Full Tilt and Pokerstars Domains Seized
Well, since they havnt seaized all the non-US players money yet we can expect a follow up by the a full scale invasion on Britains Isle of Man as "Those weapons of mass destruction have got to be somewhere!"...never "misunderestimate" the US Government.

Full Tilt and Pokerstars Domains Seized
It kinda feels like a corruped policeraid on a speakeasy back in the 20-ies. They arrest the mobsters then proceed to shake down any citizens they find in the establishment. "Im gonna take this money pending investigation, you can file a complaint and maybe get your money back (if its still around in 5 years after due process)." So they shut down the operation with intent to take over the scheme and rob all the current customers in the progress. Its brilliant really...evil and corrupted but what a "score". Its probably gonna set back online banking and digital transaction of funds for ...

I have sad news about hacking/rigging/stealing or whatever you want to call it.....
About 10 years ago I worked as a computer consultant. The client was a major telecommunication comapany and the job was to find out security weaknesses in their computer network. Among other things I used to password cracking program that was available on the net that used a database with commons words and names and tried them in diffrent combinations with digits and characters. Out of 800 accounts in the network it found over 60 passwords within 24 hours. 10 of those had administrator powers at the highest level. I would call up each user and ask them to change ther password to a more ...

Poker perspective on the USA Elections
Obviously there are other issues much more important but here we talk poker so I am curious, will poker be affected by the elections or is it all about "greeseing the right palms" in the lobby at Washington' You would think that PPA with almost a millon members would be interesting enough as a group for anyone seeking office to approach yet I seen nothing about how the diffrent candidtes relate to UIGEA. Im also sure that the PPA membercount isnt evenly spread over the diffrent states but rather concentrated to certain states like Nevada , NY , Florida and California while quite thin in the ...

My Farewell to the Republican Party
There seems to be some hidden power to mastermind all these events. First they used corrupt republican politicans to put that law in place. It cost the Republicans the Congress but they was losing that anyway as things where going so they had no scrouples about getting a final payday. You would think that the shift of the political balance would reverse the tide of events but it hasnt. Now we are seeing efforts within the FBI to enforce this shady law and pressure applied to financial service companies. That doesnt happen by itself. Someone or something with power to influence law ...

How do you guys handddddddddle this?!
Bad beats doesnt matter!! All that matter is making the right decitions. If you are making enough good decitions you come out on top over time. Period. Everyone gets their fair share of bad beats. Now I KNOW that there are like a ton of people out there now thats gasping for air, claiming "I am WAY more unlucky then the average player." It's BULL! The reason they think that is because every bad beat STICKS in their mind...especially the ones that sent them packing. But how many times did they get lucky THEMSELVES catching that river jack with AJ against AK' Some people seems to think well ...

Annie Duke and the WPT
Michael, no offense but that is quite the worst idea yet. In effect that would mean that is you are already a famous Pro you could negotiate an exemption from the release of rights to your name and image/and or be reimbused by WPT for the use of it. The rest of the poker community would be even worse off though. If you would win a Satellite, you would have no choise but to sign that crappy contract or kiss you newly won 10k buyin goodbye. It would also put WPT in the position to pick who would safely be able to enter a WPT event without signing away their name and image. They would sign ...

Will Pokerstars become the Microsoft of Online Poker or will they screw it up?
The swedish goverment is used to getting 20-30% out of any betting pool. The rakes on this site will be in relation to that. That means you have to beat a rake thats 2-3 times as high as on the regular sites. No connection to the major Tours (EPT, WSOP, WPT). Probably some newly invented "National Championship" instead with satellites running for a year to it. Games will be amazingly soft though...the good Swedish pokerplayers will keep doing their thing...on the free market.

My answer to self promotion.
Im a bit worried that the moderators isnt adressing this with force. They havnt even commented on the issue. Its like they are siding with the many nimwits that thinks this is ok. There is already enough selfpromoters in the rankings, imagine if they also think its ok to selfpromote using dummy accounts. P5 forums would be next to unreadable. The Beat just stated that the P5 rankings had impact on him getting sponsorship so there is little doubt that we will see more selfpromotion then ever unless something is done about this. I dont care how good a player The Beat is, or how funny or ...

