Re(4): Wtf happened to UB?
Yeah...the buttons aren't that bad at all. If anything they are a little cleaner than the old ones...the icons are kinda unecessary though. I figure that they bother people just because they are different...the same way I was annoyed the last time they changed their buttons. The lack of observer chat is really a problem though...I hope they fix that. Hopefully it is just an error and not intended. For what it is worth, the option to enable / disable observer chat is still present in the options menu.

Re(1): Help with poker stove
Yeah...there is really no manual to fucking read. Best way to figure it out is to click on the players names and use the graphic interface to select the cards...this automatically fills the blanks with the corresponding text. Just extrapolate from that... You can do things like: KK KKs KKo KcKh ranges like AQs-ATs ATo+ is the same as AKo-ATo separate hands with commas ( like KKs,AKo,A3s+ ) Just takes a bit of detective work. ...there are some interesting articles on the site, such as the one about low unsuited connectors. From there I was off, lost on reading about Monte Carlo ...

Re(4): how to save UB HH?
Ultimate History just dumps the hands to a text file named after the table you are at. You can then load them into Pokertracker later. There is a currently a new feature with the last version that will check a directory of your choice for said text files and read them into pokertracker as they are updated. However, it always made the program blow the hell up when I used it. There was a new patch in the past few days that claims to have fixed the error, but I haven't had a chance to try it yet.

Re(2): how to save UB HH?
...It works pretty damn well. The only minor problem I have with it is that it uses the beginning of a hand as a cue to grab the history of the previous hand...which is cool, unless it's the last hand of a tourney or SnG or something. In that case you have to make sure you grab the last hand manually (since it's often an important hand).

Yeah...it's pretty crazy that he is playing 5 tables right now...2 x $25-$50 NL and 3 x $50 - $100 NL. ...and barring rebuys, he appears to be up at all of them.

Re(2): Calling on the river
Lol at Sooted's response. Thanks for the replies...those make alot of sense. I know one of the things I need to work on is when I know I am probably the weaker hand, I shouldn't bet when the only callers would have me beaten. Having been a rock for most of my early poker life (which worked awesome in my home games since all my friends were LAGs), I'm just getting used to the whole 'aggression' thing ;) I totally agree with your comments about SnGs and MTTs, Gidders...which is one of the things that makes them more interesting to me in general than ring games. Pot odds don't matter alot of ...

Calling on the river
I was looking over my Pokertracker database today, which has about 11,000 hands in it. Most of the data is useless...since it is from a year ago, when I played infrequently, and very poorly at that. (I read Super System in a weekend and was ready to beat the world!) Culling the data down to the last couple thousand hands, I noticed something interesting while looking at my Total Aggression stats... I never call on the river. My river call rate is 0%. It's all bets, raises or folds. This leads to some wonky numbers since my river aggression stat then includes a divide by zero...which is ...

Re(2): The Paper Rock Scissors approach to poker
On a more serious note...good post. And it made me think of this article by Mike Caro: ....which is about a much more mechanical aspect of poker than your post, but still related. Mike comes up with a game where you can choose a hand from this list: ...and then he will choose one to play against you. It's a simple demonstration of the circles of "strength" that are inherent to poker.

I agree... it's time to fold and get onto a new hand. I would have played it more agressive early on in the hand....but what's past is past. No reason to keep going here...especially with your chip lead.

It's a stand-in for the "Too many observers" pop-up I think. Watching Bax or GreenPlastic or anyone vaguely well known is pretty much out of the question. I've been making due by railing some of the people I normally play the low limits with. (Hoping they won satellites and didn't just decide to commit a large portion of their bankrolls on a chance at the big score)
