Re(4): Deep into a PS Tourney again...
That's what I was thinking sep. dealer seemed like a decent player, which lent me to believe that he might have been raising with some hand like AQs or some suited connector hoping to just steal the pot. There was 16,000 in there already after his raise, so that would've been a nice addition to my stack without playing the flop. In hindsight though, I had gotten deep again by playing good solid poker, outplaying my opponents preflop. A call was clearly an option, if somewhat passive. If I had to do it again I would probably have just called and seen the flop and play it from there. But as it ...

Re(3): FINAL TABLE ON POKERSTARS!
Hokie, Yea, that hand was a combo of tilt/frustration, along wiht the fact that TRok had raised double late in position twice before and taken down pots without a call. FIgured he could be making a move, or might just have a small pair or something like KQ, maybe K10 and I"m a favorite. Maybe I could've waited for another situation with a better chance to steal the blinds and antes, but as I was steaming I was looking to double up and get back in it. But again, with blinds at 8k/16k and an 80k stack I can't wait forever. But in hindsight...I definitely could've folded and normally would've ( ...

Re(1): FINAL TABLE ON POKERSTARS!
Out 8th. Lost a brutal hand against the chip leader when he made a bluff but got lucky...didn't have to stones to pull the trigger on the flop even though I knew he was bluffing. Also couldn't do it on the river when I knew the ace would scare him. Re(1): Feelings on step tournies
There was a time I was one of those fish playing the 11+1 Step 1s to move up. Made Step 5 twice and cashed twice (first and fourth). The second time I made the final table, I noticed that play had tightened up ridiculously, probably due to the dual nature of the players (weak tighties who satelitted in, and the big money SNG pros). I just don't know how profitiable these Steps are anymore, as you really dont' find the "dead money" buying into these that you see at the 200's or whatevers. On side note, anyone ever placed in a step higher, either buying in directly to 5 or satelitting up' That ...

Re(1): What do you guys think?
With your skill, chip position, and the type of table you are describing I think this a relatively easy fold. One of the most important things in a tournament situation is avoiding other big stacks when you are the big stack unless you are holding the nuts (or something close to it). Although KK is the second best starting hand in holdem, I hardly think it qualifies as the nuts in this case as there is a 30% you could lose this hand (that's assuming he doesn't have AA). Yea, 17,000 puts you at the top of the hill, but there is still a buttload of poker to be played. 30/60 blinds is hardly the ...

Re(5): 10,000 Guaranteed on PP
Checked the turn because I figured someone with like, maybe tens would bet'' ON the river I was sure at least one person made a pair of aces. Yea, I probably shoulda bet a decent amount and might've gotten called in two places. Went out 83rd (top 70 paid). Made a stupid move from MP, tried to steal blinds with 69s with an average stack. Guy on my immediate right reraises double, so I immediately put him on a big pair. I call (very dubious) and flop a flush draw with K 35 of spades. Unfortunately, my arm has a mind of its own and pushes all in. I'm pretty sure the guy crap his pants as he ...
