Re:internet poker crimes
i'd imagine that the state, providence, country the crime was committed in, not necessarily yours, would have jurisdiction. but that is just my thoughts.

I'm sure this is an over reaction ... but
I was just looking at the site stats for my lil' unrated poker blog - and I came across a url that caught my attention, -- am I over reacting that there is a thought or concern about it -- or are 'they watching' ;) it just struck me as odd to find that there. I have my writers and my team members who are referring this site, but that just totally bugged me... btw - I"m thrilled to hear that the NY Rep's are paying attention to the people who vote for them.

Re(1): Online poker in the USA
i think that is going to weigh upon the current election. the wrong person gets into office like mccain, and i doubt poker will be easily regulated and available through the us - which makes no sense when there are so many brick n mortor casinos who pay into the federal goverment, what makes them think the US companies don't want a peice of the internet action'

best payment processer
Ok, I admit that I'm a bit of a freebie person, so I've played more hands non cash than w/ cash - but then i'm just cheap... I want to open cash accounts at stars and ft or ulitmate bet - i've been lookin at the options - what is the best funding option to you' i have cash at absolute, but i've gotten a letter recently from the local state government about the possible violation of online gaming laws -- i had no clue the state was able to monitor or how they did -- n e way -- i'm hoping to find an alternative payment processor that i can use for the accounts... suggestions'

kajun, i'm so sorry to hear you've lost the new life, but the blessing is she is home, safe and sound. it will be time before healing is complete -- hold on to each other closely. I know you're handling this differently right now. she will be ok.

Re(4): Vulnerable Congressmen who oppose us
we can only hope. this is supposed to be the party settled on princeiples and freedoms, and this is not where they are standing when it comes to online things. even if their only goal was to build big busienss, this is one of the largest fastest growing businesses in the world, why limit it in the US' even though the UIGEA stops the outside businesses from catering and competing, it is also discouraging US businesses from moving forward with such plans... so let's think -- who is benefiting from this choice they have made'

I couldn't play much of a role in these, except to make it clear this is NOT how things should be... and they need to wise up or the word will be spread... (none are in my area...not even my state :( )

Re(1): PPA Article: The Presidential Candidates' Records on Poker
as we are drawing closer to the presidential election these people, will make their stand more clear on any topic that is brought to their attention. BRING IT TO THIER attention! or as many may say, other freedoms will be the first to follow.

Re(2): Sen. Obama seems on the fence on gaming
Obama has the momentem, which is more than can be said about others, so it appears as if the ppa will have to make a direct case to him at some point about the facts and hopefully move him off the fence in our direction...

Re(1): Not everyone in the EU is caving in
the world trade organization did fail them. as they have failed a lot of other people thus far. The WTO should enforce payment for some of the Other countries, or nothing they do will matter in the future. they have completely eliminated their effectiveness.

Re(7): Vote against Mike Huckabee
that's a good point kasilof - we are pro poker, and approaching people as such, might make things easier to support for canidates like huckabee, and those who don't differanciate between the online poker room and the online casino.

Re(6): EU settles with US on WTO gambling withdrawal
it amazes me how some people can't look at this and see where all the other issues will fall, b/c of one item. by refusing to comply w/ the WTO in regard to online gaming and poker, there is a topple of the dominios of sorts, where the results are being felt through out the ecomony, as area's of trade that were 'ok' before will need to be opened up or reapproached. Basic protections - copyrights in particular, but i'm sure they are just the first, are now at risk. it is my hope that congress will see the big picture here, and make the right choice.

Re(5): Vote against Mike Huckabee
something that crossed my mind earlier today, when i was thinking about this. if huckabee truly believes what he stands for, which i'd lean toward believe if he is the only canadiate to respect the fight enough to answer the questinnaire - then i have respect for him, for believing in what he stands for. that doesn't mean i'm going to support him -- as i have quite a different view of the world, and freedoms, and liberty, and lil' things like that. just a thought.

Re(3): Vote against Mike Huckabee
i'm sure by now, several of you knew I would chime in on this one... ok, lets consider a few things here -- let's say the title was 'mike huckabee against poker' many people would not have bothered to read the thread. they would have said instead that the title in and of itself was enough, since it was from some one who knew -- however, they would not have known why, or how activly against it he is. topics w/ a dramatic flair to them, serve the purpose of catching attention, expressing thought and faciliting the exchange of information, instead of the 'whats w/ him for sayin that'' and movin ...
