took me 15 minutes to finally get seated. knocked off a dozen times in first hour. bad beat got me short stacked at the 45 minute mark. worst software ever. but.....tripled up on pocket 5's....presto!!! this is really a painful tourney to play, but lots of money to win!

Re(1): Selling a WSOP Seat?
hey shroom i am in the same predicament and e-mailed paradise about transferring over a week ago and they only told me my e-mail would be forwarded to the promotions department. i have yet to hear from them about if this is possible. how long did you have to wait to get the ok to transfer it to a paradise player' as far as your question, i worked out a deal where i get some cash up front and a percentage of money if the player wins anything. you can also find a good player and give him the seat for a larger percentage without any money up front. or of course you may be able to get close to ...

Add a Playa win to the list
Just won the Playa for $2K!! Fun Fun. I know some of you guys hate these self-promotion posts, but I'm feeling good and want to post it anyways. So far this year I have taken down: $50K R&A on Paradise WSOP seat on Paradise $109 MTT on Party for $5K Playa on Paradise A handful of 2nds and 3rds in other Paradise tourneys, mainly the daytimers. A couple dozen FT's. Any honorable mention in the rankings' LOL! I really wonder what players think of my skills, or lack there of. Sometimes I wish the rankings went beyond 70 (way beyond I would assume in my case) just to see where one stands ...

Re(1): I'm a loser.....
yeah, i was curious how things would turn out from last year when i did my taxes. withdrawals from firepay for big MTT wins totalled about 11K, with most of my wins in feb and march. i was worried i would have to claim my winnings, but when i added up all the deposits into firepay which disappeared into others bank accounts i was surprised to find i basically broke even. at least i didn't have to deal with the headache of trying to figure out how to file if i won! 11K pissed away the last 9 months of the year, considering my basically non-existent income as a student that makes me a loser ...

Re(1): Loose play to win tournaments?
my two cents. learn how to play loose. learn how to play tight. learn how to shift gears. play/watch enough tournaments to get a feel for when these styles will be of most benefit at different times in the tourney. also, learn to play the short stack and learn to play the big stack. i actually think that knowing how to play the big stack is a much more valuable skill as this will win you more tournaments and big pay days. knowing how to play short stacks or play tight (same principle in my mind) will get you into the money more. if you have a bit of a bankroll though you gotta go for the ...

Re(2): The power of 6 9
BT, oddly enough i have found the same luck. both limit and no limit. i have a hard time throwing it away now because i always seem to get a favorable flop. in the last MTT i took down i held 69. flop 996. wheeeee. three handed, last to act and they both bet the flop. i just call. wheeeeee. turn.....9!!! EP bets, MP folds, I call. river...who cares, wheeee !! then he makes a weak bet, i'm all in, he calls and then i show the power of 69. weirdest hand. i think the poker gods writing those "scripts" to bust aces have a sense of humor. 69 man!

schedule for satellites to live tourneys??
is there any chance you guys have been considering putting up a schedule that shows upcoming live tournaments and what/when major sites are offering online satellites to these events' it would be helpful to have a link that you could click on the live tourney that would be coming up with the dates of the event beside it. then after clicking that link it could have a list of the sites offering satellites, how much they are offering them for, and what time they play out. maybe a little star or something if super-satellites, etc. are also offered. listing the super-satellites would be too ...

Re(6): First Time I've drawn quads.
quads yesterday in a party $100 MTT. pair of 3's. BB, me in MP, raise in LP. call, call. flop comes T33. check,i check, decent size bet. fold. i call. q on turn. decent sized bet again. i raise double the bet. he thinks for a while and calls. river T. check (risky i know). he goes all in. i call and i'm all in. for a second i was worried he got quad tens (it's party) but he shows AT suited for the T over 3 boat. we were both big stacks at the table. he must have shit himself when he saw the quads. launched me into first and i rode it into the final table. also had quad biatches (QQQQ) ...

