Re:Freddy Deeb & "new" UB management involved in superuser scandal?
From 2p2: "My name is Ricco Pollan. I want to make this clear before I post this very important thread.....I really like UB, and it WAS my favorite site to play for both real money and play chips. I am still trying to get this straightened out, but it has become obvious that UB is not willing to refund the real money tourney players who were cheated. I am including emails that UB sent to me that completely contredict themselves, making me believe that they condone such cheating................this really hurts me to do this, but you HAVE to know what is going on. Re:Annie Duke's Pokerroad Interview
BR- I believe the reason so many of us are upset with Annie is because she is the face of UB, and we feel that she is still grossly misinformed at the least, and flat out lying at the worst. She claims that the minute UB found out about this they started doing their own investigation and locked all these superuser accounts and promptly notified the online community about them. This is false. All superusers were identified by players LONG before UB ever found them on their own. Taking any credit for this is BS. She claims that they didn't want to 'rush' the investigation which ...

Re:Annie Duke's Pokerroad Interview
LOL @ Annie's interview. She comes off horribly and avoids the questions there just as she has here. Also, she said Rizen left UB because he was worried about the publicity of the 60 mins interview and still claims UB is the safest site on the net. True' Mark

FTP giving out HH's with everyone's hole cards
The problem has already been fixed, but just so it doesn't get swept under the rug, Full Tilt was sending out HH files this morning with all players hole cards included. I personally know 2 players who received such files and have seen them myself. Its been addressed and the files seem to be back to normal now, but just wanted to make sure the info was out there. Someday online sites have to get their acts together and this kinda stuff won't happen anymore right...' If you want to read up a little on this mornings drama it can be found here: Cheers, Mark

Re(3): Aim convo with Ryanb9..He told me to asked all the pros this question.. just read
I love how OP keeps saying its not a fold and for someone to show him the math why it is, and Jennifear has on multiple occasions. I was going to post after reading the first page that even if lilholdem came and said he'd fold, the OP would still argue. And I see inissint has posted just that and I'm guessing he's still arguing' Its clear by the way people that want to call justify a call describe their expected value, they don't understand the difference between a sng and a mtt. gg OP. yes, excellent post. Definitely don't bet your AT, just let the guy with the weak Q or JJ beat you and win the pot. I mean, its not like you need the chips or anything right' Sometimes people make me chuckle. Mark

Re(4): If you could - Would you be a pro?
While I agree with this as a general rule, this isn't set in stone. I left a well paying job, had a decent bankroll to work with but no poker experience whatsoever, a wife and daughter to support, and 'went pro'. This was 3 years ago and things are going well, although I almost quit after the first year. I think if you are young and have very in the way of montly expenses, poker is a very viable way to make a living. (Assuming you posses the skills necessary to do well in any job) So I wouldn't call it a 100% certainty. I do advise people that ask me about it though to have at least 6 months ...

Re(5): Give us some ideas on how we should structure our forums
You wouldn't need this if the forum was linear. The reason the vast majority of all forums on any topic are linear are because its easy to follow and understand. Obv I'm not super active here and just read P5s from time to time. But a lot of that is due to the fact that its really hard to follow a thread and not miss anything. It just takes up too much time. gl with the redesign. You definitely need the 4 main high level forums. Cash, MTT, SNG, General. Why not start there and add more levels if they get too crowded' Mark

By your definition then, you don't understand MTTs. You say that edge is playing with an advantage over your competitors...well, what does the number of players have to do with that' gl, M

Re(3): IS THERE AN EDGE ANYMORE?
This isn't an issue of 'seeing things differently' than I do. If you feel your edge is less because there are more players in a tournament (which is what you've argued on multiple occasions here) then you are not understanding a fundamental aspect of poker. Edge is not related to how many coinflips you have to win or suckouts you have to dodge. Any good cash game player will tell you that its still possibe to have a significant edge over your opponents. I see players constantly make plays that are fundamentally wrong. Players are definitely better today than 2 years ago. But your edge over ...

Re(1): IS THERE AN EDGE ANYMORE?
LOL at the people arguing that the more players in a tournament there are, the less of an edge you have. This shows a large misconception of the game of poker. How big your edge is, and how many bad beats you have to dodge are not related. Also, try to think outside your tourney donk world now and then. Cash game players chuckle at 'you can't have a big edge anymore' comments. Players are definitely better as a whole than they were 2 years ago. But good players can still crush cash games. M

Re(4): Question on Tax
This is correct. It isn't unusual for someone to be an even money player, and get screwed by the govt when the decide to count your income and not your losses for certain things. If you're talking more than a few thousand dollars, I would have a professional advise you on what precautions to take, and to do your taxes for you. M

Re(4): Why do people tap the glass?
So true. I hate glass tappers, and love how they always justify it one of two ways: 'There are always other fish' (meaning they know its helping make the fish better) or 'it just helps me blow off steam and not tilt' (meaning they suck at poker) In general, tapping the glass just shows the players who are more concerned with stroking their ego, and making sure the rest of the table knows they are a better player, played the better hand, and that the other guy was a donkey, than they are with winning more money long term. The original response to this thread was correct: Its a personality ...

Re(4): Bad Fold?????
If the quick math is right, he'd be making a pot sized bet on the flop correct' My thought mostly being, this is your best chance to defeat AK/AQ in the hands of an ultratight who would fold it to a slightly larger than pot sized bet on the flop if he didn't hit. You also have the possibly he has QQ, and A flops, and you push and he folds. Not saying he would or that this is the right play, but its a thought. If you're going to push, I like a stop and go better. But I'm not ranked ;) M
