Favorite Beer
New Casstle is high quality. similar to it is "Angel Ale". My personal favorites come from a brewery in Canada called Unibroue. Good ones to try are: -> Maudite (8% alc/vol) -> Terrible (10.5% alc/vol) -> Trois Pistoles (9% alc/vol) -> La Fin De Monde (9% alc/vol) Other Good choices: -> Franziskaner, both the regular and the dark (Germany) -> Blue Moon (Belgium) -> Lake Front Brewery Pumpkin Ale (Milwaukee) -> Hacker Pschorr Dark (Germany)

WORST show on TV?
I would say the "average persons" appeal to poker and survivor is similar. Most survivor fans don't watch it for the individual competions. They like to see how people deal with these added enviromental stresses while trying to make decisions for a million dollars. The point is wits = cash. Same as poker.

WORST show on TV?
Survivor has 10 seasons and is still on prime time, which only begins to reflect its popularity worldwide. The incentives for watching Survivor are the same for watching tournament poker: Watching people make decisions worth "millions" (in the case of Survivor, it's 1 million) dollars. (I was going to attempt to use jerkstore somewhere in here to link it back to seinfield, but decided it's been done, and I'm below name calling)

Pope John Paul II has died
You're intitled to your opinions on theology, but to undermind anyones death is ignorant, especially a world leader like John Paul II. If you believe in God, then his death isn't something all that sad. It's ashame to lose such a power spiritual leader.

If you have kids watch out
This is a pretty awesome story, and I'm glad you shared it. There was a pretty cool article in Card Player a couple of months back that discussed whether or not you should teacher your childern how to play poker. The author (who I can't remember off the top of my head, but will look up) made some good agruements for both sides.

WORST show on TV?
Hey now. Reality TV like "Big Brother" and "The Real World" might suck nasty gofer balls, but reality competitions like "Survivor" and "The Amazing Race" are ridiculously addictive, and apply many of the same strategies poker teaches. My vote is TILT. I was embarrassed as a hardcore poker player to watch most of that spasm put to film. My problem was that poker (and most gambling) is finally coming into public acceptance. Why, on a network that runs the WSOP, would you try to link poker with scandalous gangsters, corruption, fear of being cheated, leg breaking, and murder' Granted, this ...

If you have kids watch out
It makes me glad I don't say much when I play. I would really feel bad if I typed in half the stuff I thought when I played not knowing it was a 13 year old recieving the oral abuse. I always picture the same crotchety old man or a beautiful unsatisfied housewife when i play. Go figure.

My problem is timing (school) facilities. I doubt very much people would want to head to Dekalb. It is a long hike for some of you, but we could have a good game there (nice tables, good company, hopefully plenty of room). I'm looking into some alternatives CLOSER to Chicago (Naperville or closer).

Hand Names
QQ = mary kate and ashely 77 = Savanna’s. The only refrence I can find to a pair of 7's being called savanna's is from Cool Hand Luke, which is on the list of best movies of all time, and is therefore a completely creditable source.

This is almost tempting enough to get me to eat fastfood again. Why did I stop eating fast food' The McNugget Power Hour Challenge 60 shots of beer (normal power hour rules) 40 McNuggets (it was origionally 60, but was deemed impossible in practice boughts without the beer) 1 Hour I've never seen so much vomit in my life as six of the stupidest people I know (myself included) attempted this tribute to idiocy. Advice for any of you foolish enough to try this is that the quality of the beer COUNTS! USE THE CHEAP STUFF! Busch lite is an excellent choice for this contest, but any high water, ...
