Family/friends against my decision to not do a 9-to-5: How do I make them understand?
Pretty much this. Show them the money Jerry Maguire style. My parents thought poker was pure gambling until I kept coming home with money over and over. If you can explain to them how poker isn't gambling, and show them how much money you're making month after month, I guarantee they will come around. Might take awhile, but they will come around.

Lets say Stars buys FTP and sees that you have 2k in phantom deposits on FTP. They also see that you have a Stars account with 5k. Will they have the right to take the 2k out of your Stars account' Or are they not even going to go after these phantom deposits'

Most embarrasing things that you've done or that has happened to you
I've done a lot of really stupid shit when drinking, but none of it I'm really embarrassed about. I never fucked a globe or ate poop. I'll tell one dumb thing I did that was pretty funny. Me and my buddy were drunk at a blackjack table in Vegas, I was blacked out drunk and don't remember this. It was apparently my turn throwing the dice and the dealer slides the dice over to me. I reach down to pick up the dice, but instead, I pick up my four $5 chips off of the pass line and toss them all the way across the table, as if they were dice. I think that GBT's exclusivity rights with FTP and the DOJ ended mid March, so Stars could have been in dicussions with them for atleast a month now.

Are you/how are you claiming losses from FTP and UB?
It's about time to file for taxes and I'm wondering to those that have a decent amount of money on FTP/UB, how are you handling this' Are you not claiming anything this year and making adjustments next year if they payout anything' Are you claiming the money in your account as gambling losses' or what' Thanks in advance for responses.

Thanks Appst for a great post and thanks Rock for the longest bad beat post ever (excluding threevens bad beats thread). I will go ahead and post my story/advice. I quit my real job in late 2010 to play online full time. I had finally got the hang of mass multi tabling tourneys and was doing quite well. I made 10k+ profit in each of the 1st 3 months of 2011 leading up to BF without playing a tourney with a buyin higher than $55. BF hit me hard.
