MA Governor Proposes Criminalizing Online Poker!!! Greetings; Recently, MA Governor; Deval Patrick, proposed a bill (H 4307) that seeks to expand casino gambling in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Under this same bill (in section 15(h)(2)(i)), the Governor also seeks to criminalize online gaming, including poker where violators will be subject to a penalty of 2 years in the house of correction and/or a $25,000 fine. Re(2): MA Bill Seeks To Criminalize Online Poker We have made some incredible headway at the PPA in regards to this proposed bill. I sent an alert out last week to all MA PPA members and in 2 days we sent out over 1700 letters to legislators and the Governor. Many of the legislators had no idea this language (the criminalization of online poker players) even existed in the bill. As the MA State Director for the PPA, I am organizing a concerted effort to ensure that: a) all legislators are aware of the language contained in the bill; b) all MA online poker players learn about the proposed bill; c) the MA media is educated about the bill and ... MA Bill Seeks To Criminalize Online Poker Greetings: My name is Randy Castonguay and I am the Massachusetts Representative for the Poker Players Alliance. Recently, Governor Deval Patrick proposed a bill (H.4307) that seeks to expand casino gambling in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This bill also includes a proposition that would make it a crime for you to play poker on the Internet (See: Section 15(h)(2)(i)).
