** News and speculations about FTP ** I would guess/hope to be given the licence they will have to prove they have the players funds and they are segregated amongst other things. I dont think this will involve the U.S. funds, as we're led to believe the DOJ are responsible for you're money now.....right' Posted in: Poker Sites |

I am a Multiaccounter! So what you're saying is: - There are multi accounters online - When pokerstars find them, they get banned - Money confiscated because they broke TOS True story What is your point' Of course there will always be someone trying to pull a scam. There are over 300,000 people online at peak so obv they can't get them all, but Pokerstars have a team of people and software to try to catch them and they get banned. This costs Stars a lot of money per year and is done for OUR (The players trying to play straight up)protection They have proved time and time again they are the best at this NO ... PokerStars Structures! I think it was Negreanu who said to improve some live structure event (may have been wsop cant remember the link it was recent though) they should: - get rid of level 1-3 (as it is too deep at start, and nobody busts) - Start with 4 level 4s and its therefore still playable and theres more action earlier on and more bust outs leading to a larger avg stacks. So for example instead of after level 4 only 10% of the field is gone and avg stack is ~11k (from starting 10k) maybe 50% of field is gone so avg is 20k and therefore much deeper avg stacks going forward. Throw in a few extra levels at ... Posted in: Poker Sites |

The Best Poker Books Out There? Apart from the standard raises sizes used in the books that have changed now, yes Fundementals, pots odds, position, hand ranges, M, stack sizes, ABC poker all still relevant and the books will still help a player go from micro to low to mid stakes imo Upwards than mid stakes you need more than harrington now, but that has been the case for a while Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Tougher Field - Sun Milly or Warm up Ok, I played the Anniversary 10mill tourney and the field/table draw was probably the weakest i've been at all year (I'm normally ABI $30) OBV this tourney was an extreme case, but how does the normal Sunday Mill and warmup field compare to each other and this one. If you could only play one WarmUp or Million each week, which one' or is there nothing in it' Posted in: Poker Community |

Long sessions vs 2 smaller sessions, focus and mental side of game I'm pretty much used to 5 to 6 hours sleep in the week with work anyways but I see your point if I go deep until late, I'd change the 4 hour slots for sessions accordingly, but in general i'm gettin at the concept of 2 reg sessions a day instead of sort of marathon session Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Long sessions vs 2 smaller sessions, focus and mental side of game Right, i have the next week off work and plan to play as much as i can, i'm debating whether to play: 1 Long session - reg everything in my range between 12 and 10pm OR break my day into 2 parts: Early session - reg 8am -1pm (finish play between 3pm and 6pm dependant how deep i run) Then the later session - reg 6pm - 10pm I always see when most people put up a session it's continuous but does anybody else do 2 smaller sessions' The plus points being a chance to cut off, eat, clear you're head, and come back refocused ready for the rest of the day The negatives being you don't get to lie in ... Poker playing to studying/Learning ratio and techniu? There was a question fired at Tom44411 during his well someone asked how much time he spent playing compared to studying poker, his answer i quote: "I would say that the ratio is somewhere between 2:1 and 1.5:1 right now. When I wasn't in school this summer, it would be somewhere are 3:1 in favour of the revision, I'm pretty much ocd with analzying stuff until I understand it completely." I found this interesting and i think a lot of aspiring players would want opinions on - although he admits hes a bit ocd, is this common for top/pro players to have this level of study' is that what it ... What tilts you the most? Used to be tilted by other peoples bad plays, bad beats for a big stack to knock me out of a tourney or bubbling tourney; then proceed to blow 3 to others tourneys in the next 5 minutes I think i've learnt to control this now and try accept bad beats and move on Now i'm mostly only tilt when i make mistakes, stupid bluff, miss value bet, make an obvious call when i have to be beat - worst when this takes me from a big stack down to an average stack! When i make a stupid raise fold Posted in: Poker Community |

Getting started? - Make a plan and stick to it. - Dont just play loads of random games or try to master all forms of poker at once, focus on one variation of the game -Decide if you prefer Cash games or Tournament structures (There is no right or wrong here, some people are not cut out for Cash and some not for tourneys -might depend on your character, your schedule, and/or what you enjoy more) If MTT/SNG: -Read the Harrington on Holdem books (They may be dated to high level poker, but as far as the fundementals i'd swear by these books, they will put you ahead of >90% of low stakes players imo) - Learn ... ft close to deal You're not the only one. People will play there but right now people priorities go like this: 1. Getting our money back 2. Get full tilt back open under new management 3. Restore the brand back to how good it was Sadly point 1 relies on point 2 Sure, they'll be some customers who will be gone and swear they will never return. BUT if under new management with EVERYONE paid back, i'd bet within a few months they'd have at least 75% of the traffic they had b4 June 29. Feds Call Full Tilt Poker A Massive Ponzi Scheme I see, and that then forced the top dogs at FTP to pay themselves 20 30 $40m each of our money'.........right, i stand corrected They couldn't have cut costs on marketing and advertising' or cut down signing up every pro that won a live mtt' No I mean was it really necessary to continue the advertising to bring in new customers, when they could barely look after the ones they had.....servers crashing every other day, unable to keep up with support.... Feds Call Full Tilt Poker A Massive Ponzi Scheme how anyone can have this opinion''''' Whether you like your govt or not, how are they responsible for our money being gone, they haven't being skimming the money' Full Tilt were supposed to have over $400m of players funds ring fenced so we can have it back whenever we want..........Fact is the money isn't there.......and hasn't been for a long time - before the DOJ got involved If the DOJ didn't catch them now, it would have continued and the Hole would have got bigger, more people out of pocket, more $ skimmed off to owners Posted in: Poker Sites |

Message from Jeff Ifrah Regarding FTP & AGCC (important) Call me naive or whatever, but doesn't the AGCC already know the scale of the problem and how many of us it affects, and know that all the players (1) want our money back and (2) the site restoring to its former glory if theres any chance of it I will do the petition and email, but i dont see that 10000 people signing something at this stage opens their eyes to anything they didnt already know....or will affect the outcome either way Posted in: Poker Sites |
