Full Tilt Cashout tournaments For those that don't know yet. FTP are doing MTTs with a cashout option (they have a little green c next to them). Half of the prize pool goes towards a cashout bank which accumulates as you get more chips. So unlike the ICM principle employed in tournaments each chip actually has the same cash value. It seems to have some similarities to the KO tournaments, except I think it is a little better because in a KO you can take all but 1 of a players chips and not get the bounty. For those that have seen these and got invloved I have a few questions. 1.Has anyone figured out an optimal ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:unnecessary shove? I like the shove. AQ is an awkward hand to play with this stack, you're gonna be all in at some point best to be first in and get uncontested chips Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Earky stage MTT KK vs AA; should I check on the river here? I (Gurner) am dealt KK and my nemesis (in the previous 2 hands immediately before this one his AQ beat my JJ and took a pot of 750, then I took a pot of 650 uncontested after I fired a second bullet after the turn) eclat has AA, it is a very dangerous board by the river, yet his check on the river suggests a weakness and he has not shown any slowplaying or trappy tendancies so I bet 300, which after his call and show of aces I wonder if I should have been content to win what was there. Was I a little too hopeful about getting called with a worse hand here' PokerStars Game #26315757126: ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Building a bankroll. . . . Advice I agree with advice on the $5 90 player SNGs they pay 20% of the field making it easy to cash keeping your bankroll going steady until you get a few first place finishes, but they take at least three hours to finish. I think 5$ SNGs are a steady way to make money, I have given up on turbos recently because they are just far too swingy for my liking and you need a much bigger bankroll to cope with this Posted in: Poker Discussion |

To Rebuy or Add on in a one /rebuy addon in a one rebuy/addon tournament to? is the question!! Would love to hear people's views on this issue The live tournament I play in is a $40 with one rebuy or add on. It attracts about 50 runners, each starting with 4000 chips. The first two levels 25/50 and 50/100 are 45 minutes each. This also marks the end of the rebuy/add on period. Then go levels go up every 30 minutes to 200/400, 300/600, 400/800, 600/1200……. Usually I have amassed some chips before the break and then buy the add on for another 4000 chips. The last two games I played I got stacked just before the end of the rebuy period and decided that it would be a better use of my ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Good fold or too tight? This hand was in level 4 of a deepstack (5k starting chips 30 min blinds) tourney on Pokerstars, blinds were 50/100 I had 10k and I am dealt Pocket Kings, I end up folding after one player pushes all in on the turn with another player yet to act. The board as this point was [6h 9d 7h] [8d]. I am thinking with these bets i am facing a straight and I still have a healthy chip stack if I fold. This is typical of the kind of situation where I have been knocked out of tournaments and I am trying to improve my ability to fold premium pockets. The hand history is below if anyone is interested enough ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
