"Catching Hell" ESPN 30 for 30 story on Steve Bartman
Ruining a guy's life over a baseball game is disgusting and I hope it brings the cubs another 100 years of misery. And obviously bartman isn't at fault for the cub's collapse. Even if it started a chain reaction that rattled and fucked everything up it's still the cub's fault for being so mentally weak to let it get to them. Does anyone think if a similar thing had happened to the yankees they would have completely fallen apart like that, of course not.

UFC 135: Jones vs Rampage
Cain/JDS would both be decent favorites against Jones. He would still have a reach advantage on them but they are so much bigger than stronger with huge power. And against guys bigger than him he would have a lot more trouble using his insane wrestling and grappling. Still I would love to see either of the fights a few years from now if Jones crushes everyone at 205. Rashad has good wrestling, the fastest hand speed at 205 and good power but really he has absolutely nothing for Jones. pound for pound/jose aldo rant
Aldo is a beast but he is still way too unproven. He only has 2 title defenses (and really only one against a half decent opponent). And he looked vulnerable at times against hominick. Compare him to GSP who has 10 top 5 wins, multiple wins against the consensus #2 guy in his division, etc and it's really not even close. In the future aldo could maybe overtake gsp/anderson but we are easily 3+ fights away from that. And when it's all said and done I think Jones will be remembered as a better fighter p4p than aldo. But it's still too early to say anything 100% about him either.

Brock is very good. His size, speed and wrestling are freakish. There are very few guys that can beat him. He will just overpower and crush them right away. But anyone who thinks brock has any shot whatsoever vs cain is fucking nuts. Cain is a true freak of nature and he is better at literally everything. 1000x better striking, slightly better wrestling, 100000x better conditioning. I have 100% seen cash bets play in a couple of casinos in Vegas, so anyone saying cash doesn't play anywhere in Vegas is wrong. Doesn't mean this specific casino allows it but I have seen it done at plenty of places. Also when you are playing at a casino every bet is a sucker bet, you are always going to lose in the long run. So who gives a shit if the field is slightly worse odds wise just play whatever you find to be fun.

I am in for all 3 contests. I sent the money. Last time the contest was a lot of fun and ran very smoothly. Also the rake was definitely worth it for the website. The site was updated promptly every card. It made everything a lot more convenient being able to update your picks on the site and check standings, other peoples picks etc.

Petition to ultimate bet to slightly alter structure of hsmtts.
The structure is way way too slow at the start in the 500, 300, and 1k. It takes like 2 hours to reach the antes and the tourneys already start late. There are so many times I end up busting everything and I am sitting there late at night 1 tabling ub and its not even close to the money. Plenty of nights I end up skipping ub for this reason. So I would love if they could speed up the structure early in those tournament ( I am fine with the structure once you get deeper). Also I think the 200 sniper and 200 on sunday are ok they way they are. They seem to be decently paced to me.

Well if this fight happens its definitely the biggest mma fight in history (previous biggest was definitely fedor vs cro cop). GSP and Anderson are by far the #1 and #2 fighters p4p at the moment. Aldo is a sicko and could very easily eventually be #1 p4p but unfortunately 145 really blows so he hasn't fought the type of competition gsp and anderson have. As for the fight itself I had planned on betting on GSP, but I had assumed the line would be like +225 to +275. +155 is bleh. Still I think GSP has a good shot of winning. I am definitely going with drago. Drago had the size, reach, and better boxing. Also clubber wasn't really that fast he was just a better brawler than rocky, which is why rocky had to use speed instead.

I personally would prefer 4v4 or 5v5 since its more similar to a normal match you would play and I think the pace of 3v3 is kind of slow. Everything else sounds fine though.

I was actually getting ready to make a thread for a team competition after nyys suggestion, but if you guys are going to run one I am glad I don't have to since I am lazy. Some suggestions for running it, I would do 4-5 players per team depending on how many people want to play, if there are like 5-6 teams do a round robin then have the top 2 teams play a final match if 8 join can just do a regular tourney. Spread the tourney out over a few weeks. It will be almost impossible to get a day where 8 full teams are all free to play a full tourney so just have 1 round a week and have the teams ...

I don't think a FFA tourney necessarily shows how much interest there might be for a team tourney. If a team tourney gets set up I would be interested and I can probably get a whole team together, but FFA is a completely different style and I don't find it fun to play.

No this is isn't necessarily true at all, especially since all the judges scores were at least in the realm of reason. The problem is not the fact that there is only 3 judges the problem is with the 10pt must system. The 10 point must system is designed for boxing and doesn't work nearly as well in mma with the smaller number of rounds. They either need to introduce a system where you can score half rounds so round 1 would have been 10-7.5 and round 5 would have been like 10 edgar 9.5 maynard. Or they need to simply judge the fight as a whole like they did in japan with pride. I want to add ...

The compu strike stats came in for the 5th round edgar landed 32 strikes gray 20 and gray had 6 failed takedown attempts. So really I think at worst edgar ties 47-47 because 5th should obviously have been his round. I haven't seen the 3rd round stats yet but I don't think edgar winning 48-46 is ridiculous.
