Re(1): Why do people think you always want to hear their bad beat stories. People don't think that you want to hear them, they need to get them out. Sadly, many don't see the BB forum. Even more sadly, there's no BB forum at the tables. Get on it, Harrah's Entertainment! Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): COnfused about what happen to me in the FTOP last night This happened to me about a week ago, on FT. Its great that they have been doing lots of things to improve their services, but it seems to me that the software is so much more buggy than when I started. I even got a new computer in an assumption that it wasn't the software. I've been seeing a large increase in the disconnection problems lately, and I myself have fallen victim to it a few times recently. I actually withdrew my online roll this weekend due to my table freezing, but still allowing me to click bet buttons I couldn't see, costing me a dominating CL and a top 3 finish in a 75 I ... Re(1): Interesting situation at Foxwoods, with verbal bets binding ruling by Floor, and KARMA To me, theres no issue here. You threw out a chip without declaring an amount, that amount is the raise. The dealer declared it, and it was called. Thats IT, baby. End of story. No arguments to be had. If at any time I'm at a table with a dealer I cannot understand well (it does happen a bit), I am 100% sure I know what he just said everytime I have to make a decision. If there is ANY doubt in my mind about what I just heard, I ask 100% of the time I am in the hand. I'm sure that I am percieved as a racist or small-minded American, but I won't lose money just because the dealer and my first ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): NY Poker clubs/Vegas Yeah, NY was never a place I wanted to go play poker, back when I used to live in DC. Neither was AC for that matter, but was the unfortunately only real option outside of private affairs. If it is coming down between moving to LV, or moving closer to AC, LV hands down. I moved out here earlier this year, and it was the best thing I ever did. Best weather ever, gorgeous views, action 24/7, and my goodness, I love the people of the Western US. I don't know if you play poker for a living or whatever. If you're like most and use it for supplemental income, line up a job before coming out. That ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): places to live in vegas I live in Henderson, about a mile from the welcome to las vegas sign. I could NOT live on the strip. I'm about 10-15 minutes away now, and thats plenty close. It's just too insane to NOT be able to get away from. I recommend Henderson, N Las Vegas, Summerlin Green Valley, etc. Never move somewhere without checking it out, obviously. There are communities here and there you wouldn't want to move into, but for the mostpart, things are decent here. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Vegas Hotels That's a sliding scale there. The Imperial palace is a the cheap end, but if you're looking for a nice plushy place, this ain't it. Great location for the price, right on center strip. The Sahara is a slight step up the scale. The quality is a little better, but the location requires a monorail ride to get to the meat of the strip. Price is good, but again, not a place if your wife is picky. The Luxor and the Hilton are happy mediums to me. Rooms nice enough to keep from having to hear about it all week. The Hilton is a monorail ride from everything, so its a bit quieter and calmer. Not bad ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): The 5 Hands that changed ur poker carrer........ The #1 pivitol hand in my career was POCKET 5s!!!! In the FTOPs event I FTed in, I picked up this wonderful hand in the late stage of the tourney. Donkishly got it all in against an over, and yes, spiked the 5 on the flop to bust an almost equal stack. Then I coasted to the FT to go out in true donkey shit style in 4th. For 27k. Re(2): Ultimate BET Solution/ To all YOUR PROBLEMS! YUP! People want to talk about voting. LOL. Every single person in a capitalist society votes EVERY SINGLE DAY, registered or not. Look at every dollar as a vote. What companies you give your money to dictates more about politics than anything. It essentially determines which candidates you get to choose from. This system is no different. Money talks, talk walks. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(4): Bots at Ultimatebet Poker Tables Agreed. If I were trying to build a profitable bot program, I would go to a bot-friendly site, start at a lvl like $.02-$.04, and start going at it, large volume style. If you actually study the results, you can program it to be better, and move up like you're saying. Say you tweak a bot for 5 years that can make money @ 1/2 or 2/4. You take that bot to FT and make a killing, and no one has any idea how to connect it to that bot you built on UB. Sites that don't curb bots, even at the lowest levels, may be paving the way to a future with no online poker. Go UB! Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): "Playing to win" Going through the HHs of my little study group trying to get some more specific info out of it, but I am very upset to realize I didn't keep track of the field sizes and AVG stack Ms in a way I could match them up to the tournies. SO PISSED @ myself (gonna have to re-try this experiment), but here's what I've pulled so far on my M-age. Scenario 1 - Although I am playing better poker here, I feel crazy to say it, this is my least favorite prospect (at least in the low buy-ins) for building the FT stack. Unless I pick up hands early, I can watch my M sink, and watch myself beging to start to ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Poker Stars Sunday 100K So many people in the 100k, that its really a lottery ticket. The great thing about it, is if you play well, win your races, and avoid getting unlucky beats, you can get a HUGE score for a freakin 10 buck tourney. I wouldn't recommend it if its for your roll, though. Its a lottery ticket. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): for your help if so If you think there's a chance he hasn't made his flush yet, a call isn't terrible. I often find people in this situation very eager to push with just the and sometimes even the . You may very well catch them on a draw, and if you are wrong, you have some outs to improve. I don't think you played that poorly. I do the same thing sometimes in this exact situation. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

"Playing to win." How early? I have recently been experimenting with this concept. Playing to win is obviously something everyone aspires to do, unless you're just trying to cash (why'). I've been playing a lot of low buy-in MTTS (like $2-$10) to experiment with different ideas on when to play the "playing to win" game. When do you really open your game up to build the stack to have a shot at winning it all' 1 - I've tried playing extremely tight until the bubble, getting there regularly with a mediocre stack, and trying to build that stack as the bubble approaches. Most of the time, in this situation, I get washed ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Bots at Ultimatebet Poker Tables Yeah, before I cleared out my account and uninstalled UB recently, I found this as well. It was actually the topic of discussion amongst the non-bot players. One of the countless reasons I no longer play there. Yes, you can beat the hell out of them for their $.10 buy-ins. That isn't really the point. The point is, its just one of the many symptoms of a larger disease: UB doesn't give a fuck. Its sad, cause its the 1st software I ever downloaded. I played on it for a whole year until I realized you could play for REAL MONEY'''''OMG!!!! online. But now its dead. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): final 3 FTP mil bust out hand I'm no expert myself, I have had minor success in the low # of online tournies I've played, but I like your play here. You were ahead of what his calling range was, and when the money went in, you were ahead. You didn't double up, but thats life as the short stack. Those chip towers can afford to call you with more marginal holdings just to see you gone. Given the chipstacks here, you got your money in good, and lost. I prolly would have done the same thing, for whatever thats worth. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
