Pro's and Con's of working playing part time vs Playing full time
Lol at needing 5 figure scores every month, you just need to make enough to cover your outgoings each month (obviously this is different to every person) along with at least 6 months living expenses and your sorted. I think the pros or players who have 'got used' to 5 figure scores think you can't make a living at poker lower down. There are grinders who play the midstakes level who kill the game. This makes more sense and more weaker players in these tourneys than the high stakes. I have the choice of finishing my job next week and playing full time or signing another 6 month contract and ...

Been asked a million times BUT
You need to earn $510 in rake a day if you play every day for a year to earn 1,000,000 vpps which gives you Supernova Elite. So with days off you are looking at about $550 - $600 a day in rake. I have been thinking about doing the same thing. It is possible with a full time job (which I have) but the devil is in the detail. You need to plan exactly how you are going to obtain your target of say $600 a day rake. Obviously it requires massive dedication and the ability to stick to it. Play what you are good at but for me the best and quickest way to rack up vpps are the 6 man turbos with some ...

Re:Stars $22 1r+1a Hand: WWYD?
Thanks after a good night's sleep and a clear head it was a bad play! Shortly after I got all in pre flop with 130k at blinds of 800 / 1600 with 99 ran into QQ. That was also a very bad play. Ah well these type of hands will stick in my mind in future and I have learnt from them now. Cheers for your input.

Re:Can't Download the Full Tilt Poker Client
Thanks for those tips. I think its a problem Full Tilts end as I can't even download the client. The usual box 'Save As' or 'Run' doesn't even appear. Will try it again tomorrow. Just wondered if anyone else had encountered the same problems. Oh and I've downloaded Cake, Party Poker and Absolute this evening so its definately not a problem my end!

Re:pstars error in your favor?
Stars mistakenly credited my bank account with too much money a couple of years ago. I requested $150 cash out and they credited me with $480. The following week I cashed out again $150 and they credited me with $480! Starting to worry that they would send the baliffs round (even though it was their fuck up) I emailed support saying that I think there is an error in their switch / maestro payment system. I told them I would pay the money back and hope to receive some form of compensation for the hassel of writing emails and having to go over my deposit limit. They were grateful for me ...

Re:Cash games V MTTS
Thanks guys for the advice, I do really enjoy MTTS when you get deep and for the 'big score', but after not final tabling an mtt in well over 100 mtts the last week or so (which is normal I accept that) then it can be soul destroying. Then I played some cash last night made all my buy ins back for the day in 2hrs and made a decent figure which I would be happy to have as a target for each day. Doubling up in a cash game gives me just a big of a buzz as winning a huge pot towards then end of an MTT, difference is it doesn't take 5hrs to get to that point. So I'm going to play ...

Cash games V MTTS
I have just spent 11 hours playing over 30 mtts upto $20 no major cashes and found myself about $250 down not too bad. Anyway I decide to open up 4 $0.50 / $1 Omaha 6 max tables and have made back today's losses plus a little more in under one hour! I maybe running slightly good in this cash game session but it has got me thinking: I have just slaved away for 11 hours playing mtts whereas I could have played less and made more at cash omaha! Anyway its kinda obvious that at cash games you can play less (than 11 hours a day!) and can make more than grinding mtts. Do you guys agree with ...

Re:Gotta question bout being on tilt, experienced players please (no offense)
You need to treat poker like a job or a business. Play at set times for a set number of days a week. Say 10hrs a day for 5 days a week (or whatever you prefer) and you got 2 days a week off. Get into a routine and play the same tournies and if you are good enough you will do just fine.

Re:What a difference a site makes?
I spent most of April playing large field mtts on stars and since their fields are like 1500+ people I didn't final table any mtt and played over 100 of them. Got deep a few times though. So towards end of April I decided to play FT as their fields are considerably smaller and I happen to like the structure better. Played about 30 - 40 mtts in just under 2 weeks and already final tabled 2 mtts, taking 2nd in one of them. So I prefer FT as the fields are not as big and their are more mtts on offer at the low buy in level. FT > Stars. Plus the synchronised breaks are a godsend :)

Re:Redline Speed - The Poker Story and the Master Plan
Same here I can make it to the late stages of large field mtts but always seem to bust from 100 people downwards. To be honest I have only started playing large field mtts exclusively this month. I've been a losing / nearly break even player for 3 years now. I have played everything going from cash games, grinding turbos and the 180 man mtts and have come to the conclusion that the only thing that keeps my attention are mtts (preferably with more than 300 people). I get bored easily so I know now that mtts are my game. I think my game is pretty sound although it would always be good to ...

Tournament structure without antes
How much difference to your profitability does a tournament structure without antes have' I ask because on BWin Poker there are no antes in their mtt tournament structures. So when the antes normally kick in and you can steal blinds and gain the antes, thats not the case in a BWin mtt tournament so you have less incentive. I only put $100 on there to test the site but am thinking not to reload as am I better off playing mtts with better structures' i.e. tournaments with antes in their structure'

Where does HU Turbos fit in Fox's BR Management Article?
I was wondering what the 'PRO', 'PROTECTED' and 'UNPROTECTED' number of buyins are for Heads Up Turbos' Can I just use the SNG values stated in the article Obviously HU has more variance but I'm unsure if and how I need to adjust the numbers of buy ins for HU tourneys.
