Full Tilt and Pokerstars Domains Seized Well, since they havnt seaized all the non-US players money yet we can expect a follow up by the a full scale invasion on Britains Isle of Man as "Those weapons of mass destruction have got to be somewhere!"...never "misunderestimate" the US Government. Full Tilt and Pokerstars Domains Seized It kinda feels like a corruped policeraid on a speakeasy back in the 20-ies. They arrest the mobsters then proceed to shake down any citizens they find in the establishment. "Im gonna take this money pending investigation, you can file a complaint and maybe get your money back (if its still around in 5 years after due process)." So they shut down the operation with intent to take over the scheme and rob all the current customers in the progress. Its brilliant really...evil and corrupted but what a "score". Its probably gonna set back online banking and digital transaction of funds for ... Posted in: Poker Sites |

Re:I have sad news about hacking/rigging/stealing or whatever you want to call it..... About 10 years ago I worked as a computer consultant. The client was a major telecommunication comapany and the job was to find out security weaknesses in their computer network. Among other things I used to password cracking program that was available on the net that used a database with commons words and names and tried them in diffrent combinations with digits and characters. Out of 800 accounts in the network it found over 60 passwords within 24 hours. 10 of those had administrator powers at the highest level. I would call up each user and ask them to change ther password to a more ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Poker perspective on the USA Elections Obviously there are other issues much more important but here we talk poker so I am curious, will poker be affected by the elections or is it all about "greeseing the right palms" in the lobby at Washington' You would think that PPA with almost a millon members would be interesting enough as a group for anyone seeking office to approach yet I seen nothing about how the diffrent candidtes relate to UIGEA. Im also sure that the PPA membercount isnt evenly spread over the diffrent states but rather concentrated to certain states like Nevada , NY , Florida and California while quite thin in the ... Re(1): AP Press Release Just Issued Fine, so they doing stuff. Cleaning house or whatever. But regardless if they found whoever did the deed or set up some guy to blame for the whole thing...one thing sticks in my mind and thats AP's initial response. Remember' From all I seen so far there is nothing about the way they handled this before some very gifted people within the poker community proved beyond any doubt what was going on over at AP. This means that there is no way we can ever trust an investigation done by pokersites in general and certanly not one done by AP. It doesnt really matter if the ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): AP 1k super account HH now posted on page 4... MUST SEE So with that obvious writing on the wall one interesting question would be: How did he do it ' 1. Someone on the inside( at AP) reading the cards to him over the phone or something. 2. Snooper software inside the APs network grid. 3. Faulty server software sending out card info to all clients, that he somehow found a way to decrypt and read on the client side. (ie everybody gets it but some have found a way to read it) My guess would be 3...since it also to some extent could explain why Marco got a hand history that shows everything. Re(1): AP 1k super account HH now posted on page 4... MUST SEE I didnt see a single hand where he is ahead and folded (incorrectly) to a bet' Has anyone ever won a tournament without at least a few times suspecting you had best hand by slim margin yet deciding to fold to be safe' Is it even possible' He loses a few times to rivers (like that runner runner Qs) but how can anyone skilled at analyzing HHs and told who to watch...read this thing and not find anything suspect '' Remember: "Our ongoing investigation continues to show that there were countless instances where a somewhat unorthodox poker strategy resulted in a loss. Re(1): Bankroll Management You say Big bets so I assume you playing limit (No limit the BR definition is buyins). 400 bucks would give you 200 BB on 1-2 so thats a good place to start. You play 1-2 until you hit $800 (400BB) then you move to 2-4. Now at 2-4 your $800 is once again 200BB and you stay at 2-4 until a) you hit $1800 roof (450 BB) in case u can move to 3-6 with 300BB cushion. b) you hit $400 floor (100 BB) and must drop down to 1-2 where you have 200BB again. So in this exqmple strategy you have 1-2 -> No floor , 800 roof (400BB) 2-4 -> 400 floor (100BB), 1800 roof (450BB) I prefer to add the ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): Random Number Generator Confirmation This is from pokerstars security faq. As you can see from the red text the cards are indeed set in the preflop shuffle just like it would be in a live game. In short they randomize a full deck, then they randomly draw cards from the primary randomized deck into the final deck (see red highlight below). SHUFFLE "Anyone who considers arithmetic methods of producing random digits is, of course, in a state of sin." - John von Neumann, 1951 We understand that a use of a fair and unpredictable shuffle algorithm is critical to our software. To ensure this and avoid major problems described in [2], ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): My Farewell to the Republican Party There seems to be some hidden power to mastermind all these events. First they used corrupt republican politicans to put that law in place. It cost the Republicans the Congress but they was losing that anyway as things where going so they had no scrouples about getting a final payday. You would think that the shift of the political balance would reverse the tide of events but it hasnt. Now we are seeing efforts within the FBI to enforce this shady law and pressure applied to financial service companies. That doesnt happen by itself. Someone or something with power to influence law ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(1): stars needs pros... I doubt the main reason behind PS success is their Pro Team. Still its just one of many things PS has done right right over the years. Long time ago I wrote a thread about it: Since then they done even more things like the VIP program, added another World Champ (Hachem), improved multitabling support, added HORSE and draw games and last but not least: They didnt panic and shutdown service to American players like so many other sites did. Re(1): How to make your vote count the most on Nov. 7th As an European who lives in a truly democratic country , the most shocking thing about US politics is not that this law passed ,(how insane that was in itself), but rather HOW it passed. If I understand it correct. Sen First added the ban onto another bill on something totally unralated but very popular that was sure to pass. He also did this just 1 hour before the voting so none had even time to read the entire bill. How can this be legal'' It sounds horrific that the US legal system can allow for something like this. Re(1): Official Neteller Update - Neteller is NOT Shutting Down If I was a shareholder in Netteller I would be furious with this statement. Instead of using the fact they are not a US registered company to protect their customers and business they are saying they will ditch their US customers if the US goverment tells them too! And they do this to protect their shareholders'' They was in position to pick up alot of new customers from Firepay folding and instead they go out and declare that they are willing to fold as soon as there is a hint of the law being enforced. Get off your butts and VOTE this time! Americans are known for being pretty lazy when it comes to their right to be able to vote for who runs their country. For alot of people , regardless if they play poker or just dont like to see politicans abuse the confindence entrusted to them by the people, its important to send a message this time. PPA need to get organized and single out at least 10 members of congress most responsible for attaching the Ban to the Post security Act and use every available funds to make sure that those are not re-elected. Regardless of who runs against them. Scattered whining in forums wont make the any ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Pokerstars segregated accounts? Its well known that Pokerstars is proud to have an exellent money mangement agreement to ensure that its customers money isnt use for anything related to the cost of operating the pokersite. This is how they explain this themselves: "PokerStars players' poker money and account balances are held in segregated accounts and not used for any of PokerStars' operational expenses. These segregated accounts are managed by a leading European bank. The arrangements ensure that PokerStars can at all times fulfill its monetary obligations toward its online poker players, and will provide further ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Impact on the Pros? Im curious on how this will affect the pros. The people that been promoting the pokerboom and are now affiliated with pokersites. Moneymaker, Ivey, Raymer, Mercier, DN, Annie Duke etc. Will they be at risk to be arrested if they keep promoting online poker sites in the US' Will there be an interest for the online sites to sponser them if they keep living in the US' Do they have to move to Monaco or somewhere else to be able to keep their status and do their job' Do they go back to grinding it out at the casinos in relative annonymity' Have they considered their options if the bill would pass' Posted in: Poker Discussion |