Re(1): Paradise WSOP seats
i got $1000, seat in masters ($600), and the WSOP seat. which if you read my post i probably won't be able to attend. the $1000 is to travel and pay for hotel. i think this was less than the norm $2000 because there were fewer players. Nomack

WSOP seat from 'dise
so i won a WSOP seat last saturday at paradise and i have a big problem i was hoping to get some help with. not the best tourney i've played by a long shot, actually a pretty sick tourney to be totally honest. i made some very questionable plays midway through the tourney because i wanted to go out and get my drink on, but they went my way anyway. got to the final table in 5th or so and sucked out heads up against a guy named scarface, or something along those lines, and then finished him off after that. delaReine, frequent p5 poster, made the final table and was very impressive. NSXT also ...

question about the Aruba wins and UB
never played UB. i keep reading about how a bunch of guys win multiple Aruba packages. what is this and how does it work' how much are the buys-ins' i assume it is a package to play in a WPT event or something of the sort. but why does someone need to win more than one' bragging rights' you get your seat. you go play. right or wrong' or can you sell these' how much do they go for' i don't really play any tourneys for seats in events because as a med student i don't know if i would be able to get off to play a multi-day event. of course my goal is to some day mix it up in some live events. ...

a good play by NSXT in the Ocean
Read that long banter about NSXT tanking the Ocean to make his girl happy and go shopping. Ya know what I think' I think it is a damn good play. Granted his small tourneys that he decides to ditch because he has something better to do may be a big tourney to someone else. It's all relative. Regardless, some things are more important in life. Family, kids, girlfriends/boyfriends, etc. I have been playing a lot recently and the girlfriend has been getting quite mad lately. I know that I should spend more time doing what she wants so I can play when I want. We even set Mondays and Thursdays as ...

Re(1): Playa- All-In's - Frustration - Advice
you know i found the same thing true in the playa tourney 2 nights ago. spent 1/3 of the tourney in first. about 2/3 top 3 and most of the time in top 10. gets to twenty or so and all-in's left and right. cards didn't come so i basically stayed out of the melee. made it to the final table, in 8th or so. First hand QQ in late position. guy in MP bets out 1500, guy to my R calls, i go all in. Now i think this is a time to go all-in. Not just crossing my fingers hoping for a lucky card or two. i truly think i have best hand. i figure looking at AK and a smaller pair. guy in MP calls. Player to R ...

Re(1): FULL TILT OR WHAT
if you are good enough to have pulled in 3K in 6mos of work then you are at the very least a reasonable player. giving up would probably be a shame. unless you end up losing your winnings and dipping too deep into your wallet to keep playing. if this happens and you are uncomfortable with reaching back into the wallet, then yes, maybe consider hanging it up. everybody has ups and downs. read wachovias last blog. Also my first post a couple of days ago talks a little about my ups and downs over the last 12 months or so. it happens. wachovia gave me some advice about playing those pretty hole ...

Thanks for the words bighog and wach. nice "consolation" pull on the pearl wachovia. nice to get a little (or big one depending on who you are) before the weekend, hey' i felt i played decent in the p5open (25th i think out of all those amazing p's) and fair in the 50k on paradise last night. i'm a little closer to tightening the screws up before the pardise masters. and i think you are right as far as races go, i probably am playing too many. i am a decent enough player now that when i hold AA or KK and the flop comes i don't get blinded by my hole cards and actually see and appreciate the ...

great tourney great players two hands i remember...kinda. i hold aq dd. stack is about 5k. sheets or johnny bax (i forget which one because now they have melded into my head as one) bets out 500 i think in 3rd position with about 5k in his stack. everyone folds. i make a stab at taking the 500, since he just got moved to the table. so i raise it up 1000. he quickly calls. flop comes low d, low d, ace. he checks. what do i do....''' all-in. he folds quickly. i think back at it and think it was pretty dumb. too afraid of the ak without another diamond coming i guess. might have pulled in a few ...

First post, comments on Wachovia's article, NSXT, and tourney woes
So, this is my first post. Great site and all that jazz. I started playing on Paradise about 2 1/2 years ago and remember seeing NXT2 back then and wondering, "How good is this guy' He's everywhere!" Well, now I know who he is and exactly how good he truly is. Plus, we get to peek into the minds of some other great players. Truly a wonderful site. Anyway, in regards to Wachovia's article. I have to say well written and you make a lot of sense. I particularly like the tourney section where you talk about feeling good, confident, and at the top of your game, and then the downward spiral hits. ...
