I was in a live tourney about 2 weeks ago (Muckleshoot in Auburn, WA) and this guy called off the rest of his stack with J7 when he was down to about 4 BB's I think. He was already in the small blind, and his hand was live against the raiser's A10. Seemed pretty standard to me. But when he busted he got up and left, and the whole table erupted about how much of a dumbass he was. I started to defend his call (since he couldn't be there to defend himself) and this guy totally cut me off and said "ok there buddy. you just keep going all in with J7 and see how many tournaments ...

I completely agree, although I think its pretty obvious why limit has taken a backseat to NL: poker on TV has glorified no limit. As a limit player who really only plays NL now in tournaments, I kind of like that everyone wants to play NL. It makes the games much easier to beat when those players sit down and try to play the same way in a limit game. I only play 8-16 and occasionally 10-20 (btw limit is still very much alive here in Washington State. In fact it dominates other games in terms of availability) so not as high as the 15-30 and 20-40 games you play, but I don't think limit is ...

So I am at FT (brag) of $65 rebuy at Diamond Lil's in Renton, WA yesterday. 7 left I think and stack getting low. Blinds 1K/2K and I am at 14K I think. Anyway squeeze out AJo in cutoff and push. SB obv snap calls with AA. Flop AJJ, turn blank, river J. Filthy disgusting beat but I loved it.

it's happened twice to me in two days for literally no reason. I have never done it to anyone ever, nor am I some jerk that would deserve it. it just makes no sense to me why someone would do it. both times were preflop when i 3 bet shoved with QQ and then AK....both times dude tanks forever then calls w/ AA. total horseshit move.

Deep in small stakes tourney
If anyone cares, currently 5 of 12 on FT $5.50 KO tourney, 810 runners. Going for my 2nd tourney win in a week (took down a $3 MTT on FT last Friday lol).

I'm going to go out on a limb here and conclude that AJK is most likely recovering from some type of substance abuse problem. As someone who is had some close interactions with this type of thing, comments such as making "life changes" and it being "not the poker that made me this way" I think I can see what was going on. I don't play high stakes really at all so I haven't seen you act the way you say you have been acting. But if I'm right about what you are going through--and I think I am--you can always get better and stay better.

just quit...but seriously if you havent experienced a downswing lasting weeks then you haven't been playing long enough. Variance is a biatch and the key is don't let your ego get in the way. When things aren't going your way drop down in levels until you can beat the games.

I think he misspoke. GSN is still airing this season's episodes, and they will retain the rights to replay them for like the next 5 years or so. What he meant is that they opted not to renew their WPT contract beyond this season, so they will not be showing any more new episodes when this season ends. But fear not, young grasshopper. I just read an article in one of the poker mags that said the WPT will have no problem finding a network to broadcast them. ESPN is the front runner right now, which IMO would be the best choice. Their WSOP coverage is already very good, and landing the WPT ...

Help! Trying to use PokerStars on Mac
I'm house sitting this weekend and was left a powerbook g4 to use. They said I could play poker on it, so I have fullt tilt installed and running, no sweat. But I downloaded the pokerstars app for mac, installed, and now when I try to open the app, all i get is that the pokerstars icon flashes at the bottom of the screen (i guess this thing at the bottom is called the "dock") for about half a second, then shrinks away and disappears. How do I get pokerstars running on here''
