What about that huge difference between poker and other sports. The part about the players receiving huge monetary benefits from the various tv/radio deals. I love how espn airs the wsop all the time and the players get no reward. It is rediculous how these corporations make money off of poker players, while the players are risking 10k at a time.

I don't have much help for the first hand because its just a shitty situation. I don't think folding is a great move though. The second hand I think you misplayed. I usually berate players when they just reraise all in with ak when they have deep stacks. However I think in this situation you shouldve just gone all in. my experience in live tournies has been that as day one winds down people play much tighter (even some of the really aggro players) and no one wants to play big pots. I have taken a huge step back the past three months. It has been great for me. I have been getting in the gym 4-5 days a weeks, and have had much more free time to do things I enjoy. The best part about it is taht my poker game has gotten better.

I don't think you can get away from it based on the way it played out. But I would have raised him on the turn to find out if I am behind. After raising if he calls the action will probably go check/check on the river and you wont lose any more money. If he reraises then its a pretty obv fold.

I am always calling in this spot. I think I can get away from a smaller flush but not the nut flush. I think if he made a full it was on the river because I do not think 1/2 players are sophisticated enough to check the turn with a boat. I think the possibility of him making a smaller flush is too big to fold here. Sometimes in NLHE you just have to pay people off if they make better hands than you. At least thats how I play. I refuse to outthink myself.

Just reading the HH I think most people (including myself) would say this is an easy fold. However your explanation was very good. You had pretty good reads on these players and you pretty much thought your 77 was not dominated by a higher pair. By pushing here you are doing exactly want you wanted...putting youself in a position to win, not just make a final table. I love your play based on your reasoning. I think you obv have a lot of talent to be able to go thru that thought process and then to be able to ask for honest feedback. p.s. too make this play you have to be very certain that ...

I would definitely rule out a str8 because I think he raises on flop/turn with str8. I think calling the river is definitly a +ev play. I think the chances of him bluffing or even making two pair on the river here is just too great to fold. Of course there is a possibility he made his flush folding in this spot seems out of the question to me.

I finished college last May. I would never give up that experience for poker. I love poker but college has made me who I am and given me great friendships. But I think this is a stupid post. Everybody is different. For some poker is good, for some it is bad. For some college is good, for some it is bad. you people have no right or basis to be telling other people what is best for them.

im calling 100% of the time here. binds are only 200/400. You have 6k, and calling only cost you 200. To raise is just a stupid waste of chips especially when you are playing oop. A raise pre and bet post will crush your chances if you get played back at. Take the safe approach adn limp/fold to a raise.

important PCA prize package question
I won a package last week thru the 10k fpp satellite. I won another seat tonight thru a double shootout. Pstars did not put $W10,000 into my account and only gave me 1k cash. Am I not allowed to win two packages by different means' If that is the case then where does it say so'
