An Airstream and a Dream! Making a living at live $1/$2?
The satisfaction in life comes from pursuing the dream, the hope, the what if's. The quality of the journey will be a result of your own experience, talent, skill and passion. I rode my motorcycle from Wash state to key west and back 20 days everyone was always asking why would I do that' My relpy was always simple "cause I wanted to". Enjoy the anticipation and the journey cause that is where life is really lived out!!! Keep us posted and always remember that life is never as good as it seems and life is never as bad as it seems!!!

Reasons for my success?
Cracker9, the silent majority know exactly what you are saying and what you mean. We both know that a positive frame of mind is able to make better decisions than a negative one does, no matter what our level of ability. My best decision may be worse than your worst decision. Talent + a positive attitude is unstoppable long term.

Live vs. Online
I know I play much better in person than behind a screen........maybe the anonymity plays a big part in that.....

Reasons for my success?
Great post Cracker9ball.....for the sake of sanity our actions align with our thoughts. If we truly believe something about ourselves it will eventually prove itself out in our lives. Our actions will always be a result of our own thinking. Our thoughts create the culture of our reality. I appreciate the reminder!!!!! Not just for poker but in life :-)

Live vs. Online
Appts, that was probably the most suprising thing to me was that some of the younguns were terrible. I check/shoved a str8 draw on a guy for his last $100 or so and he called and then just threw his cards in the muck after the river and walked away.....I missed my draw and had 8 high....and you are right about FE..I saw guys put $250 into a pot and fold with $45 left in front of them.... lol, louie....she made her announcement and never touched her cards....trust me....I was watching... :-)

Live vs. Online
Most all of you have played alot of both online and live. I personally haven't played much live poker even at 54 yrs old. I was in Vegas for 5 days staying at the Aria. I played about 8 hours each day and found it quite the experience. I played $1-3 and had one losing session but made $2,165.00 while playing there. I think the experience will make me a better online player because I can now put faces to players. It is an odd way of saying that online you can just get bogged down because everything is so one dimensional. I see certain plays and just auto assign tendencies without taking my ...

hand advice
You have position and no reason to build a big pot this early. Check behind and value bet any non heart river. 4,5,6 or any heart I am just checking it down. With 8.8k in chips 30 hands into a tourney Kingfish has definately been active. but this is probably wrong....

Confessions of an Old Guy (tl;dr)
Great post!!!!! You make me feel young at 54!!!! Change is one of the most difficult tasks we can take on in life. The longer we are alive the deeper and more entrenched our thinking, values (systems) and behavior become. I have been thinking alot lately about the business world, family and poker. Your post brought to mind some ideas I wrote about Change. This seems like a good thread to share those in. Five Truths about Change 1. To move to the next level it requires that you leave something behind. 2. If you want to see something you have never seen, you must go somewhere you have never ...

**Official miniFTOPS Low-Stakes Team PLB Competition**
What I learned in the December Team Competition: 1. Pinishe, Pvilleplay, DaPretzel and Steve Murkle are not only great poker players but more importantly solid people. They encouraged, included and made me feel valuable even though I wasn't. 2. Poker is very humbling, especially in a Team competition. I am a smart guy, have a successful business and have accomplished alot through sheer will, determination and perservance. I am the guy you call when you want something done and done right. I really thought that my strengths would overcome me weaknesses and I would be an asset to my team. I am ...

I don't care how bad I run mr prick or care about the money. I apologize for the bad beat stuff. I was frantically reviewing my holdem stats to see what leaks I can find to help my team and was suprised by the results I was looking at. I don't feel bad for me but for my teammates who have been raping it and I have been an anchor. What I do care about is giving everything I can to my teammates even if I was the last one left for them to pick. I wanted to just be part of a fun competition. If our team somehow pulls out this win my $ will go to them because they carried my ass. They have ...

I only have two scores that count if that makes you feel any better. I feel like a toal douche about it and am glad my teammates aren't calling me out on it. I know they are frustrated as shit with me but at least they are aren't being pricks about it in the forum. In fact they have been very encouraging to me in spite of their frustration. What is even more disheartening is that I have been playing pretty well and have taken more 1 and 2 outer river hits than I can even count. Looking through my holdem manage I have lost my lost 7 of 10 AIPF with KK, 6 of 9 AIPF with AA, 9 of 11 AIPF with ...

I see that some scores on the competition page are as low as 10-11 plbs. I know my scoring has been patethic but every point helps. I don't understand why the 13.57 and 11.44 are not listed as scores for our team. I have been victim to more rivered 2 outers in the last week than I have all year.....sigh....... I am very competitive and the only reason I started playing poker was because I am a risk taker (not in a gambling way). I started a business from nothing 20 years and have been successful. I know I can play better and thought the accountability of having teamates would help me focus as well as making new poker friends. This is the first time I am going to try and play all of the FTOPS events.

I am old (54) I have a job (I own a concrete company and we are very busy right now) I don't have any friends here (except andresopprano) I suck at poker I can only play like 4 to 8 a day...except tue (I work with teens) and thurs (home game at my house) So basically I would be the team retard. It should make at least one captain feel like he is helping the handicapped. I will send $ to Fou tonight and if I don't get picked (it won't hurt my feelings) you can just send it back :-))))
