking him for correcting me as I didn't want to take over the thread. But, your response makes sense to me now. No it wasn't a level. It was a simple mistake. For some reason I thought he just called that hand and it wasn't the one he went broke on. (can't watch TV without the kids distracting me) As far as Theo on tilt, I'm sure you're just as aware as I am that you can go on tilt even if you played hands correctly. For Theo to go back to his friends and vent and say what he said, Ngo clearly got under his skin. (even ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:WSOP on ESPN Ultra mini-tiny-micro stakes online. I play higher live, and actually manage to win live. (go figure) Fact: He was on tilt and Ngo was a jackas. I have no problem stating my opinion, no matter what level they play at. I'm glad that J hit and put him in his place. However, if you could please do me a favor and let me know when you feel I play high enough levels to post, I'd appreciate it. kthx. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:WSOP on ESPN He tried to put you on tilt and it worked. But in the end, he came off looking like a huge jackass imo. I screamed out loud when that J hit. Karma is a bitch and I love her for it. On another note, that AQ hand was sick. I can't believe you didn't go broke with it. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:First hand of SNG is this a fold Jennifear: I'll take my A5, my position, and my skill vs. his any two, his being out of position, and the average skill of someone that is willing to call there with trash, anyday. This is what I was referencing with the trash comment. If you read back on my previous comments, I agree with your play. I also agree with your assessment above. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:First hand of SNG is this a fold Absolutely. But we're (I'm) assuming he is reraising with trash. What if he has the OP outkicked' What if he's on a draw (straight or flush)' I'm not willing to risk my chips that early without much info. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:First hand of SNG is this a fold Yes, but it's better if he calls ATC when you have a good read on him, some experience on how he plays, and a good hand. Otherwise, why fold TP there' (because it's early and there's no info on him yet) Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:First hand of SNG is this a fold I would have folded preflop because it's the first hand. a) blinds mean nothing and not worth stealing b) creates a tight image early on c) people will call with ATC early in tournaments I can see him raising with Ax or a draw in this spot, so folding is fine. Why risk it so early on' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:UB steals players money and holds it hostage...attn ANNIE DUKE, poker HO, westtexasman This has to be a joke. Everyone knows chicks can't play poker. On a serious note, I hope this is a joke because you playing the sexism card is disgusting. The site is full of crooks, the management are crooks, and it is 100% shady. However; they don't give a rats a$$ what sex you are. Including that in your complaint only decreases the chance of you being taken seriously. Re:Gus Hansen's new book vs Rizen/Apestyles/Pearjammer - anyone read both I read Gus's book and won the next live tourney I played. The book didn't have anything I didn't already know but it reinforced my style and helped clarify some things for me. I honestly attribute my win to reading that book prior. However, I don't think Gus's book would be as helpful for online play. Haven't read Rizen/Apestyles/Pearjammer book but I'm interested in hearing more about it! Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Analyzing Poker Tracker I've finally caught up with the rest of the online poker community and downloaded a trial version of Poker Tracker. I understand a lot of the data, but I'm not sure how best to analyze it. I know the basics such as stealing from a tight player, reviewing which hands I've lost with, etc. More specifically, what numbers do you look for in your opponents and how do you use that to your advantage' What stats do you review to improve your play' Thanks in advance for the tips. Re:FT Bubble: Did I take the right line? Opinions.... No, I don't think he was folding, even if he was on a draw or top pair (which is what I would have put him on). The overbet was either a bluff or a made hand. I definitely would have played it the same hoping he was on the draw or drawing dead. I wouldn't play it this way but maybe some things to consider are the preflop play and getting involved in a big pot with a big stack. Playing a bit of devil's advocate here; let's say he did have the flush draw, would you want call all your chips and hope he doesn't hit it on the turn or river' Not that I'm suggesting tight ... Re:FT Bubble: Did I take the right line? Opinions.... Just unlucky. Granted, my thought process is probably a little flawed, but I would have done the same as you did post-flop based on the following: - BB could have anything in that spot but most likely not a premium hand or he would have raised pf. - BB bet instantly which to me usually indicates a bluff or draw. Although upon reflection he was probably trying to push out the flush draws. - With the 15k in the pot I wouldn't want to call here and see the turn. I'd want to take it down now. Either raise or fold, and folding would be out of the question. Preflop I think I would have ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
