Re(2): Live cash game hand in Vegas this weekend I'd never fold this on the river unless if I had two buy-ins in front of me, and even then, someone of my skill is going broke in this spot. Chalk it up to bad luck. I'd raise the turn to build a pot. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): I want a student (Edited: Sorry If I don't respond to PM's) After looking at the total count of this thread, I feel like a needle in a haystack, but this is too good of an opportunity to pass up. :-) Name: Mark (a.k.a. malfaire) Age: 24 Current Game: $.25/.50 NLHE CardRunners Member: Yes A quick bit about me: I’m a relatively recent graduated of Penn State (December 2004) and work for a large diversified healthcare company in Princeton. HOH3 Discussion Group .......cancelled. At least if it's being moderated by me. Sorry, kids. Life has thrown way too many curve balls at me recently and I cannot spare the time. If I'm doing something poker related, it's either reading a book, watching a video, or playing. I can't see myself even being somewhat responsible enough to make the thread each week. Sad, but true. If someone else would like to take up the cause, feel free. However, the original interest thread I put up didn't exactly send shockwaves through the community. Regardless, I remain a lying sack of scum. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(8): appropriate bankroll for .50/1 nl? I'm gonna give the consulting comment, "it depends", b. While I agree that the above could be true, it more than likely is not (or at least, should not be) in my eyes. The whole reason for playing multiple tables is to lower variance (i.e., playing 4 .25/.50 tables lessens swings vs. playing a single 1/2 table). This is true. However, b.stern's comments are viewing a real world scenario. Observation: if you're playing more tables, you have to be taking a hit on your win rate which will raise your variance more than playing more tables will lower it. While I agree this would be true if ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(4): appropriate bankroll for .50/1 nl? 3k is where you should be. i'd be sure that your samples of hands is large enough that you can prove you're winning at .25/.50 and move up at that amount. if you drop $500 at .5/1, move back down to .25/.50 and work it back up. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Bwahah. Seriously though, I guess I could see how someone who hasn't watched his vids and such (am I right') could make those assumptions. But at least attempt to not be an asshole. I mean, come on. Re(3): Mig.com Fair enough - everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but it's more often than not a bad idea to small slice situations like this and make overarching assumptions of someone's play, mainly their "A" game. If I ever become ranked, are people going to follow me around and post every hand I misread and call me a donk' Surely, the new ranking system takes these hand histories into account when calculating standings. I mean, it's only logical. </sarcasm> Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): 100 SNGS a Day for 100 Days If you're going to set a goal, do it around something worthwhile. 50 in 100 is even absurd. If you want a goal, graduate college in two years and start grad school if you have this much extra time, IMO. If you put in as much time into school as you do with poker, you can make insane amounts of money for the rest of your life. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
