OT I need real world advice
if you despise the winter there, don't move to Chicago. We just left there, and moved back to SoCal a month ago. Why not find a job first before moving away' take the next few months to research where you'd want to go and to apply to jobs in these locations, and then move once you find the job / receive an offer.

Plattsburgh type question...house heater...
If we had ours set that high, our bill would be $500 a month in the winter. We keep it at 64 - 65 at night, and 67 during the day.
