RIP Chuck Brown--The Godfather of Go-Go
LOL, I am yet to meet a single go-go music fan who is not originally from the DC area. Live gogo at some of the area clubs is a very different experience from listening to it on the radio though. Yes, the frontman is Slim Charles

Mayweather-Cotto
LOL, Floyd was virtually impossible to hit 4-5 years ago; he gets touched a lot more often now. There is no way Pacman is the same guy who fought De La Hoya and Hatton. They are still the top two pound for pound fighters in the world, but the distance between the two of them and the rest of the word ( now guys like Ward, Martinez, Marquez and Donaire) is not as big as it was, say 3 years ago, imo.

Twin Peaks
Great show; I rate it #2 all time behind The Wire and just ahead of The Sopranos. It was revolutionary TV (the fact that it was on network TV made it even more so) for when it was aired. The quality drops off a bit in the second season, but brilliantly entertaining and deliciously creepy in typical Lynch fashion nevertheless.

Just watched "Tree of Life" All time worst movies thread
Maybe the usage of the phrase "unsophisticated moviegoer" was misplaced. I believe the folks who used that term ITT mean that if you dismiss the movie simply because it has a different look and structure than the conventional films we are used to watching, maybe you should re-watch it again with a more open mind and force yourself to think about what the director may be trying to convey with all the imagery and symbolism as opposed to dismissing it as a piece of trash. If you do that and still dislike the movie, then fine.

Just watched "Tree of Life" All time worst movies thread
I appreciated The Tree of Life, but Malick has been giving the viewers less and less "narrative structure" with each film and there will come a point where he might as well have a blank screen with some background music for 180-minutes. I like the originality of the loose structure , the open endedness, but I certainly agree with, for example, what Christopher Plummer is saying about Malick (post-The Thin Red Line) here.
