2+2 Forums Hacked
The problem with running popular software such as vbulletin, phpbb, wordpress, joomla, drupal, etc, is that whenever an exploit is found, tons of websites are susceptible unless they upgrade their software. So let's say someone found an exploit for the version of vbulletin that 2p2 uses. The hacker could possibly (depending on the type of exploit) get a dump of their entire database, log into their ftp, etc. If the passwords saved in the DB are encrypted using a simple algorithm with no salt, it's easy to use a lookup table to "decrypt" the hashes. There are plenty of free services out ...

news?
Umm, people haven't been paid by FTP because the company was badly run (or if you're a US government official it was a "Ponzi scheme"...however you wanna look at it). We did not lose our money because it was "illegal" to deposit onto the site. Notice everyone who played on stars got their money even though you consider it "illegal" to play there. ducy'

news?
Extremely easy to create a superuser and it would go completely undetected barring a disgruntled employee making something like this public. Like I said in my earlier post, given the reputation of companies in this industry there's zero chance I give them the benefit of the doubt here. I have no evidence for any bad intentions on their side, but you'd be soooo ignorant if you believed they aren't doing something shady with this update.

news?
No offense to you or your company, but do you know how many cases of collusion have taken place (unbeknownst to the poker sites) that players have had to discover/make public' Not to mention the theft that has gone on by the poker sites/owners themselves (most notably UB) which Bodog/Bovada can now cover up very easily because of the anonymity. Sure you can publicly say that your company is honest and doesn't do this, but there's always going to be huge doubt within the poker community because of the changes you have implemented into your software. People in this industry are greedy, ...

Had a decent 2011 now what?
lol that is so closed minded it's ridiculous. You think just because someone hasn't played any of the "main" sites in the past few months that they still can't analyze someones game to help them find leaks and improve' Like they just completely forgot how to play poker' One person that comes to mind is Gags...he has had plenty of insightful posts within the past few months, and to my knowledge isn't playing any online poker. If you don't think someone like him could be useful to your game then I think you gotta reevaluate your own game and mindset.

Correct re-steal or not
You want villain to open shove 27 bbs here' Please don't do that...there are much better ways to play this hand, especially in a $1. Your play is fine here mat. You got him to call with worse and lost a 60/40. ul gg, load up another. Gotta win a few of those to ship mtts.

WPT Five diamond, why so many paid?
I have no idea if it's normal for them or not, but the fact that they're paying 25% of the field is so laughable

3handed in the 320$... about to talk chop
Are you sure the net value of betting turn/river is gunna be greater than checking turn/betting river' 1) I'm not sure villain is gunna be check/calling turn and river with that much worse than A9 2) He's going to be way more inclined to check/shove turn rather than river 3) Checking turn/betting river might get villain to hero call with hands he'd normally be check/folding on the turn.

Bodog Software up date..
That said, Mr. Ayre has already stated that they don't care about the players who make money -- they want the software to appeal more towards the casual people who deposit rather than those who withdrawal.

Because they made a business decision to cater to the casual poker player rather than the grinders (better put: they hate money and don't want their site to grow)

lol yeah that whole "1" thing is really laughable. But anyway, my whole argument is that the new update didn't bring out any NEW security risks. I'm not, however, saying that their security is adequate.

Bodog Software up date..
Sigh, all of that is very basic information and the logic can be applied to any web login form. If someone knows how to program a script to POST login credentials, they're going to know how to bypass an IP ban with proxies, which is really the next step they could have taken to secure that form a bit more. The logic in the video can be used to try and brute force any website (facebook, gmail, p5s, etc) -- it's not something that only bodog is susceptible to. Once again, knowing someone's user ID doesn't open up any security risks at all. The bigger issue, as has been discussed, is the fact ...

Exactly, and I was going to add that to the end of my post but decided not to. I'm obviously aware that's a pretty big issue, but my point was that people seem to think this is a huge security risk when it's really not (as far as I can tell).

I'm not quite sure why you're so upset about this. Before the update your screen name was public to anyone who wanted to download the software and watch a table, and you were presumably okay with that. This screen name is not only easy to track for software (huds, data scrapers, etc), but it's also easy to remember this screen name and also linked to your other screen names (through sites like pocket fives). It was also used for logging into the Bodog software. Then Bodog comes out with an update that hides your screen name completely and "attempts" to hide your user ID (but in reality ...

Nothing in that paragraph makes sense....at all. First off, big stacks look to put pressure on shorties, not really the other way around. Second, if you anticipated him 4betting you light, then why not 3b/shove' I don't follow your thought process at all. You have A9 bvb 3 handed vs someone who you think is going to 4b light. So just 3b/shove.

Again, how is this making accounts more vulnerable' And how is it a security breach' It's not like passwords are being publicly transmitted or anything, it's simply an ID for users' accounts (very similar to how stars allows you to log in with your username). I'm not trolling, I really want to know... And it's called "brute" force btw

I mean, i totally agree that they put out a terrible product but what's the harm in knowing a player's ID' I don't really play much on bodog so I suppose it could be a big security risk that I don't know about, but all other poker software provides players' screen names (which are used for logging in), so what's the difference here'
