Re:homeade alfredo sauce recipes please Ok, I'm hesitant to respond... But if you seriously want a good alfredo sauce, then I'll share my personal recipe... The key to any good dish is fresh ingredients and not too much bullshit, so just follow the recipe. Ingredients: 2 cloves finely minced garlic 3/4 cup shredded Asiago cheese 1/4 cup shredded Parmigiano 1 pint heavy cream (whipping cream - as in liquid...) 1 Tbsp. olive oil (man up and get the good shit) 1 Tbsp. lemon juice (man up and buy a whole lemon - throw a slice on the plate to enhance color and show the ladies you can handle the fruit) 1 shot Calvados ... Re(1): Thoughts on Suicide Thoughts on suicide'' Yeah, plenty... I guess the first would be that it would save you from reading some of the awful, cruel, short-sighted posts on here... My father committed suicide when I was 4. He rolled into his parents' driveway in his old Ford pick-up, around 3 in the afternoon, and shot himself in the back of the head. My grandma walked out and found him there. I still have never talked to her about it. My brother was only six months old at the time. Because my mom and dad had been having problems (he was abusive, and the only lasting images I can recall in my mind of him are ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(7): Taylor-Pavlik online stream 117-111 makes no sense at all. Taylor won only 3 rounds''!! However, i understand the overall decision. Pavlik is the champ and he backed Taylor up most of the night. Even if he didn't do any major damage, we all know that initiating the aggression (even with the jab) will make the judges lean your way. Counterpunching in a realtively close fight never lends itself well to winning a decision. I still don't understand why Taylor didn't use Pavlik's jab against him. Instead of the counter right over the top, like he tried in the early rounds, he should have just sat down and pounded the left ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(4): Airplane on a conveyor belt -- will it take off? -- Now edited for all the stubborn nonbelievers LOL, ok cool, just as long as I can get a bottle of bushmills with that... In this case you just presented, of course it would fly, but that's a TOTALLY different experiment. I don't think that's what they're going to test. If it is, why even do the experiment'' I also think that I have understood everything quite clearly up to this point. What is not understood is the nature and reason of the experiment. I can't forget the wheels, because I doubt that they will forget the wheels in the experiment. This is a not a theory we are arguing. I agree with your example presented here. What we are ... Re(2): Airplane on a conveyor belt -- will it take off? -- Now edited for all the stubborn nonbelievers ok, brian, thx for moving post... i respectfully disagree with your terminology of "moving" "forward" and "backward". From our point of view, the wheels are rotating at a speed of 1 mph if they were covering ground, and a fixed, marked point on the conveyor belt will be rotating, or passing by our eyes, at a speed of 1 mph. add as many zeroes as you want, there is no movement from our vantage point. As soon as the "plane" begins to MOVE from left to right, it necessarily follows that the speed of the wheels is greater than the speed of the conveyor belt. Do you agree or disagree' if this ... Re(10): Airplane on a conveyor belt -- will it take off? ok, let's start over... everything else, forgotten... will you permit me to ask you a question for clarification'' when you say "a control system that tracks the plane speed", to what are you referring' What is this plane speed that you speak of' could you be more specific' I would like to know so that i can give you a proper answer. remember, forget everyhing else. i want to know what your conditions are. Re(8): Airplane on a conveyor belt -- will it take off? ok, so in short, do you agree that the speed of the wheels would have to be at least 5000.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 mph for the plane to move forward' this is what i'm getting at. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(6): Airplane on a conveyor belt -- will it take off? I'm starting to think that there is a confusion about speed vs. rpm. brian, with all due respect, I find your math a little fuzzy. To simplify, (and you can add as many zeroes on the end of the integer as you like), let's say the wheels have an rpm of 1. If the conveyor belt is longer than the wheels, then of course it's rpm is less, but the "speed" of both would be the same AT THE POINT OF CONTACT between the two. If at any time the plane moves from left to right (and I use this direction to be consistent with the videos) then do you agree that the speed of the wheels at the point of ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(5): Airplane on a conveyor belt -- will it take off? NOt ignoring you bro, just bouncing around and trying to keep up... Ok, so the experiment conditions are false. Well then, it's a totally different experiment then... For us to know the speeds at which the plane would take off, we would have to know a lot of things. In your example of -500 and 150, we would have to know the weight of the plane, the materials of the wheels and conveyor belt, because we can't "ignore the wheels" as you say since there is the friction to be considered (however negligible it may appear). It would also be handy to know the power of the engine(s), the shape, size ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(3): Airplane on a conveyor belt -- will it take off? what's all this "moving" you speak of' granted, in this experiment, they probably won't be able to match the speeds because they can't build a conveyor belt fast enough, but then the experiment has no merit, does it' like i said earlier, no one is dumb enough to think that the plane won't fly if this condition is not met. Re(3): Airplane on a conveyor belt -- will it take off? Look, I don't have any ulterior motives. Let's take this step by step. 1. Gentlemen, start your engines... Plane engine starts, conveyor belt switch is flipped on by the ghey with the big stache... at the exact same time. 2. Plane wheels start rotating, conveyor belt start rotating in opposite direction... at the exact same time and at the exact same speed. 3. As pilot and guy with stache each increase power, the speeds of the wheels and conveyor belt are kept in accordance with the fact that the conveyor belt "is designed to always move at the same speed as the wheels." 4. Nothing ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(1): Airplane on a conveyor belt -- will it take off? Djam, this is a little backwards. The only way for the speeds to match is for the plane to be stationary - but nothing is holding it in place. BECAUSE the speeds are always matched, the plane will remain sationary. And nothing is making it move either, at least not from the observer's point of view. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(9): Airplane on a conveyor belt -- will it take off? once again, i have read the entire thread, and seen the videos. that's why i'm so clear on this... if the wheels are going 200 mph, and the treadmill is going 200 mph in the opposite direction, then the plane doesn't move. SPEED = DISTANCE / TIME right' or am i confused and illogical as you state' please stop suggesting that i don't understand. rather i would prefer that you address this issue of speed. not relative to some point of forward or backward, but just plain ol' speed. if they are going the same speed, the plane doesn't move. very very logical, my friend. Re(7): Airplane on a conveyor belt -- will it take off? yes it is, according to the conditions stated in the OP. if the wheels are going 200 mph now, then the treadmill must be going 200 mph. this is exactly the whole point of the experiment. no one is dumb enough to think that it won't fly if this condition is removed.
