Monitors and Resolution That obv makes alot of sense but if I can fit the same amount of tables on the monitor regardless of it being a 1080 or 1200, I don't see the point of paying the extra amount to get a monitor with 1920x1200. I dont need the taskbar open because I will have that open on my laptop. I guess I'm just looking for the best value here. If I can't fit 12 tables on a 1920x1080 then I won't get it and Ill go for a 1920x1200. At the end of the day I need a monitor that can have 12 tables up (without taskbar) and have good picture quality so that I can watch movies and hook up my PS3 to it. If I can do ... Monitors and Resolution Ok, so I have spent time searching old threads and still have some questions that hopefully people can answer: 1) On Pokerstars, with table at minimum size, how many tables can I have up with NO overlap on a 1920x1080 monitor vs a monitor with 1920x1200' I read somewhere in a thread you can only do 9 with 1920x1080 but can do 12 with 1920x1200, is this true' I read on a forum on FTP its smallest size is 480x359. So 1920/480 is 4, and for either 1080 or 1200/359, you get atleast 3 anyways, doesn't that mean I get 12 tables each no matter what monitor I use with the screens at minimum size' Or ... Sunday 1/4 Million Structure I haven't played this in a while and registered today and noticed within 50 mins, blinds were already at 75/150 and Im at 20 bbs without even doing anything! Tough Lay Down Spot or Just a Cooler? Ok, this is the $4.40 1000 cap 8 max on stars. This is the final table and it just started so we're only 2 or 3 hands in so I have no reads on villain. Also, I should note that one player is sitting out and has been since final 2 tables from what I've seen but may be longer. Is this a spot where I lay this down because I have no read on the player and there is also a guy sitting out so I can guarantee 7th (not saying I want 7th but still maybe something to consider) or is it just a cooler where I have to jam. Avoiding More Than 10% Rake, Is It Possible For Micro Grinders? Yes, I am playing on Stars, although I should really consider switching to FTP since I have rakeback there but I like the micro MTTs on Stars compared to FTP. I'm been playing the $3.40 9 mans for a couple of days so now I really miss MTTs so I threw in 3 tonight, still in 2 so hopefully they go well. I'm going to look into the 27 mans you sugeested and will still start playing the 180 mans when the roll gets a bit bigger. Avoiding More Than 10% Rake, Is It Possible For Micro Grinders? Right that makes sense, I was taking the rake as part of the buy-in not the total of buy-in+rake, thanks. LOLL, man if I still was, I would quit immediately :) In all seriousness, I played a few years ago, got 4th or 5th in an FTP $26 for $1274ish, had to cash out because needed it for my car. Didn't have enough to play for a while. Deposited on stars like a year later, something small not big, and I think I lost like 1/2 of it and cashed out cause again I needed it for something else. Ok so I started off with a roll of $100, cheated by playing tourneys out of BRM and got up to $600, then continued to do this (highest buy-in was $11) and now lost half my roll :( Im down to $300 and instead of staying on this path I'm finally going to start using proper BRM and try to grind so I don't have to reload, I will be using the guidelines posted by Jennifear. However I do have a question, I know alot of people say that paying more than 10% rake is a rip-off and to avoid it at all costs, but to a grinder, is it possible' According to her guidelines, the highest games I can play ... The quest for SNE begins tomorrow... How to move to Canada or Australia or UK? I unno man Mexico doesn't seem so safe, I think it was last year where alot of Canadian tourists were getting killed. Canada is not cheap, we pay more fore everything compared to the States. In terms of gas its $1.13 a litre. I have no idea about rent and stuff. I will say we do have free healthcare :) Taxes are a bitch, 13% on everything. SO stupid, you get taxed on your paycheque, then you get taxed when you buy something. If you were moving to Canada, consider Vancouver as I hear its really nice there and there are areas there where in the winter, it doesn't snow so thats nice ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
