KK utg final table... just wanted to get some opinions This is a hand from a tournament that I played a couple weeks ago in Vegas and it actually cost me the tournament. It has bugged me for a couple weeks now thinking about how I played it and I keep telling myself a shove was the right play. $45 buy in with first place being $480 if I can remember, 30 people 3 tables and I make it to final table with a nice sized stack, I think I was about third in chips when this hand comes up. Excuse me for not knowing exact chip counts. I will post the first part of the hand then the conclusion after I get a couple responses... thanks guys Blinds ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Anyone whose went from micro to high level? Same thing happened to me after my first big win... I started to feel invincible... I think this is the time that most new players start to learn about variance. Luckily I caught myself before I went haywire and blew everything. I punished myself with $5 sng's until I built my roll back up to a decent level, with the occasional stab at a MTT here and there, which when I hit would give the roll a little boost . It's like going on a diet... vegetables all week and then you get to have cake on sunday. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Anyone whose went from micro to high level? Micro is good for so many things... one of the main reasons is to use it to harden your will. Micro is like sparring in a boxing ring and getting used to the feeling of being hit in the face repeatedly, the more you get hit the less it will sting. And the beauty in it is that you don't have to make a huge investment to learn those lessons. When you are trying to build a bankroll, every dollar counts and building up the tolerance to take bad beats and deal with bad calls is a skill that will be extremely important at any level. If you cannot shake off a loss/bad beat at the level you are ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Stupid question? Is variance higher in the lower buy in MTT's' I am going to assume so because my results are much more consistent at the higher buy ins during the short time I have been playing online... does anyone else find it harder to cash in lower buy in MTT's' Posted in: Poker Discussion |
