Re(3): What do you guys think right here?
Some people make that move with a monster (trips or two-pair), hoping someone with AK or AQ is trapping or pegs them as weak...the KK or QQ is very possible as well, as is a weak ace, although the weak ace is less likely. Like I said earlier, if you have him as aggressive like that, it's not that bad of a call.

Re(1): What do you guys think right here?
I think you played this sort of strange post flop. Are you checking there to induce a bluff, or were you going to fold to a bet anyways (if you folded)' If he's weak/aggressive like you say, I don't think it's a horrible call...but I think leading out on this flop would have given you a much better idea where you stood in this hand.

Re(1): Maybe we all are de-sensitized after all...
I don't think people get affected by these things anymore, but I don't think it's because of video games, movies, or music. If it had been a 15 year old kid, I think everyone's mindset would have been a shit-ton different than if it were a crazy old lady. Plus, we're just more accustomed to death nowadays, it's not sheltered from us.

Do you fold here?
Kind of curious as to what you would do in this spot or did I maybe misplay this hand with my flop bet' Hopefully this can lead to some decent discussion. To set it up - Brambo hasn't played a whole lot of hands since being moved to this table a little while back, so my read on him wasn't too sharp, although I would say he was a tad bit more active than the rest of the table. I whited-out my action at the bottom so you can see my action on this hand PokerStars Game #9740440414: Tournament #48888344, $3.00+$0.30 Hold'em No Limit - Level IX (300/600) - 2007/05/04 - 03:25:55 (ET) Table ...

Sick call, I don't think I'd make it, but as far as call of the century....in today's aggressive game, I don't think this is as crazy/monumental of a call as say...5 years ago before the poker boom and the game played much tighter. I'd also like to hear your reasoning on this call...MURPH

Re(1): Got Squeezed...Call or Fold?
Good fold - I like to think it is about the decisions you make, not so much the outcome. The way this hand went down, it was pretty clear (to me, at least) that you're either racing or dominated. You can find a better spot to put your chips in.

Re(1): i think this was a good call....
Unless you have a really solid read (which you may have; I'm not trying to bash you here), calling these types of hands down is a good way to watch your roll disappear. However, an alternative plan here would be to continue showing strength on the flop with a continuation bet. You appear very weak checking on that flop - which is probably why the rest of the hand went down like it did. In answer to your original question - I don't think I'm calling in your spot on the turn or the river - I'm either raising or folding on the turn. If you call (as you did), and he puts a big bet on the river, ...

Re(5): Did anyone else know that Phil H. has been playing poker for 22 years?
Phil Ivey has fared just as poorly at the WPT (no wins), would you say he sucks too' What you lack is the ability to admit your mistake about Annie being better than Phil, and your subsequent argument that Hellmuth is a luckbox winning 10 WSOP bracelets and countless cashes and final tables.

Re(1): Calling all in with AK?
Fold. You have plenty of chips to play with without risking them all. I highly doubt he could be making a move like this with a hand like AQ...he most likely has a small pair. If he's bluffing, you'll get his chips eventually if he keeps making retarded plays like this.

not top 5 - maybe 8th or so, which is still pretty great for them. I'd like to see them strengthen their schedule up a bit - that will vault them in the top 5, or drop them out quickly...depending on how they do, obviously

Re(1): Call, Fold, or Push?
Even though you won this hand, you can definately learn something about your gameplay for future hands. The way you played this hand allowed him to hit his hand on either the turn or the river and potentially beat you. If you think he's weak on the flop, you can check/raise him or just lead out. Check/calling in your position doesn't help you on your read of his range of hands at all. I think this is what Metalgod is trying to get across as well.

Re(3): PPA Not Legit?
Of course they're going to come to their own conclusion. The authors of this article did a fair amount of research regarding this organization (almost 3 weeks ago, mind you), and pointed out some issues that seem a little...unconventional. With these kind of accusations to an organization of this size, you would think some representative of the PPA would at the very least come out and address the claims against them, and make an attempt to rectify this situation (and if this has been done, I apologize for saying it hasn't been done). Even if the PPA does come around and fixes the problems the ...

No way will a WAC team get any props or have a Heisman candidate...that's what alot of Hawaii fans don't seem to understand. As soon as Hawaii plays any team with any decency, they get put in back in their place in the middle of the college football pack. Until they can step up recruiting efforts and strengthen their schedule long-term, they'll never get any respect.

Re(1): Did I make a good laydown?
Is the 3500 a typo' It just doesn't seem like a bet you're "trying to see where you're at" in a hand with. If 3500 is correct, I think in the future you could easily bet alot less to achieve the same desired result...especially since if he/she calls your gross overbet, you know you've most likely lost the hand AND over 3/4 of your stack. But on the positive note...I do like you leading out with 2nd pari here. It's very possible your hand is best right here, and if you get played back at, you can slow down and get out cheaply - with an appropriate sized bet.

It's a good fold - you can't be a huge favorite (and more times than not, you'll be a huge dog) in that spot with 2 players all in - the third called after your fold. Keep an eye on this player - you should be able to win his chips later in the tournament with pushes from MP with 77.

Re(1): Was this the right or wrong move?
Let's put together some numbers and see how they pan out: You're getting roughly 8:5 on the call - which is about 1.6:1 on your money. You're getting huge odds if you think you're racing. There's a small variety of hands this guy can be up against - 2 overs, overpair, underpair, or a total bluff (Could be anything from K2 to 23, so we'll assume the worst and go with an over and an under). Let's assume your opponent will hold 2 overs about 50% of the time, an overpair about 30% of the time, and the other two hands about 10% each... 2 overs - 50% time you'll win about 52% time = 26% Overpair ...
