Thats funny... I was playing Isildur1 at a 3-6 and 5-10 table on cake
He must have lost a ton of money at the nose bleed stakes to be playing on 3-6 and 5-10 no limit tables on Cake poker. It was a few days ago that I was playing with him, and at those tables, he was playing very tight. I was expecting him to be playing very loose like I had seen him a while back on full tilt vs durr. I guess he's either trying to build back a bankroll or practice some new plays.

Medium to small pocket pairs in cash games
How do you play them' - Do you limp with them in early position but fold to a raise' or call a raise by one player leaving you heads up' - Do you raise with them in early position - Do you straight up fold the pocket pairs in early position' - With a 50bb or less stack, do you even bother with small pairs pre flop' - Do you only limp in , in a multi-way pot with 3-4+ players in the hand I am just trying to play pairs better because that is an area i kind of struggle with and seem to lose money calling pre flop and then end up folding on the flop of QJx or something. Any advice would be ...

Re:For those of you who say they never re-deposit..
Thank you all for ya'lls responses, it really gives me some motivation and helps me stay positive. I am just horrible with bank roll management. DAY1 back in 2008, in april, I had $2 in my pokerstars account. I played in a 2 dollar tournament, got 2nd for $350. Took that 350 and played 2 tables of 200NL. One table had a full buy in of 200 and the other table had 150 on it. built that up to $600. Then , took that 600 ( this is all in one night ) and played in a 100 rebuy, 150 nightly 100k, and 50 freezeout. well: - got 6th in 100 rebuy ( didnt rebuy once ) for $4,700 - got 25th in the ...

For those of you who say they never re-deposit..
*all caps removed from thread title* There are some of you who say that they put in $50 or $100 and never looked back. For those who were successful, - How did you keep from going broke ( was bankroll management easy for you ) - Did it take a few years to grind up to where you are now' - What stakes did you play when you first started/ what stakes are you at now' - If you are pro, when did you decide to go full time with no other job - If pro, about how much did you have in your poker account when turning pro - Did you hit a nice MTT early on in your career to make it alot easier' I am ...

Avoiding races early in a tournament?
In your oppinion, Should you be avoiding races early on in the tournament where you have 30 big blinds or more' For instance: Blinds are 25/50 and you have 3000 chips, and get 99 in late position. Someone from middle position goes all in for 3000. Is that an easy fold, or is there some consideration. ( you are at a table with unknowns and it's a new table, so you have no reads ) But in general, is racing early on in a MTT bad in the long run' thanks.

Re:WE Need a High Stakes MTT Forum
Keep things how they are, all you would be doing is excluding people, which is not the direction you should go. no need for highstakes forum. The original poster should just scan through the comments and take the information that he wants. VOTE NO FOR HIGH STAKES ONLY FORUMS

Cash game players/grinders
Realistically, how long did it take you to grind your way up to the next level' a few weeks' months' Do you try and always have 40 buy-ins' do you try and buy in with a full stack or do you shortstack' lets say you have $1,000. You divide it by 40. ( 40 buyins ) and it gives you $25. Are you more likely to buy-in 25NL fullstack or 50NL halfstack or shortstack 100NL. Thoughts and experiences with cash game grinding. I'm really getting back into grinding cash 40-60 hours a week. Maybe some encouragement. I'm trying make this happen and make alot of money. Some days i play for 4 hours ...

Re:Tough Spot w/ AA Beginning of FTP $1k
bet the flop. you're gonna do all this pre flop betting just to check it down' I think you are also letting the 1K buy-in get to you. It seems you are playing somewhat scared and are over estimating how good this player is. Your not getting any extra value by letting him see more cards, all you are doing is letting him see more cards giving him a GREATER chance to beat you. The more cards an opponent sees, the greater chance you'lll lose. You don't want him to hit any of his cards, why check it and give him that chance. Like sctrojans said ..... bet the flop intending to get it ...

What tournament should I play?
I want to play in a live $5,000 buy-in tournament around december/january-ish. I've been looking at the WSOP website for tournaments. I am trying to find a tournament similar to the Aruba classic, where it's a $5,000 buy-in, and at least 2 million dollar prizepool. The WSOP circuit main events have between 100-200 people. I am looking for more of a bigger tournament to where 1st place is going to take home at least $700,000. Any suggestions or know of any big tournaments coming up' thanks.

Re:Pocket Pair Pre Flop in a NL cash game question...
it's correct to fold just fold, your losing money in the long run if your chasing the sets. Especially if you don't have enough people to justify a call.

Re:Tue or False
1. True 2. True 3. True/False ( what would you rather play, high stakes with 10 people' or low stakes with 100 people' ) you'll make more money with the lower field, thus making it easier to make money. High stakes players think they have a bigger edge than they really do, and people think lower stakes players have a lot lower edge than they really do. With lower fields ( high stakes mtt ), you have a better chance at making more money consistantly. With higher fields ( low stakes ) even the very best player in the tournament will have a hard time pushing his way through the large ...
