Re:Live $1/$2 hand
I fold. Nothing you've said indicates that the villain makes spewy bluffs or overvalues hands, rather it sounds like he's pretty aggressive but able to fold when played back at. The overbet may indicate a draw but i think if villain is any good he'll be shoving his overpairs here too to get value from hands like yours (which not many players are able to fold at live 1/2). Maybe I'm too nitty but I think you'll find many better spots to stack off in a live 1/2 game. Also, if he's on a heart draw he almost certainly has two overs as well, giving him 15 outs against you.

I opened up stars today and was like, holy shit, I've played with that kid! (I was on your left in a 1/2 game at TS a few months ago, it was about 4am and you were deciding whether to go to bed or play the morning tourney.) Congrats and GL Sunday.

i'm no expert, but... i fold pre, you're double suited but your flush draws are weak. if you play this hand you're basically setmining with the tens, and once you hit the flop, i'm going with the hand. i'd repot on the flop, and hope to hold against what is more often a straight draw than top set.

bubbled the full tilt 24k guarantee with KK v. AA - before i called the all in of the only player at the table who had me covered i checked the lobby to see that two players were already busted (we were hand for hand) but then after the hand the window comes up and says i finished in 154th place (153 paid) - i guess both busted players had more than 21k chips' it's hard to believe that but oh well. i know this should go in bad beats but nobody reads that - just looking for some sympathy. anyone have similar stories they'd like to mention'

Re(1): 50NL hand
Thanks for the responses. I ended up folding - I just thought AK or 2 pair was too likely (AK moreso, because it's hard to imagine him checking 2 pair) and i thought i could find a better spot to risk half my stack than one where i had 3 outs to a split a lot of the time. On the other hand, there's little reason for him to make such a big raise with the nuts, and my weak flop bet may have invited him to take the lead with a hand i'm beating. As far as players 3-betting preflop at this level, the way this table was playing i wouldn't expect it with AK or pairs smaller than QQ. They were ...

just made the same move up limits, and i havent found the games to be much different at all. I guess there are a few more laydowns at 50. i'd recommend starting with one table though, just until you get used to the bet sizes etc. at first i had no trouble accumulating chips, but couldn't hold on to a big stack. had to tighten up my play a bit. good luck, and please post your impressions/results.

Re(1): win rate at 25nl?
i'm up about 9 buyins at 25NL over the past 16 days, just one- and two-tabling. Not sure how many hands this is, and i 've got no illusions about this being sustainable, probably just running hot, but i'm curious to see how this compares to other people's results at this level.
