My guess is they kept it dark for continuity purposes. If they attacked "in the morning" then it would HAVE to get lighter as the fighting went on. That would probably be a logistical nightmare for the filmers. Attack at night and you don't need to change light levels as time goes on.

Game Of Thrones Season Two **No Spoilers posted ITT please**
What I really enjoy about the books (which has transferred into the show) is that "information" is incomplete. Characters "know" things that aren't true or at least confirmed. It is pretty cool. For example, Tywin "knows" that Arya is in King's Landing. We know otherwise and then there is other information, whether it be historical, regarding the "Others" or current such as the whereabouts of other characters, which the reader doesn't know either. Just like real life.

TML, Not only has a team never won 3 game 7's in a row, no team has even won a series after winning the two previous series in 7 games. So, you are right with your stat, they would be the first to win 3 consecutive game 7s AND the first two win another series after back-to-back 7game series victories. Anyway, the hockey should be good but I will admit that tonight and next Sunday I will be watching Game of Thrones instead of LA/PHO come 9pm, then I'll switch back.

Thanks and I know I will use at least 1 of the games to sell for a massive profit if it is indeed 1994 rematch. The face value of my upper-level seats are $200 for the pair. But it's looking increasingly like a 7th game is necessary for Caps/Rangers.

What?!? No ManCity/Newcastle thread?
I'm very happy with Newcastle's season so far. They have an insanely outside chance at qualifying for Champions League but they've earned their position and going into Goodison Park for the finale will not be an easy task. If they somehow make CL, they'll have earned it. Keeping the quality play into the next League campaign will be a tough task.

The Others don't rule Westeros or any other part of the world (yet) because they can be killed by fire (and 1 other thing that i'm not sure would be a spoiler if I mentioned it) and due to the fact there just aren't that many of them. Whatever force/god exists that created them has been asleep at the wheel the last 8000 years or so.

Atlantic City Bachelor Party Recommendations
Carmine's at the Trop is great for a big group. It's all family style, so you can go to town. Mine consisted of Carmine's for dinner, gamble for 3 or 4 hours, meet back at Carmine's for the "Titanic" dessert, then do our own thing. It was simple and no one had a bad time.

Tywin had never seen Arya before. I'm pretty sure he hoped that she would say, 'House Stark, sigil is a direworlf, etc, etc" but Arya is too quick witted for that. Tyrion would've known in a heartbeat but I have this feeling that he would pretend to have no idea who she is while in the company of other people.

Book 4 and the beginning of Book 5 happen at the same time. It was tough to get started on 4 due to the influx of new characters and reading from the POV of characters you know for the first time. I'm going to guess they will combine story lines from Books 4 and 5 when they make the episodes.

Official First Round of NHL Playoffs Thread
Quiet Winner - while predicting the #1 to beat the #6 in 5 games in Round 2 is fine and dandy, the Rangers haven't "owned" the Devils at all this season. Devils were 3-3 while the Rangers were 3-2-1 (SO loss after blowing game in final minute). Both Brodeur and Lundqvist have shutouts. Both teams won in regulation at home and on the road. It would be a helluva series that hopefully is more reminiscent of 93-94 than 05-06 or 07-08. However, both teams need to make the 2nd round which won't be easy as the Rangers were 1-3 vs OTT and the Devils 2-2 v FLA.

Dolphin, if so many of the main characters were under-18 (or whatever it is to film in UK), they wouldn't be able to film much each day. Considering the role that Daenayres (spelling is awful i know), it obviously can't be played by a 14 year old. I don't mind simple changes like that. Doesn't really change the story much, really.

Part of the problem when it comes to education is that everyone feels "right" in their opinion because they were a student once, so they feel they know what is best. Education "reform" tends to be more focused on how to adjust where the money goes and less on teaching practices. This is my 5th year teaching and the averages for my classes midterms are the highest I've ever had. One class followed up a single-unit test average of 61.6% with a MT (6-unit) average of 82.1%. What does this mean' One test score doesn't necessarily mean anything and yet so much attention is paid to them. If only ...

MLS passes NBA, is now 3rd most attended league in US
This entire concept is skewed. The NHL will NEVER be above 5th in terms of team sports if every league sold out every possible ticket. It's just the nature of the stadiums that each league plays in. NFL > MLB > MLS > NBA > NHL For NBA/NHL teams that share arenas there is usually a MINIMUM of 1000seat difference between the capacities, in the NBAs favor of course. When the MLS has a greater revenue than NHL and NBA, then start talking. I wouldnt be surprised that it happens in the future and it will be in part to having larger stadium.

As a sports fan, does the pain of your team losing exceed the joy of their winning?
Been a Devils fan for a long time, I remember the heartbreak of 1994 despite being only 8 at the time, the joy of 1995 which was just after I turned 10 but the games that stick out to me are Game 7 v Carolina in 2009 as the most devastating loss I've ever experienced live and Devils v Penguins from March 4th of this year. The Devils were doing nothing all season and went on a run that defied every sporting law. The joy when Kovalchuk scored in OT was just unbelievable...still having the belief and hope that the run would continue another day. That was when I realized that wins > losses. ...
