NL Sharks Help Me With This Hand Hi, As stated before I am coming from limit poker trying to improve my NL cash and tournament game. The following hand is a cash hand and after analysing todays play I think I got way to little out of this hand and would like some input advice: Poker Stars No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $5/$10 - 9 players Stack sizes: UTG: $2058.65 UTG+1: $1208.50 MP1: $950 MP2: $985 MP3: $1606 CO: $175 Button: $1297 MonK: $1052 BB: $687.75 (BB is a DONK! His hand range is wiiiiiide) Pre-flop: (9 players) MonK is SB with th jh 3 folds, MP2 raises to $40 (standard raise from him) , 3 folds, MonK calls ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): NL Cash Game Advice (interesting hand!) Aceskill: Good question. In the situation leading out makes it easy for me to fold to a real re-raise. By betting I am hoping for a call and to see the turn as cheap as possible. ( hoping my opponent will call to get more money from me on turn) By checking I feel I am giving him/her every chance to run me down and take the pot down right there. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): NL Cash Game Advice (interesting hand!) thanks for your quick comments ST. About leading on the flop it is simply to get some information. (and my opponents know i like to be the aggressor). I actually think that my opponent would have bet pot seize if I had checked... so the price would have been about the same but in this scenario with the mini raise he just made my call easier. NL Cash Game Advice (interesting hand!) Hi, For a long time limit hold'em been my bread and butter but after getting very interested in NL tournaments after joining Cardrunners & PokerXFactor I am now giving NL cash a chance because of the more players at each level. I am starting out at $1/2 NL Hold'em hand has more than enough when we talk bankroll management as I still play my limit. Hand in Question: I got a lot of heat from my longtime friend for calling the preflop raise and the raise on the flop (in short he told my play bolonged in a limit game as he knows that is where i come from). When the player ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(4): How do I prepare.. I have been consistently been beating 3/6 while i work on other parts of my game such as tournaments... but I agree i get a little intimidated on the big tables but the money goes into the pot anyway. Actually I am not sure why I have jumped over a few limits... perhaps because 20/40 is my goal.. and my beer infested brain playing tricks on me :) Actually I think I have become to comfortable at the limit I am now and that is a part of my problem. theterminator : hot shot oneliners comes a dime a dozen. How do I prepare.. Myself for $20/40 Fixed limit. I am a good limit cash player but anything above $3 /$6 Fixed limit kinda scares me... Yesterday I took my shot at $20/$40 for the 3rd time these last 2 months and while it still went very good the swings is just so friggin scary... Like Villian having k4 offsuit... I Have QQ... the villian hitting the 4 on the flop... re-raise all the way to river where his K hits... stuff like that... how do i prepare for this... at 3/6 I can play my game without fear. Any players that has taken the step up who likes to share some wisdom... For now I think im gooing to ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Looking for new place to play I am looking for a place with lots of low limit / mid limit cash players (the weaker players the better) and the place should also have a fair share of easy to fill NL SNG's at the $20-50 level. Been with ub for a week and that place is not my cup of tea. Thanks /MonK Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Cash games vs Sit and Go's I will give you my story... it's completely opposit to what you are asking but the idea is still the same. I have been a winning limit player for some time now... this is where I shine - limit poker is my craft! For a long time I have wished to become a better SNG/Tournament player... So each time I was making money on cash i took som to play sng/tournaments... here I could only make even money but it gave me an idea on how to play and I did not burn out so easy because of mixing my play. Last month I joined and my sng/tournament play has already improved so much that I have won two ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Dont go bust in the start of a SNG... Just signed up to UB... playing SNG as I am trying to improve my tournament game.. Damn that saying dont go bust is irritating me right now... my first 6 sngs I have had these pokerhands at the very first hand: AA cracked by JJ KK cracked by J9 suited QQ cracked by 10/10 QQ cracked by KK AA cracked by 89s These are the hands i recieved in the first hands.... My luck finally changed when my JJ hit trips on flop after standard reraise... 4 players go all in!!!! My hand holds up.. Welcome to low limit SNG rollercosterride!!! Posted in: Poker Discussion |
