I'm sure most people have heard of Levitt, he's one of the most distinguished modern day economist. Anyway, I found this piece by him, published 1 month after Black Friday. Favorite Part: " Thus, in some crude sense, the predictability of outcomes for pairs of players in a poker tournament is similar to that between teams in Major League Baseball. To the extent that baseball would unquestionably be judged a game of skill, the same conclusion might reasonably be applied to poker in light of the data."

My opinion might not be to highly valued, but I think given the payouts, I would look for just a little better spot. You still have 21 BB and to me K 9 just isn't that strong. Even if he calls with all hands you're still not that far ahead. Plus with the Big Blind to act, he could also potentially pick up a hand.

Am I missing something' It seems to me that stars has smaller fields, are you guys referring to larger sunday fields, because Star's guarantees for the $10 range are nothing compared to Tilt's.

Interesting Type of Play on the River (Over Shove to Look Like a Steal)
Yep, you'll be happy then. It was the nightly $1 Rush rebuy. I normally play in the $5-10 range, but this tourney is just so fun, everyone gets super, super deep stacked and you'll often see 100+ BB all in pre-flop. I really enjoy playing it though!!!

Pokerstars vs Fulltilt
I honestly like Tilt's software and interface much, much, much better than Stars'. I started on Tilt, so maybe that's why, but I can't seem to get into Stars. The flashing yellow timer on every player is tilting to no end, as well. And it seems to me that Tilt has larger fields, guarantees, and amount of tourneys on the nightly. That's how I see it at least. As far as skill level, I haven't noticed too much of a difference, granted I haven't played much on Stars.

Potential Idea For Next P5's Open
I haven't been around the forums a lot lately (had to take some time off due to having to pay for school tuition), so this may be a repost, and I apologize if it is. I think it would be great if Pocket Fives offered ways (other than paying) for its members to become "Premium Members", with instructional-video watching abilities. So, I was thinking, maybe they could offer like 3 month membership to winners of certain competitions. One of these competitions could be included in the Pocket Fives Open. Yeah, I have a job right now, but it's work study and I only get about 8 hours a week. Which is about all I have time for. Thanks for the support guys. Its gunna be a long battle from $19 dollars, but hopefully I can make something happen early on. It just sucks cause I feel like i'm "due" for a score in a bigger buy in game.

Thanks for the advice, just withdrew it all except for $19. So pissed, just lost AA to J 10 all in pre-flop for 35K in MiniFtops 1, this is probably a good thing, if you knew how bad I actually run.

Yeah, I mean if they knew I really needed it they would scrape it up, but honestly, they just don't have it. It's also that, i've never had to ask them to help pay for school yet, and I really want to keep it that way. They are amazing parents, they don't deserve to spend what little money they might be able to pull together on my school. Grapesfan: Thanks for helping put it into perspective. Yes, you are correct. Most, likely i'll initiate the transaction tonight, just looking for desperation advice. If the transfer is late, they will only charge a $50 late fee, and i'll have another 2 weeks, before the second fee. But at that time, things would get ugly lol.

First of all, I feel like over the last few months my poker skills have improved significantly. Partially due to the help and support of all of the great posters here, and partially due to my research and natural ability. I have been playing for a while and built a decent bankroll, but now life has thrown a bit of a curve ball. My third quarter of college is about to start (Finals next week -.-), and I just got my tuition bill.
