Silva vs Sonnen UFC 148- predictions? i love how simple people can't read depth. the knee strike was illegal. the fight was very much turned and Anderson would have one. If Yves wasn't a shitty ref, that strike could have easily cost Silva a point or the match. Sonnen is such a douche that i wouldn't be surprised with him caving and not continuing just to win the belt. The quad and north of the patella is the striking surface of the knee. Big Stack's still is at the end of the strike. His patella is obviously in the chest at that point. the problem is the striking surface was at Chael head and it doesn't matter where it ends ... Silva vs Sonnen UFC 148- predictions? neck is included as a blow to the head. at no point am i saying Chael would've won the fight on merit. only that Silva could have cost himself. Ref doesn't even have to DQ Silva if he did happen to know what the fuck he was doing and say the illegal strike. He has the option to only point Silva. He definitely should have done that. The patella isn't the knee in a knee strike. When you throw a knee you actually want the base of the femur just north of the patella to connect. The "point" of the knee isn't the landing area.
