First two games were wild, wide open and against type for both teams really. The real Preds team showed up weds, IMO. It will be interesting to see who Trotzy puts in. I think the depth guys earned a strong look. Let's go Predators!

So, Preds won a hockey game last night. I won't pretend I'm not happy to knock off the wings, but we came into this series confident, anything less than a first round win would have been epically disappointing for this team. We don't know who we will face, but whoever it is, they will have their hands full. Go Preds!

In terms of a fine it was the maximum fine, take that up with the CBA. In terms of no suspension, I think the hit looks a lot worse in slow-mo closeup than it was live. Shea lost his mind and no doubt was over the line, but Zetterberg is fine. Settle it on the ice IMO. Game 2 is going to be a doozy.

1. Gaustad's goal was clearly a lucky bounce/lolHoward. 2. The second goal wasn't a whole lot better. But, for most of the game we were pretty even in shots and were bringing good pressure in spots. Put the puck on net and good things can happen. 3. Getting blanked on the 5-3 made me very nervous. 4. Pekke fucking Rinne. Wasn't some clown saying he wouldn't make the Wings squad' Lolllllllll 5. I sit sideline balcony. Great view of the ice, not great detail. My view of the end of the game scrum was Weber was locking down the puck to ice the last few seconds and got run and was defending ...

Far lesser Preds teams took far superior Wings teams to 6 games twice. Those series were a couple bad bounces from going the other way. This year I think we have the edge and we'll see how things look this time next week.

Love the respect the Preds are getting ITT. I'm nervous. I think they have an edge, but it's a thin edge and I will believe we've beaten the Wings in the Playoffs when I'm sitting in my seat for Round 2 Game 1. Go Preds!

Heh. The assists line was mostly tongue in cheek, but assists come in all shapes and sizes. For every one of the above goals you have luck bounce or secondary assist that comtributes far less. I have praised Karlsson several times ITT, and I don't deny homerism, I just think Weber is more deserving, and I think a strong objective case can be made to support that.

The James Norris Memorial Trophy is an annual award given to the defense player who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-round ability in the position. All around = Shea Weber. Assists are overrated.
