Re(1): How did you turn around your worst bad luck streak? I always find dropping a level helps. It's probably just phsycological but even booking a small win and walking away really helps ones frame of mind when returning to your old stomping ground. Personally I find it really hard to drop down levels for a significant period of time, but doing it just once or twice certainly helps confidence which I am sure you are lacking after some beats. Best of luck, N I've also taken this from a blog in reply to someone who is suffering also. It's from seasoned British poker pro, Paul Parker - Paul Parker said... Bit of advice; always, always ... Re(2): Flipping coins........................ No I never counted anything other than the traditional 50/50 situations. I am well aware that over the year I have had 'proper' bad beats and put my fair share of bad beats on other players. I dont know what point I'm trying to make really. I guess I am looking for a strategy which eliminates coinflips altogether if such a thing exists. Either that or find someone who has come through a similar patch. I actually believe I was running worse than 25% for 2005 but have no way of proving this. It often got to the point where I would look for coinflip situations as I believed the software 'owed ... Flipping coins........................ Dear P5's, A few years ago I noticed that I seemed to be losing a lot of coinflips online. Naturally my friends told me I was probably just forgetting the ones I won and of course over time they even themselves out. I'm a logical person and I agreed. The problem never really went away however and at the beginning of 2006 I logged every coinflip I played. The rules I made for the experiment were that I only ever counted 'proper race' situations which are two over cards v a pair. I'm aware that the pair is often 55% and occasionaly the 2 overcards can be 53%. However its still pretty much a ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Just out of interest.................... I've only paid a passing interest to the recent legislation in the US. I'm from England where our gaming laws are, shall we say, user friendly. I really feel sorry for you Americans. I would'nt know what to do if my favourite hobby was taken from me by the government. My wife thinks we'd end up divorced due to the amount of extra time we would spend together! Is that the opposite of what the law was supposed to achieve'! Anyway, my question is - say you had a good friend or relative who lives in Europe. Could you play under his/her account and get him/her to withdraw/deposit for you as and ... Re(3): I didn't cash in the ME, but big score in fantasy game Hi John, Thats terrific. Thank you very much for those nice words and I'm thrilled a 'good guy' like you has won the 1st prize. Your offer to help out promoting the site is really very much appreciated and I am grateful. Thanks for being understanding with regards to the 'double check' thing, but its better to do it this way than pay people out and then find out we'd made an error. If you need to get hold of me in the next few days before you recieve official confirmation then please private message me here and i'll get straight back to you. If all things go well then I will speak to you ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): I didn't cash in the ME, but big score in fantasy game Hi MaineMonster, Congratulations my man!! Just to let you know that we will be doing a complete double check of all players scores over the early part of next week. After that, the results must be submitted to an independent source to check them over and make sure that no one from say my family or my employment has won a prize. I guess you and all the other winners will get an email from me towards the middle/end of next week. I am really thrilled that a P5'er has won the 1st prize as this is easily the best poker community around. The guy from Detroit who won the WSOP seat was a really ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Harry Demetriou at WSOP today Taken from Joe Beevers on TheHendonMob site - 'Play for the $2000 NLH shootout started a little after noon today. The shootout is supposed to be tables of 10 with the winner of each table progressing. On nearly every table I could see around me there were empty seats. On each table they were in the same place, the 3 5 7 and 9 seats had stacks but no players. After several hands there was an announcement that the dealers should take the chips from those seats, the 3 5 7 and 9, and put them in their wells and out of play. So effectively we were all now playing a short handed shootout with 6 ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Fantasy Poker Update Hello all, All events are now up to date including the recent No Limit Hold Em event. You may be interested to know and I hope he does not mind me saying that that the winner of that event, Max Pescatori has entered 3 teams into the game, of course picking himself! I would be quite amazed if a pro like this wins the contest. As for being able to see details of all teams. I am told by my web guy that this will be completed and live at some point today. I appreciate all the feedback and I know it will make for a better product in the future. The only stuff I got a little upset over was the ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Fantasy Poker Needs Credibility Hi guys, I'm really sorry you feel this way and I will do my best to explain. Last week you guys posted the following concerns - 1. Updates not happening fast enough Since then all the updates have happened within 12 hours after the conclusion of an event. I know there is an event outstanding at the moment and I expect that will get updated first thing Monday morning. 2. You could not see all 3 of your teams and could not register them in mini-leagues Problem solved within 48 hours of you posting this to me. 3. You would like to be able to see all the other teams in the game and which ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(12): The Fantasy Poker Game Hi guys, I've taken on board all your points. 1. Being able to click on other peoples teams to see who they have entered and what you are up against. I completely agree and we're working on that. Should not be too hard to implement and it would be a nice feature. I have no integrity issues over this at all. We are squeeky clean. 2. The issues re your second and third teams being in mini-leagues and visible to you when you log-in. Again this is being worked on. It's more compicated than the problem above and it's a technical issue we did not envisage. I'm sure you appreciate that this was a ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

The Fantasy Poker Game Hi guys, I know you have all been getting pretty impatient with the lack of updates on the site and rightly so. I know that most of the fun is picking your team and of course watching it run and comparing it with others in the rankings. Rather than give you a poor excuse I will be honest. I was in Amsterdam this weekend leaving my IT guys in charge of updates and scoring. It seems they struggled without me. I came back to find dozens of abusive emails, posts, a dead rabbit etc... Anyway, the site is up to date now and if you have any problems email support and they should help. Our points ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
