Re:Vegas The best No-limit action for stakes 1-3 to 5-10 is the Venetian, its also a great place to play. The mirage has some good limit games and of course the Bellagio if you are bringing 50K with you. The Bellagio also has smaller games but its a crowded mess and I feel like a small fish when I buy in with a grand or 2. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:5 most important tournament tips Ok, help me out. Midway through, Avg stacks about 20-40BB. If Im first in after 3 folds and I go 3BB, a couple fold and a guy goes 9-10 BB. If he's a solid player, I dont expect he has AJ, AQ or a pair of tens. Has your experience been different.' (besides, 4/5 had no complaints) Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:5 most important tournament tips Ok heres mine and some may disagree, but hey you wont find me on the leaderboard !) Dont try to bluff an unknown player too early. In the first few hours you have guys in there who just cant lay down 2) Dont try to steal the blinds until theres an ante, its just not worth it 3) A solid reraise (3 bets) before the flop is usually AA or KK 4) Watch your stack size and be ready to push when low, a slow death is no fun. 5) Dont get too aggressive on the Final Table against big stacks. It might be better to let the little stacks die off and then tangle with the big boys later. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:daily 50 grand..wats ur play? I see 3 mistakes. First you have 50 times the blind, this tourney is very early. From your spot you need 99, 88. AQ. AJs minimum. K8s is trash and will just get you in trouble. Second if you are first in the pot RAISE, Period, end of item. Last, an AI push against 3 players on a flush draw is asking for real trouble. Did you expect the bettor and the raiser to fold''' Heads up is OK if the pot is at least half your stack. With 3 other players, 2 who raised in front of you, someone is gonna have something they like and you are only a 33% change too flush here. Tighten up. At 200/400 the ... Re:HELP! Thinking about playing the $50+5 50K Guarantee on Stars I play in them a couple times a week. They are not too difficult. After the first half of the field leaves quickly it becomes a grind. Most pots are a raiser and all fold. Few multiplayer pots and mostly a bet and fold before the turn. Not a strong field but few risk takers. Expect to play about 6 hours to the final table and if you fall short, like 30-or 40 our of 1000 entries you make about 40 bucks for the 4 hours play. Good practice for tight play. Re(1): OK I need help, PLEASE Take a break, at least 2 weeks, then go back to basics Multitable may seem like a good idea but you do start to divide your attention and then BOOM, you make a dumb mistake. I limit to 2 tables of MTT and when I get to the final 2 tables I put the other game on autofold. You DO need to concentrate if you expect to take first. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): who else folds this? Thats an easy fold. You only get 150 if they fold and if you get called you are 50/50 or dominated. Still a full table. You cant 50/50 to a cash at this point. If the blinds were 200-400 then thats a push, but not now Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): The people at Bodog? Yeah the softaware isn't that great but they are still the only sight that actually gives to the players. The others just treat us all like gambling suckers and take all they can while returning nothing. I play Bdog tourneys all the time where they actually add money to meet the guarantee rather than just keep raising the guarantee to trail last weeks buyins. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Best way to make a steady income from poker? Stop trying to Multitable. You cant read your players and you can't really become that great. That's only about playing super tight and squeeking a few bucks. Not a road to getting better. Stay limited to 2 tables , stay low limit tourneys so you dont dump your bankroll and read as much as you can about how to be a winner. Lots of good books and good advice. Oh, and dont expect to become and expert in a few months. If it was that easy then everyone would be a pro. Most all pros didn't plan it. Re(1): Best post I've read in a while.... ty FOX Yes, Another "factor" outside the table. Its so true about losing respect for the money. Its the same trying to tell your kid you dont want to give them 100 to go shopping when they know you play games with over a grand on the table. It can corrupt your lifestyle easy and the family too. How to you tell yourself to buy the 50 buck item and not its 100 buck upgrade, heck its not money its only chips. The real hit comes in when you extend this thought to all your lifestyle and you find yourself living 50% higher than your should, along comes a couple of slow months and things can get real ... Re(1): THE DREADED "POCKET JACKS" Yes I agree that JJ is a tough hand, Why is it different than TT or QQ'' With TT I know there will most likely be an overcard on the flop, Im looking to trip up or probably fold. With QQ I have only 2 cards that can screw me on the flop. With JJ almost all callers will have 2 overcards and you're 50/50 to AQ, KQ etc, With QQ probably half those callers are major underdogs with AQ and KQ. Any what abut a preflop allin or reraise, JJ suddenly feels pretty weak. Tougher hand to play but you can't just throw it away in an unopened pot. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): Help on laying down QQ at the final table of 109NL After reviewing the comments and the action I take back my recommend. I thought he had pushed the 45 and the pot was 70 to you. I see now that you had and that is a reasonable raise in a pot with only 25K in it. Nice finish. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Help on laying down QQ at the final table of 109NL OK, Here's my take. He raised from a late position. He wouldn't need AK, AA,KK(although they are possible) and you are a favorite to anything else. You should have pumped back at least 100K preflop. Why give him a chance to connect' If he's on an A or K and it didnt flop you prob wouldnt have gotten any more money anyway. It's nice to move up a spot of two but first usually pays 10-20X the one seat increments and you won't get QQ that often on the final table. If he's a blind stealer even a push might get called by JJ TT or 99, AQ, AJ. Taking his stack would have been sweet, if he folds ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Online pros: When was your big break? I played in Casinos for years but only started online in 2004. I put up 200 and played SNGs for days back when they actually gambled. The SNGs I see now are rockpits. I also played small 2-4 cash games and cashed a little. My friend said he had made some $$ in large tourneys which I avoided cuz I figured they were all the best players. My friend was such a bad player I figured they must not be so tough. I entered 2 tourneys that weekend and made 2 final tables. I had a couple grand and started more bigger tourneys. In 2005 I took first in the Bodog 100 for 25K and have had 5 final tables in ... Re(1): Strategy guide to the WSOP main Event day#1... I played last year and it really depends a lot on the luck of the draw. My first table was real tight and after 7 hours only 3 players were knocked out. Not much chance to accumulate chips. I knew guys at other tables that had 50K chips plus by the end of day one and I was st 15. By the time I got to another table on day 2 I was a real underdog in chips and the blinds were moving up fast. The blinds are real small . I wouldn't toss suited connectors or AXs if you can see a flop for a real small call. You might just double up. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Is this illegal? I'm sorry to say but the level of class of the average on line poker player is dismal. The childish names and games was never tolerated in poker rooms. Players would not tolerate the crap that punks dish out hiding safely behind their monitor. It's not illegal and not much you can do about it. The only real consolation is that winners do not act like that, they take their beats and move on. So these must be the losers. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): I think harringtons low M strategy is flawed. I would not push with a rag with an M of 3-5. In fact I never push witha rag unless I see a good chance to steal from a tight blind. I think his point was more that you should not try a standard 3x raise because you are pretty much pot commited. Best to push at 4 than to call, or 3x the blind and get called by A10 or something. With an M of 5 you still have a lot of hands to choose from. No need to move with a rag. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
