Re:how much money are you gonna leave in your accounts come december? The OP is referring to what was issued as Reg. GG by the Department of the Treasury. The deadline for federally insured Bank's compliance with Reg. GG, which is the regulation enforcing the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) is December 1, 2009. You can google regulation GG to read more about it or see a quick summary here: I am a Bank auditor and am currently finishing my Masters of Accounting and CPA. I can tell you from my work experience that this regulation deadline is not something that a lot of Bank's are preparing for, as they already have policies in place ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Becker CPA review Hey guys...quick question for anyone who has taken the Becker CPA review. I'm looking to split the cost of the program with a friend, and we'll both be studying for different parts at the same time. Is there anything within the Becker CPA software that prevents us from doing this (ie - can you only use the software on one computer at a time)' I know you can download the program to three computers, but I'm not sure if all computers with the software can be used at the same time. Any help is appreciated... Posted in: Off Topic |

Pokerstars Instant Cash Offer using FPPs Not sure if I'm missing something here... $50 VIP Reward Bonus (not cash) for 5,000 FPPs vs. $16 Instant Cash Credit for 1,000 FPPs Why would anyone choose the $50 VIP Reward Bonus' Can you redeem more than one of each over the $8 level (Cashier says you can only redeem a single $8 instant cash credit but nothing about the higher levels)' Also...the instant cash comes to .0016/FPP. This is a good deal right' Thanks... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:~ anyone interested in a week long $6 45man challenge? ~ I would be down for a contest also that could run something like this. Buy-In: $20 Time: Sept. 22-29 Game: $6 45-man SNGs Contest: Most profit from your top 25 scores. Rules: Play as many $6 45-man SNGs as you want, but only the top 25 scores count. Most profit over those 25 scores wins. Save all tourny #'s of the top 25 cashes for verification. I don't play crazy volume either so I'd rather it be top 25 scores than anything more. Someone reputable needs to hold $$. Small contest, but should be fun. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:45 man strategy same as STT ? ROI may be better but if you multi-table...the $/hr should be better in the turbos imo. Strategy wise - for the 18 mans - average chip stack going into the FT is only 3k chips. However, in the turbos the blinds go up so fast you need to have a decent stack to work with at the FT. Going in w about 5k is ideal and then you can take advantage of people getting desperate w their stack. If you don't have a decent stack...once 100/200 comes around... it's time to gamble cause next blind level is 200/400 and then the blinds start hurting. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:AK w/ chip lead at final table of a 180 man facing 2nd chip leader. What's your play? Based on how he was playing, he was playing solid, only really raising in position. I put him on AJ+, 99+ as I don't think he would make that play with absolute air or a suited connector. I thought a huge overshove would look way too much like either AK or a mid pocket pair, so I decided to put in a decent raise instead, hoping to get the bottom of the range (99, 1010, JJ, AJ, AQ) to fold. I was intending on calling a shove as now about half of my chips are already in the middle, however, I really was not expecting him to just flat call, but now after I think about it, I prob. should ... Re:How many other people are just like me? Without a couple of low buy-in MTT wins, I can't see how this is possible. Proper BR mgmt. would not even allow you to play .05/.10 NL w/ $100.00, or $5.50 SNGs (assuming 20 buy ins). Sure it's possible to run $100 to $1,000 in a night, but NOT by following BR mgmt. It's taking shots like these that ultimately cause you to go bust. You may want to consider two things: 1. Why are you playing the game' If it's for the thrill of the gamble and the action, then fine...take your shots (as long as you have the $$). If it's to stay in the game and reap the long term benefits, ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Help settle an arguement please Here's the situation... Home game...5 out of 5 people left...started w/ 2500 chips. Blinds 30-60. You're on the short stack w/ 800 chips UTG. You get A7 off suit and decide NOT to fold. Can you raise to say 150 and get away from it to a PF re-raise or if the flop doesn't hit you...or is the move all in pre flop' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Cracked by a set AA either wins a small pot or loses a big one. Of course you want to try to build a pot PREFLOP with AA...and most of the time it's hard to get away from a non threatening board like the one you proposed. But I would wait for opportunities where your hand is better than just 1 pair to get all your chips in the middle. Again...I would probably go broke with AA on that flop also...but... making tough laydowns like that may make you a better player... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