Evan, that turn check works well in limit cash games well. From early position: Preflop Bet Continuation bet on flop (regardless of flop) Check on turn with intent to checkraise. (If you have a decent hand)

Annie Duke and the WPT
So WPT wants to force the Pro Poker tours down the same road as Boxing where the organisations basicly owns the players if they want to compete in their events' As opposed to most other sports where the good players can choose what products they want to promote' So lets say that you win a Satellite to a WPT event. You are then forced to sign this WPT contract before you can play. Somehow you then manage to win that event. WPT then signs a sponsorship deal with lets say a tobacco company. So despite that a loved one died of lungcancer , your can then find your image on a box of cigarettes''' ...

Will Pokerstars become the Microsoft of Online Poker or will they screw it up?
Now this was the kinda stuff I was aiming at when I wrote the thing... Would a US regulation have any effect on Online poker' Would it make a diffrence if PS was run from Isle of Man (Not sure if that is part of EU or not) or Costa Rica' How would US go about regulating a business that lives on the Net anyway' Would it just be a pain to live in the US if you wanted to play poker online or would US goverment try to use some other form of enforcement' The whole thing is very confusing for us europeans. Its every Americans godgiven right to get a permit and walk around with a loaded firearm ...

My Explanation
I wouldnt do that on stars if I were you. Stars actually keep up with whats going on in the online community (as do UB and pokerroom but not party) and revised their rules after a similar incident last year. If this thing had happned at Stars and I made the money. I would simply send them a letter contesting the result and demand to be moved up 1 position as the winner clearly broke the rules and should be disqualified. This would be enough to make then investigate...and you can bet your ass that "granny" would have a hard time knowing much about the activity on "her" account and even less ...

FPPS, what are you saving up for?
Considering 2-3 people was going platinum in 1 day , and the porche is 3.000.000 FPP you would think it could be done in 300 days...BUT since after they hit Supernova (100000) they will earn FPP at 3.5 the normal pace...it could be done by those guys in less then 100 days!!! A new Porche every 3rd month...anyone' I doubt any Pokersite has ever had a promotion quite like this one...

Random Number Generator Confirmation
This is from pokerstars security faq. As you can see from the red text the cards are indeed set in the preflop shuffle just like it would be in a live game. In short they randomize a full deck, then they randomly draw cards from the primary randomized deck into the final deck (see red highlight below). SHUFFLE "Anyone who considers arithmetic methods of producing random digits is, of course, in a state of sin." - John von Neumann, 1951 We understand that a use of a fair and unpredictable shuffle algorithm is critical to our software. To ensure this and avoid major problems described in [2], ...

How pokersites can partially combat the mult-account problem.
They said it was triggered by their security team and then customer service began to receive complaints...as I said..it may not be true but we can always hope that there really is such a thing at Party as a "common information" alert... "The investigations team opened an investigation on accounts JJProdigy and ABlackCar relating to suspicious activities during the February 12th $500K Guaranteed Tournament. The investigation was initially triggered by the investigations team as a result of a ýcommon informationý alert, IP and computer. Although the investigation was initiated internally, ...

Stars RNG: ''It would have been different?''
Sorry, that was not directed at you...its has happened (and will happen again) that people come here with "undeniable" evidence that Online Poker is rigged... I like Gigabets stance on the issue though: "After that, I was sure online poker was rigged....but who cares, since it was obviously rigged for me."

Oh, If Im so dumb why is it that Daniel is aware of his coldstreak and trying to fix it. All I did was questioning if he would go about doing that by playing alot of tournaments on Stars. I bet im right on the money thats its the distractions thats to blame for Daniels poor results this year. As to whats to blame for your rude personailty...I havnt a clue....maybe its your parents :)

What weapons do we have in our pokerarsenal?
Dragging a call with a made hand is a great play. My favorite time to use it if im in the middle with a big stack in late position behind me and a shortstack acts first by going all in. I drag. Use the "Time" button on Pokerstars. Then I just call. This is to set myself up to be "Squeezed" by the late bigstack. Sure enough he very often comes over the top with intention to isolate the shortstack. Bang! Allin! A "Reversed Squeeze" :)
