HBO Documentary Series: The Weight of the Nation
I watched the first 30 minutes of part 1 and will definitely continue it later on. Sad about the kids, especially since their health as youths has a strong, direct effect on their long term cardiovascular health and propensity for obesity in adulthood(according to what i've watched, someone with stats feel free to debunk). Obviously, a ton of this is diet related, but the lack of pure play opportunities kids have: distracted by tech, parental fear of actual or perceived threats limiting their outside time(is the world really more dangerous then it was in say the 80's'), and less emphasis on ...

Best Rapper ever?
On topic, best rapper ever=Tupac tangent.....good to see some love for PUTS. i'm a pretty big fan of the P(eople under the stairs). With apologies to Gang Starr, they are my favorite hip hop duo, ainec. uplifting, chill, fun, reminiscing type vibes and phat beats. Thes and Double K basically have that formula on lock. luckily, they sprinkle in new experimental ingredients that enable them to keep it fresh over 8 solid to classic albums. Throw in tracks from volume collections, individual instrumental stuff: and you got a couple of hip hop hof'ers.

Best Rapper ever?
I was scrolling through, hit play on "soul on ice", stopped scrolling and pondered the OP's question. As I was stopped on the Ras Kass joint, I thought "RA Rugged Man kills the JMT joint, but would I ever say he's best rapper ever'" scroll, down "uncommon valor". Word. Crazy lyrical stylings such as the above catch my ear from time to time, but I lean towards beats/digging/cadence/story telling/djing elements over lyrical gymnastics. Probably an old school viewpoint, but guess i'm an old simpleton....

Mad Men Season 5
zooby zooby zoo. zooby zooby zoooo....gonna be on loop in my mind for much longer than I'd like. -Crane is a bonafide creeper at this point(is he supposed to be a caricature of what a lot of early TV men were like') -A bit deflating to see Pete on the train to the City. Guy is not meant for the 'burbs. -The shot of Don not getting couch space during the partner's meeting in Pete's office was great. -The cabbie scam went completely over my head. -Pretty standard for a "catch up" episode. Being 2 hours, felt a bit lazy(by mad men standards) here and there, but no real complaints.

Mad Men Season 5
I've slowly watched this show over the last 6 months or so. Had to run through four episodes today to catch up for the season 5 premier tonight, and it felt rushed. With the richness of the characters and storyline, I enjoy letting each episode seep in and rest in my mind for a while. I typically love bulk watching shows, but this is one I look forward to being limited to 1 per week. -now that Roger doesn't have Lucky Strike to ride are we going to see a rejuvenated accounts man on the grind, or the has been with the silver spoon moping around uselessly' -How's the Francis marriage gonna ...

KU UNC def sounds a lot better than it looks. Proud of the Hoosiers. They really showed a lot of fearlessness, and assuming everyone comes back(which they should) and gels with yogi, perea, hollowell, et al, banner #6 is a real possibility in 2013. Still can't believe UK shot lights out from the charity stripe. Can't say enough about what a player MKG is. Dude can ball. Bears vs. Cats will have so much individual talent on the court. If BU can somehow render Teague useless they have a real good shot.

I thought they fucked up that call too. When the whistle blows, that is a stopping point. The whistle clearly blew before the shot clock expired, so there is no way UNC-Ashville should get the ball.

at the end of the first half, i thought cuse got screwed on the Triche putback as he was fouled(so clock should be dead) before shot clock went off. I think saying these refs are on the take is giving them too much credit, i think they just plain suck. why was lane violation call correct'

The Walking Dead Season 2 Discussion
^^ exactly what came to mind while watching that scene. I was surprised Shane got got. Pretty happy he's gone though because him and Rick's dispute didn't need to drag on any longer. There will be new antagonists to fill his spot, get some action off the farm, etc...or so i hope(I have not read the comic/book, nor do I have a desire to read anything about it in this thread)

Glad to see someone else point out Magrane's shortcomings. I can't help but think she is a split second away from completely losing it with every note. Strong run good so far. random predictions: Sorrell outlasts Laine. Heejun outlasts PP. I like PP, but he just reminds me of Dave Matthews a little too much. DPOY: I like Bron and Iggy over Chandler Most declined=Lamar Odom David Lee deserves some consideration on the 6th man of other team's offense. Most improved should be a tough selection, but if Lin can go 16/8 he's got it. Anderson is a good pick. Greg Monroe deserves a mention, as does James Harden. Had he not missed a month, Gallo would be my pick.
