Re:tough spot vs dirtyriver early in tilt 163 I probably wouldn't, but many players would raise with a hand like 77-TT or a 76s against the continuation bet to see if their hand is good, and then they'd shut down on the turn if they get called. And raising is the standard play with KQ or QJ. Here the guy was even doing it with complete air. To just assume they have a set here is ridiculous IMO. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Which tourneys do you think are harder to win? #1 - Sunday Million for sure, simply because it has over 10x the number of players. Average skill level of the WPT winner will be much greater though, obv. #2 - For me I'd say the live tourney because the $50 1r+1a is a deep stacked tourney. I'd win that more often than the live tourney that probably has a horrible structure and will require a lot more luck. #3 WSOP ME for sure. A lot more players, and MUCH more of a grind. Playing long hours day after day after day, getting little sleep, its tough to stay focused and keep it all together. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:tough spot vs dirtyriver early in tilt 163 To me it seems like you guys aren't even considering what he put the OP on. He raises to 3xBB and then bets 2/3 the pot on a safe looking Q63 rainbow flop. The OPs range is ridiculously wide here. So to me the other guy's raising range includes almost any pair, and reraising with a good Q in this spot seems ridiculously standard to me. I don't know, maybe a lot of people just don't try to play poker in the early levels and instead camp for the nuts. That's not how I play personally, but to each their own. Re:tough spot vs dirtyriver early in tilt 163 LOL. Then why did you call' By the way I didn't say you'd be ahead of him 99/100 times. I said I'm calling 99/100 times. Basically I'm pretty damn sure I have his range beat. Why would anyone assume he's playing a set so hard with no draws on the board against what could easily be a continuation bet with an AT type hand' You guys are seeing monsters lurking in every shadow. Doesn't mean they're there. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:tough spot vs dirtyriver early in tilt 163 Yes, you're so right. I waited for the results to be posted so I could know not to fold TPTK after being reraised on a completely safe flop after I made what look to be a continuation bet. All to try and impress guys like you with 0 results in their profiles by showing that I could make the BONE HEADED OBVIOUS PLAY. You caught me. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:tough spot vs dirtyriver early in tilt 163 Really'! Against what seems like a continuation bet on a Q-rag-rag board'! I don't know anything about this guy's play style, but I think you guys are crazy personally. I mean fold ... are you kidding me' I'm calling 99 out of 100 times and can't believe the majority of posters are suggesting to fold ... (and yet the average player would be getting it all in with Q2 or TT on this flop ...) I agree though that there isn't much point in reraising. You'd be scaring away his worse hands and getting it in against him when he has a set. Maybe I'm just not advanced ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Step 4 hand help I think its an obvious shove. You said you had been active early. Why would you think he's not reraising with hands like AQ, AJ, 88, etc.' And you're still alive even if you lose this pot. Easy shove for me, personally. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:9th out of 27 in a 180, whats your move? I was probably overthinking this. Push all in and they probably think you're trying to resteal from the BB with rags and beat you into the pot with a weak ace or small pocket pair. I see calls like that often in big buyin tournies, so I'd assume they'd be even more frequent in $4 ones. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:9th out of 27 in a 180, whats your move? Honestly now that I see you're the BB I don't mind calling and check raising all in on most flops here either (any flop with no A and only 1 over) . That would probably be the most profitable way to play the hand against a player that would always continuation bet in this spot. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:9th out of 27 in a 180, whats your move? Raise. Folding is the worst play possible without a read that they raise big hands 4xBB. And a $4 tourney player is way too unpredictable to just call I think, unless you know they don't continuation bet. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:sick run He was on my left for like 90% of the tourney. For around 2 hours at one table when we were 1 and 2 in chips in the tournament and then we finally switched tables, but he was still on my left at the new table for another half hour or so. Then butters took a few hits and I finally got away from him, only to move to the new chip leader's right when I was 2nd in chips ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:sick run That TT vs 44 was all in pre. Big difference. I did run sick at the final table though, with one major suckout (pair and a high flush draw vs low flopped flush) and well more than my share of dominating hands preflop that held up. I didn't have many big hands at the 2nd to last table though. I had the chip lead through blind steals alone basically, then shipped most of my stack away and entered the final table as the smallest stack. Craziest thing about that tourney though is that I lost with AK vs. QQ in an all in race preflop in the first hour in a 6.6k pot and after that I was down ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Is this unethical? Law doesn't equal morality and rules don't define what is ethical. I'd say stalling is unethical but probably not against the rules of most poker tournaments. Its basically in the same category with slowrolling or Tony G. like antics. Its a douche bag thing to do, and its against the unwritten "rules" of poker, but most likely not the written ones. Re(1): ZeeJustin is Insane! Obviously the guy is super sickly talented and is playing his A game right now, but he's also clearly running insanely hot. Its a sick combination. You could probably combine the best of Stu Unger, Phil Ivey, and Doyle Brunson into one player and have this player play in these 7 tournaments 1000 times and still not have these type of results once. It'd be surprising if this player could even get one run of 5 top 11 finishes out of these 1000 tries, let alone 6 top 11 finishes out of 7. The results are still mindblowing though. Re(1): Hand from Stars $162.. Guess our hands? If I had to pick hands for each of you I'd say KxKh for you, AQ or AJ for Florita (with or without a heart, but I feel without for some reason - probably because psychologically the player would likely be more likely to fold these hands on the river if they had missed the flush, and more likely to call if they never had a flush draw in the first place - also more likely to reraise earlier with a heart). Don't know much about either of your styles of play, just going based on the hand history. Range of hands for you (assuming good tight aggressive player) - KxKh, AxKx, any flush or set, 54s, ... Re(1): Time to start a discussion, key hand from UB 250k I don't like the fold. I would certainly be worried that I'm beat here, but people do crazy things. This is ESPECIALLY true when you have a maniac image ... which is also something that I've had once or twice before. People that have this image of you (either from your recent play, your reputation preceeding you, or more often a combination of the two) often refuse to believe that you ever have a hand. I'd understand the fold more if you had a nitty image. I agree completely with the concept of minimizing risks / big pots as much as possible when you can pick up chips without risking near ...
